Hi everyone, just a quick message in response to some comments below. A lot of you have commented on how the train is moving around quite a bit, however this is not the case. The train is actually very smooth, however, when I uploaded the video I tried an anti shake option which has unfortunately made it look like the train is driving in jelly. A lesson learned and I will not be applying the anti shake to future videos. Once again a huge thank you to everybody for all your kind words and support on the videos 👍
I recognise where this is as I’m a national express coach driver on the motorway m20. He’s running alongside the M20 between Eyhorne tunnel and Harrietsham tunnel going towards Folkestone. Note that ‘cruise control’ or ‘vitesse impose’ is not being used and power is being manually controlled to prevent over speeding down the gradients on the approaches to both Eyhorne and Harrietsham tunnels. Also note that on the substantial rising gradient between Eyhorne and Harrietsham tunnels that speed falls to the mid 280s kph from a maximum of 298 attained at Eyhorne tunnel.
Hey everybody, just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone for the views and likes on my channel. When I uploaded these videos nearly 5 years ago I didn't imagine I'd ever get this amount of views. I also have some videos on my Tik Tok account aswell (mevstrains). I hope to have more regular content on the channel in the near future and would really appreciate it if you could all subscribe to my channel and leave a like. Once again, a huge thank you to you all for all the channel support.
Wow! What a video! My DREAM one day to sit next to a Eurostar driver and watch it with my eyes - going a speed of 300!! 3 weeks ago I was on Eurostar’s to London n Brussels! Fantastic to experience this speed! Thank U! Bless U!!
Long before HS2, I drove from Paris to Calais. I'll never forget driving up the autoroute at 80mph thinking I was doing well , only to get passed on late left hand side by an original Eurostar going 100mph FASTER than me 😀
Very stable and consistent alignment of train, I had onboard Eurostar train back in 2013 October 4 times...from gare DU Nord to Saint Pancras station...by the way I'm Malaysian Malay, and I'm hoping one day my country will have Asianstar train ...from Malaysia to Indonesia and China... 😂
Do you know, it feels a lot calmer and peaceful And I expected. I really do feel like you could take everything in your stride. It does not feel that fast
I'm actually surprised that it is not smoother than the ride appears. Back in coach I do not recall ever bouncing around that much on the TGV at roughly the same speed...
There's a big differance between watching it and actually doing it!! This is in-cab signalling as its over 125 MPH, so it makes it easier but you still have to learn the routes you drive over, being able to drive them in thick fog and at night for example! You gotta know where to start braking so as to stop in the right place etc, you also gotta know where every speed restriction is off the top of your head. Going fast is easy, stopping it in the right place is hard! Also, the rules you have to know off by heart are in the hundreds!! You get tested and mentored regularly and your every move in the cab with controls are recorded.
My aim is to get this job. I’m a qualified driver in another part of the country but have family near St Pancras. I wonder if any current E* drivers could shed some light on the recruitment process and any inside information?
I highly doubt Vancouver has driverless 300kmph high-speed trains that travel through an undersea tunnel and across multiple countries. London has the DLR which is fully automated, but like the skytrain it's just a light metro service. This is a international high speed heavy rail line, it can't be automated.

It doesn't look like you're going that fast until you compare the speed of the train with the cars next to it

Based on the pilot’s head movement, the train is negotiating the curves 😎
I know this might sound pretty stupid, but 300 km/h somehow look kinda slow from a train engineer's view.
But when you see trains at speed from a station or in a siding there like bullets
Awesome video, you were very lucky to be able to get inside
