I had NO idea these were all college students until 18:55 when the narrator said he owned a house with three other guys. Until then I just assumed they were anywhere from elementary to high school students.

I read it at first, then went to look for a reading, i automaticly thought of my second grade class when reading it.

Marcus Dranz oh I know an original Liam Vickers creation regardless of who narrates it and this is Liam to the core, if there's any passing resemblance to a Japanese? Folk tale, believe me, it's superficial because I think I've been listening to Liam so long that everything just shouts ScarystorytimewithLiam! at you from every line. These days with everything on the Internet, I'm sure everyone who writes, or does graphics is bound to have had exposure, both conscious and subconscious to lots of other authors, artists etc. Every artist is influenced to a greater or lesser extent, to things they have seen or read. I think that the bigger the Internet gets the less able people will be to pin down both positive and negative influences on their work or even themselves. I don't know the thing that was mentioned, but I can tell you that I was doing housework today with this creepypasta playlist on and Within seconds, without even having recognised the voice, I knew that after (when was it? ) 3, 4 years? That I was listening to a Liam Vickers Story and I have had similar happen with other narrators of Liam's work. I can do the same with mamy contemporary and historical classical authors, and just like I know Thomas Hardy or Clive Barker (lotsa scope there) I know vintage Vickers! (Yeah that's you Liam...you must be a tad vintage by now? Surely? ?).
Nah its 100% Vickers but like I said, I could write a short story tomorrow after watching a McDonalds advert and a couple of the elements might come through in the story if I was hungry, I am specifically thinking of one ad in particular which had the song 'Rythm of the Night' and you see an urban fox...probably eating a happy meal but the image and the song stick in my mind, but the short story wouldn't be based on McDonald's even though the fox element and the idea of a pulse at night from the song were directly, though not consciously as a result of the ad. Disclaimer: I don't buy McDonalds in any form but I did like that imagery!

I don't understand the slow comments. This was the perfect ghost story told at the perfect pace. This is how a true ghost story should sound and unfold. This has to be one of my favorites of all time. A true ghost story is supposed to slowly lure you into a slow maddening melancholy of uncomfortable horror and this does it magnificently. Well done sir this will go into my favorite category and I will listen again and again.
Well thanks a lot! Differing opinions, I suppose! I think both sides have a valid point, and I certainly think I have improved my writing since this story :3 I believe, despite what they say, the true gripe about this story is that it is overly-reliant on heavy words and is less "slow" than it is "drawn out in the wrong places." I think we can all agree these are valid criticisms, and ones even I notice looking back. I gladly take the negative feedback to heart, and hope to improve, but I also appreciate that nice folks like yourself see this story as the fun, imperfect tale of spooks it is ^_^ I can't do everything right, but if the narrative works for most people out there, who the heck cares if I used the word "melancholy" one too many times, haha XD

The story may have been slow, but I felt that was what needed to be done for the full effect to take place. Realizing what was going to happen and listening to it play out was amazing. Stories like these that shake my very existence are what I live for, and this one was well narrated, so I thank you for that.

Fantastic and absolutely incredible story. I loved every second of it! Anyone who said they got bored just has a short attention span. The only thing wrong with it is the fact that it isn't longer.

The only thing at all that they have in common is that there is a dead person in a classroom..other than that there is nothing even close to being the same between the two..people who have simple minds and are not able to think past that one similarity has issues...but please by all means enlighten me and feel free to point out how else the stories are exactly alike if you will..I would love to hear it...to accuse someone of lying about writing an original story is pretty shitty so I think rather than just casually blabbing out a comment like that you should at least be able to back it up..and if you cant, then....well, that kinda makes you a prick.

+Imme Wik This comment always weirded me out . . . because . . . well, haha, it's really really just not. After getting this same thing so many times, I finally watched that series (which was quite enjoyable I might say) . . . and our narratives really share no similarities. I suppose they are both about a dead student in a classroom? That's honestly the only thing I can possibly find that makes them slightly resemble each other. "Another" focuses on a class trying to figure out who among them is actually already dead (and not even the dead person knows it's them), and people keep dying of freak accidents until they find and kill that person . . . my story focuses on a malevolent apparition in a school that steals one person's existence and trades it for its own. That person, in turn, then takes the place of the spirit and repeats the cycle with a new victim. I' . . . I mean, please PLEASE tell me what I'm missing here, but I just don't see a single similarity there, let alone, "the exact plot." My brain genuinely hurts trying to comprehend why people keep saying this. Please help.

The way you exaggerated the details of the despair you were feeling. This one is a sad one, just by looking at the little girl she takes the life you cling to, you slowly become what she use to be and felt what she felt. Its a bit creepy but a little more depressing, its a good story. :)

It kinda reminded me of the Japanese horror movie, Cairo where a city was overrun with ghosts because of the internet and when someone came into contact with them they fell into a similar despair before becoming ghosts themselves. I can't imagine how hopelessly depressed the author was when they wrote this.
I like all Liam's stories. He does have a soft spot for tainted, otherworldly Femmes Fatal! Ah Liam, Your leading ladies are always dangerous creatures-I think you do a terrific job of turning these, sometimes pretty loathsome, but misunderstood, girls into attractive anti-heros...I could see you falling for Lisbeth Salander in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy! The dangerous, damaged, unconventionally beautiful heroine is right up your street. It makes for really original characters and possibly is how your stories appeal to so many people, I think it shows that you don't judge on first impression and that acceptance that everyone is different is what makes you and your work so appealing.

This story was so sad, honestly it would be horrible for that to happen.
Though the thing of the class not knowing someone existed reminded me a little of a horror anime called "Another", which is pretty damn creepy especially towards the end. Would recommend it to anyone who liked this story, but don't watch the last few episodes at night.

Hey thank you :) It is about 11 pages long and took me about 2 hours to write (I wrote it while waiting for a delayed flight at the airport, haha) :D It probably took longer to edit it and rework some details, but the basic structure took about that long ;) Thanks for the sub man!

I'm a die hard fan of Edgar Allan Poe and the style of your prose is just as pleasing to read...especially with the word "hideous", leaves the reader to use his imagination to interpret the images, as only one's own mind could create. Seth Wallace Well thanks man! :D I know this is a lame response, but that's kinda part of the mystery :) If you want a fully fleshed out horror story in which everything is explained in the end, check out a story I wrote called "Design" :D It has a similar premise of setting up a seemingly supernatural situation like this, but it's got backstories, origins, character development, plot twists, and all kinds of good stuff like that ;) It's 6 parts, each around 30-40 minutes long, so you can bet it's quite the story . . . really a book at that point :)

But why did he lose hope? I mean yeah the loss of interaction would suck, but what about all the stuff you could do with no consequence? Hop on any plane, play any game, kill someone with no blame. Out of rhyme. Anyway the possibility are endless. Anything you want it's yours. Maybe after awhile it would get boring but not for at least a year or two. Then you do the whole pass it on thing. Of course I understand the "hatred consumed me" thing but still.

The only similarity is that there is a dead person in a classroom and that is where it stops....how could you possibly say that the plots are the same when they only have one thing in common and it ends there? Maybe you did not actually pay that much attention to the two stories or something?

I'm so interested in what would happen when or if he managed to consume this kid, and what would happen afterwards.
If he did, what would he turn into? Would he consume all the memories and become that person and loosing all self-awareness in the sense that he wouldn't remember his own memories?
If he did keep his memories, which would also ensure that the girl did as well, how would the confrontation between the two be?

A really interesting and mind-boggling story, though.
I dont know why all of a sudden all these people are experts and critiquing your writing the way that they are...I am actually quite surprised and amazed...I am an ancient person most likely compared to most of the people in here commenting I would imagine and am and always have been an avid reader (and occasional writer..sorry I cant send you one of my critically acclaimed five novels but I am much to busy to get it out to you what with all the commenting and critiquing I have to do and maintain here on youtube!!). I am always amused (and often annoyed) by the number of "experts" you will find here on youtube on a variety of subjects and how they are always willing to point out everyone else's mistakes.
Either the "author of the five novels that have all received great reviews" is just an asshole IRL or they are very young and arrogant, whether they have any room to be that or not. I agree with you though that as a mature adult they were extremely rude and if they truly were a professional writer and'or a decent person they would have commented with a little more tact I guess. I am very curious though as to whether or not you ever received your "graded paper back" from them and/or a copy of at least one of their novels, or at least the information to locate said novel so that you could take a gander at it yourself or at least establish if it even it exists (which I seriously am doubting)?
So, though I do not claim to be an expert by any means, I do consider myself well educated and I have read a few things in my life (though LISTENING to stories is something new to me I will say...I think reading is one of my passions in life but I have only recently allowed myself to enjoy listening to stories be told) I have to tell you that your original stories are some of the scariest I have ever come across..after listening to many others for a period of time and then switching over and listening to yours I can see a distinct difference in the level of "fear inducing factors". As a matter of fact, I rarely find myself leaving a story feeling uneasy and unable to sleep like a baby but there have been a few of yours that have left me sucking my thumb and buried under the covers once I turn the lights out!! I have found that I can only do a few of yours and then must take a little break as not only do the plots induce a little anxiety but the awesome way in which you are able to draw a person in and make a story "real" to someone is overwhelming to me at times (a good thing). To be honest, this particular story is not one of my favorites that you have done and once you mentioned that it was a few years old i can see the the way your style has evolved and I just happen to enjoy the more recent stories a little better..not that I found a lot of faults with this one it is just not my thing. Just keep up the good work and dont let a few idiots ever discourage you though I am quite sure that you are above that. The population of people out there on the internet is vast and it seems more of the idiots speak up than anyone else.
