Thanks Tony, that's really kind and appreciated.
Been a fan for years Tony.. and more than just about our shared interests in MLD, Hilleberg etc., but your human side shows. For example, I remember a very touching video you made after your late wife passed away from cancer, and your honesty was truly touching and appreciated by many I'm sure who have experienced the same. I had to abandon a month long hike through Spain last year due to my mother's passing from cancer. Instead I stayed with her for her last few weeks trying to get the stubborn old so and so to take her medication. She passed away, and I returned to Spain to do this hike, and there I met a beautiful woman and we spent time together, both in Spain as well as Turkey. She has cancer too. She's a full-time traveller like me so we're not an item as it were. But the memories remain.
But you know what? It's amazing how the riddle of life unfolds, tragedy can lead to light, and I think that every single one of your subscribers could relate to that.. how our time in the outdoors can be a place for both reflection, healing and hope, whether it's pitching an MLD Supermid or planning a hike in the Arctic with a Hilleberg.
I never belched like you in the company of my friend, but she did comment on how I was spilling more of my kebab on the ground than actually putting in my mouth in Turkey..I was making an effort to be classy! đ
Very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Both my folks with us but slowly getting caught by time. Can't imagine it but will have to deal with it. I hope your friend can recover somewhat. Take care and thanks đ

Tony, what I love about your videos is that you're always experimenting with different configurations as you say, whether it's tarps, bivvy, huge Hillebergs, home dehydrated meals or more conventional pre-packaged meals (we miss Tony's Belchometer to rank meals BTW! đ). I kinda feel a bit stuck in my ways with my pretty traditional set up of solo tent, gas stove, PHD half bag, boring looking but technically efficient clothes (I'm homeless basically & only have one set of clothes) that work well both in the hills or on a date in a restaurant somewhere. I see your kit room, and I kind of have the equivalent in a storage unit, but I'm so boring & lazy now that I basically stick with my 48l Gregory pack which holds everything I need outside of winter mountaneering stuff which is rare. I certainly couldn't make videos as interesting about my backpacking kit as yours Tony, as mine would say things like 'Well I do carry a spare pare of socks, but there's nothing much else to report really. "

I don't know if I should admit to this online, but I'm currently in the Alps, and on the Domo's Fartometer scale, I scored several 10's yesterday due to over-applications of chilli oil on my pizzas recently, privately of course, but funny nevertheless. John Muir never wrote about that did he. But I'm certain he smiled in the wilds as much as I do? đ
