I follow this car on Instagram, I always thought he was insane for driving a WRC car on road given its value but on closer inspection and based on the info on the video its obviously had a real hard life and not much is left from its time with the Subaru WRC team. I actually love how its rough and battle damaged. It tells a story unlike a mint replica. Fantastic and thanks for sharing

No real set surface or camber to dial the car and ya senses to. Just what ever the weather and location throws at the car and driver that day. Sand, Ice, Mud, gravel, snow, woodland Dirt.... All of the above on some stages. Also JUMPS. Mid stage. Crest crest crest flat 130 straight stay left. Road rally is always fun and go go go. Maximum respect to it in fact but real rally. Real rally. Well it certain grips me more on dirt it seems. Any surface is best I guess. Excluding dirt from rally I think is more where I have an issue 🤣🤣✌✌🤘🤘
And from italy, the only country which produced rally cars that could hold a candle to japanese. (I love and daily drive an sti but lancia delta hf evo is bae)

As a kid. I was a diehard Subaru fan. My dad drove a 92 RS Liberty Turbo. It wasnt until 2005 when his friend (who also owned a Subaru Brumby with a S204 from Japan - that thing was a fucking weapon) got a brand new Evo 9. He took us for a spin in that, and that was the day I swapped teams. Im glad I did. I currently own a 400HP Evo 10. But I can really appreciate this video so much, with the knowledge I have on Subarus already, you really taught me some quircky things about this body shape that I never knew. Thanks for the video brother! Awesome car!

I know this car. It was run in Northern Ireland for some years in the mid 2000’s I think. I local driver used it and I watched it many times. Good to know it’s still on the road and being used.

Love all STI Subies , after several Subaru turbos I realized that the way to get what you want is buy you're favourite Gc or Gd body and build away , engines of every description are available here in Canada they'll put it right in you're garage in two days .I built a STI bugeye which you couldn't get in North America , got part's from 12 different cars ! $10k all done 90k enjine twin scroll ej-207 and s203 6 speed ......happy camper !

Most beautiful WRC Car ever! This one in particular has a special place in my heart! Was with him from the first tests up to the two first full seasons in Madeira Island. Got ths luck to ride in it back in 2000.

Fantastic! Having been in a gc8 type-r with a 6 speed dccd swaped in, and a bit bigger turbo, that was so exhilarating! I have a 05 wrx as a daily driver ( and it is really good, has coilovers, intake+exhaust and tune) but it is nowhere near that type-r. Great video!
This is a beast of a car. I once owned a GC8 Sti conversion and I surely miss it. I sold it because I didn't want to wreck the thing. I needed a car I could rally without worrying about a crash! Thank you for the great presentation!

There's something off, because famous Subaru works driver Possum Bourne owned 98/ 031. His car is still in New Zealand.
