“It’s growing in popularity “ we keep seeing your videos telling us how easy it is your the reason people are trying it out, hell Im gonna order mine next week
@@goldenhivemead I've watched a hand full of your videos and talked to my coworker who makes mead as well, we work in a distillery too so hopefully I won't be to shavy at it.
@@intanayu8674I finished it back in December, it turned out really well. I only had 9 bottles to fill so the rest went into a gallon jug, about half a gallon. The flavour was excellent and I was very happy how it turned out.
honestly been seeing alot of your videos pop up in my feed recently peaked my interest been looking into beginner videos on your channel to help me learn how to get started! Thank you for interesting me in a new hobby!.
i was first introduced to Mead when i visted Honeyville in Colorado, just outside of Durango! They had EVERY type of mead you could think of, strawberry, blueberry, lavender, and even honey infused liquors too!~ if you've ever visited, its really nice, but definitely going to try at home after watching your vids!
I’m going to start my first batch this Monday. I was wondering firstly when is the best time to add the camp den tablets? and also if swing top bottles will be sealed well enough to preserve the apple cider I plan to make?
Do you need to add sulphites to age it in the bottle? I've never made Mead but did quite a few batches of wine back in the day. With wine sulphites help keep it from becoming vinegar but I don't know if Mead would do the same.
No, I need more than honey water and yeast. I need siphons, whatever that stopper is, and all the rest of the damned equipment! Which I’m going to buy.
When i furst taught how to make mead, i was told that after bottling it, it needs to be refrigerated or it will keep fermenting and can explode the bottle, true or not?
Kinda true. If it’s sweetened, it’ll keep fermenting in the bottle. Even if fridged it’ll still explode eventually. There are steps to stop this though like chemical stabilizing or pasteurization
Is there a max time limit on how long you can have it brewing I don’t know the correct word for it but basically could you just leave it till let’s say 20 years?🤔
Okay okay so. Would it be a crime to age it like whiskey? I have 3 different whiskey barrels that have been aged and charred. oak, hickory, and maple would it still be mead?or does it become something like a mead whiskey cross over?
Mead making must be growing in popularity but then again the only videos on it i see is either from this guy or KingCobraJFS. One guy shows us how to make it and the other shows us how not to make mead.
Do you need to do anything special to make it last for a long time? I've seen some blogs where people aged it for 15+ years, but I figured more science goes into that. 😂
I also want to warn you about alcohol addiction, it takes a decade to get alcoholic, you never be normal after. so be wise about consuming drugs in general. the bible says you can try everything, but don't let the devil in 🎮
During fermentation, the yeast are actively turning sugar into alcohol. During aging, no more sugar is being converted into alcohol. It is just sitting and slowly developing better flavor. I'm not sure what chemically happens during aging.

I am too 😂
Bro it's going up in popularity because you keep appearing in everyone's feeds
I'm with you there. This channel is the main reason I'm even considering investing in equipment to make mead
@@rasmushopland5001I already did bro😅
Facts😂 I thought it was illegal until I saw this channel and got intrigued
I’ll take it 😂
Ill take all your mead@@goldenhivemead
I always thought it was a honey beer because in fantasy media they drink it from tankards so i thought it was beer
Common misconception
With some difficulty I started my own mead today, hoping it turns out well
The best way to learn is by doing it

Your videos are so interesting and has me wanting to try making mead! Are you in stores?
Youre the reason its growing in popularity. I started seeing your vids then so did everyone around me.
My wife curses you but I gotta say thank you for introducing me to a hobby that finally gives me a reason to go into my cellar. 😂
Orange blossom mead must be so good... where was it though? Only saw the oranges.
That's cool but is it really that easy?

Its growing in popularity because skyrim players are growing up
Can't wait for my first batch. Thanks for these videos
Make Argonean blood wine / mead from skyrim plzzz i love ur vids
My man found a way to home brew and sell alcohol without actually selling alcohol.
Can you mix different types of fruit in your mead? Can it effect the fermentation or something?
I want to do this but i dont have the fken patience
Lol did you know that time passes anyway
I have some mead fermenting in my pants rn. I used flower honey, apple cider vinegar and apple slices. It's been 24 hours so far
Gross! 😂
I-in your pants?!?! Can we get a spell check over here please??? 😄😄😄
Using vinegar during fermentation is a sure fire way to get vinegar out
Can you use agave syrup or other similar things with the honey
I’m going to start my first batch this Monday. I was wondering firstly when is the best time to add the camp den tablets? and also if swing top bottles will be sealed well enough to preserve the apple cider I plan to make?
Do you need to sanitize the fruits?
This could have been really helpful in the 1920s
Wut...?
@@zaab-yaoh9302 Its a prohibition joke
My oldest stepbrother made mead once. Now its just on my page
Can I use bread instead of yeast?
I want to make blue berry, wild rose/ wild rose, orange/ blue berry orange. I hope it will go well 😊
Do you leave the fruit in it for a month
Mead literally taste like white wine mixed with honey. I can't stand wine but fricken love mead 😆
Kingcobrajfs started the mead trend.
TWU
Unfortunately honey is very expensive how much does it cost to make the bottle 😮
Next paycheck I am buying a kit. Nothing expensive though.
Do you sell to stores in germany? I swear to god i‘ve seen that label in person before
Im only 17 making mead for family events, I wish to try so much and its fun, 😊
Where can i buy it your kit and recipes??😢
Do you need to add sulphites to age it in the bottle? I've never made Mead but did quite a few batches of wine back in the day. With wine sulphites help keep it from becoming vinegar but I don't know if Mead would do the same.
It’s essentially the same. You don’t need sulfites but they’re preferable to age
You should make a batch of mead with juniper berries mixed in
What is a good ratio from honey to water for a good mead that’s not to sweet and not to dry
What if you use red grapes?
meads always been popular.. its been a drink for as long as humans existed due to the ease of it.
No, I need more than honey water and yeast. I need siphons, whatever that stopper is, and all the rest of the damned equipment! Which I’m going to buy.
bro you are going to single handedly cause another prohibition
Who the hell compares mead with beer? xD
How much honey do you need per liter of water?
When i furst taught how to make mead, i was told that after bottling it, it needs to be refrigerated or it will keep fermenting and can explode the bottle, true or not?
Kinda true. If it’s sweetened, it’ll keep fermenting in the bottle. Even if fridged it’ll still explode eventually. There are steps to stop this though like chemical stabilizing or pasteurization
Its actually neither beer or wine, its own creation. Thats like saying all beer is just a different made malt. Its not true the process is different
Where can I get orange blossom honey lmk
So if I want more % I just have to mix in more honey after a while, right?
To a certain extent yes
Have you tried adding coffee beans to it?
Is there a max time limit on how long you can have it brewing I don’t know the correct word for it but basically could you just leave it till let’s say 20 years?🤔
Probably if it’s bottled right. It’s essentially wine and wine lasts a long time. None of my bottles have lasted anywhere close as long as that
@@Joker-em6oz really 😳
Can't wait to see kingcobrajfs in the comments, TWU Toobz!
TMDWU.
God my troles are more obsessed with me than I am with meaduh and duster!

Even if it was a crime, how would you get caught?
@@demaciasolos that’s true but at the same time it’s better safe than sorry 😂
Does it taste like honey?
I thought the starter kit was $50.
so if the problem is sediments, wouldnt using a centrifuge make your job a lot easier
Do you have bees?
Um, why didn't my 16 y/o self know about THIS??😂😂
okay fine I'll make my own mead
How to keep it from exploding after bottling?
Don’t sweeten it or stabilize it with chemicals or pasteurize it
Hmm I always thought/hoped mead was a very sweet alcohol. Bit disappointed lol
Me (underage) mhmm mhmm 📝

I'm gonna make mad honey mead wish me luck😂🤙
Why don’t you post a simple recipe in the comments section?
could be legal issues due to the production of alcohol or youtube TOS
This crap wont do crap to me. Even vodka takes forever to get me drunk.
What all materials and basic ingredients required?
Yeast container, sugar containing substance and water
does the airlocks prevent botulism?
The alcohol itself prevents this :)
In addition, yeast prefers acidic environments and botulism prefers basic
Where can I get the kit to do this?
You totally don’t need a kit. See if there a brew store in your area and they’ll help you out
How do I go about buying a siphon without looking suspicious?
Amazon or a brewing store
Can you make this alcohol free ??
If I made some I’ll let my friends try it 1st …… if they still alive after 10min I’ll try it to 😂
Mine won't be aged,it's for drinking ffs.
Probably cant sell it huh?

What’s the difference between fermenting and aging
During fermentation, the yeast are actively turning sugar into alcohol. During aging, no more sugar is being converted into alcohol. It is just sitting and slowly developing better flavor. I'm not sure what chemically happens during aging.
Fermentation is converting sugar to alcohol, aging is waiting for it to taste better
