If you don't want to blend in with the typical business executives in their Mercedes S-class, BMW 7-series or Audi A8s, you choose something like this. A Maserati Quattroporte Sport GTS! Italian styling by Pininfarina, a glorious exhaust note from that 4.7L V8 plus more nimble handling characteristics. These days, a nice Quattroporte from this generation is merely $30,000 (budget for maintenance and repairs), which is simply the most exotic 4-door experience you can have for the price of a lightly used Toyota Camry. Enjoy this review of the Quattroporte and make sure you also check out the Ownership video with Tim when it comes out!

I've had 3 qp GTS, everytime I sold it I missed it so much I had to get another, that's how good they are. And that's coming from someone who has Ferraris and astons, it is the greatest sedan of all time!
I had a 2008 (preferred the front grille that was changed with the 2009). Kid hit me and totalled the car. (Bought a 2009 GranTurisomo.) As a longtime BMW owner, I was/am in love with both these cars. Think I am going to get another. Couldn't give a damn about the "technology". If you have/need a radio, fine. That's it. Lord knows the exhaust is the best sound system. I am way old and care about the driving. Love the interior. The smell. The leather. The design.
This was one of the best looking sedans ever made. I actually prefer the original 05-08 pre refresh car more but this is still a beautiful Pininfarina design
I love the updated front lights. But the shape is definitely gorgeous
I had a pre-refresh car. The front end is much nicer, imho, than afterwards. Still a beautiful and fast car. Under-rated.
@@EddieX Great video and awesome car guys! What would a mint 2010 GTS, silver color, with only 12,000 miles be worth now in 2024? Really appreciate your help
Kudos to Tim. He knows his stuff on this car for sure. As a current Qp6 and former qp5 owner I would agree w his comment that the Qp5 is very special. I will say as a daily the Qp6 is fantastic to live with and a better car day to day. But the driving experience and size / style of the qp5 is for sure more bespoke. People who know and understand these cars (like Tim) get it and are not swayed by the internet false roomer mill around reliability.
This is something I truly agree on. Myself as a QP5 GTS owner, it's a truly special car and only for the people who own it would actually fully understand. People who drive a Mercedes or BMW or Porsche won't get it. Maserati has always been a love and hate relationship... certainly not a car which you can just drive it daily and put on a full tank and thinking nothing will happen... it's a type of car where you need to put love and care to it. I do wish more people start to appreciate this type of car more. It's not just a car, it's a piece of art...
@@douglaschan600 I have a Mercedes S class, a BMW 7 and a Porsche 911 - this year I want to buy a Maserati QP5 for my collection - let's see if I can understand something about what kind of car it is 😂 greetings from Poland
As much as it is expensive to maintain, delicate, and hopelessly inefficient, this is the Maserati I would have; a 2009-2013 sport gts just like this one. I get to drive an earlier example with 4.2 and ZF 6 speed. It feels boutique and a bit out-dated but in the best way possible. It feel so special. It's gonna have wait until I could affort to maintain it properly. What a beautiful machine.
These sound so good, it’s ridiculous. And the facelift variants (like this one) have significantly better reliability than the pre-facelift ones. They look so good.
Last year I bought a 2010 Sport GT S with 30K miles in excellent condition for $30K. It's an amazing car. The handling, looks, sound, the whole package. At the time I also had a 458 and the driving experience is very similar. They are both darty, have hair-trigger throttles, and sound great. It feels half the size it actually is. It's more sporty nimble feeling than my 550.
How was the maintenance costs?
That’s a great price the sport Gts variant is really rare
Man this is the best looking luxury limousine ever ever
Styling in the Maserati is always cool!
Much love to Tim the owner saw his 300 for sale that is a man of good taste ❤ 🎉
great video....i had an 09 QP-S for just over 10 years....sold it earlier this year....great car, no problems but no time to drive it anymore, so on to the next owner to enjoy....just as reliable as my E63 and M5 over the years....don't believe the negative crap about QP's on all the forums...post 08 with ZF auto are great cars - especially the "S" with 4.7....stick to the maintenance sched and don't think you can drive a $145K car without spending a few bucks for preventative maintenance....
You need to review my Granturismo mc sometime😉
Down. Next Michigan trip. And the viper.
@@EddieX sounds like a plan!! You got my number, just let me know🙂
Always loved Maseratis!
I really wish it didn’t didn’t live up to its bad reputation. It looks and sounds AMAZING!
Love it Eddie. Pininfarina design. Its a winner. Not that big inside for my 6.4 frame however. I've driven it many times....never pulled the trigger due to size and cost of maintenance.
I’m sat in the back of my GTS right now and as a 6’4 gent with full recline on the rear seats I’m happy as Larry. 😅
My S Class provides me with more room in the drivers seat and for my tall friends in the back seat area. @@richardwilson57
In middle east 2009 standard model sold for 11k with 55k km (34k milles)
Have Fun with this Car❤🎉
La vera Maserati ❤
I'm considering buying a burgundy 2008 executive GT 4.2L V8, what's your opinion on that ?and it only has 50,000 on the Odo
A lot of people forget that while you're buying a 30K car you're still maintaining a 130K car.
It does sound good and look badass but that's about it
Drives nicely too
I have a 120,000 mile car in uk …… still feels very strong
4.7 ok!!!!
The sound reminds me of the F Type.
Good comparison, just a bit less of the crackles and pops haha
Buying this is equivalent to eating a bunch of Taco Bell before a 12 hour flight
So, a brilliant idea?
Why? GTS is actually pretty reliable. The only problems are with electronics
@@arekdbz3 any 15 year old European car is objectively a massive gamble.
That guy looks like a famous comedian I cnt remember his name
30k? In the Netherlands you pay 80k with 30kmiles haha
“Boring S class” while driving around in a ticking bomb lol 😂
That doesn’t change the fact that the S Class is a boring old man car 😂
Nice Buick!!!
Name one modern Buick that looks this good 😄
Lol, non car guy right here
Nothing good about Maserati. Used Maserati is money pit.
Do you speak from experience?
@@EddieXnah I pretty sure he’s speaking from everyone else’s opinion. There’s a lot of sheep in the car community 😂
@@EddieX it’s a terrific car. We have one a 2012 Quattroporte 4.7 S for 2 years now. Same mileage as this one, and it’s been very reliable. Nothing has gone except one thing the clock spring in the dash which gave it a creaking noise it was $2,500 and to install came to $3,300. Also the PRND small cluster was sun damaged it was plug and play D.I.Y install it was $650. That’s the only two things needed in 2 years one was cosmetic. The sound of the naturally aspirated engine to me more than makes up for the few and far between expensive parts needed. It’s been very reliable. I’d highly recommend it. I prefer the ride with the skyhook suspension over the harsher GTS ride myself but that’s personal taste. That’s why I went with the S with the same engine.
Buddy was watching how low his gas was at the beginning of video lol
