That is the version lots of Korean pros tried, but ultimatly it failed as it was less effective than the meta tank Supports(especially in lane).
I think this is a much better build for the rest of us
tank scalling with ekko is kinda bad, because in S7 (i think) riot nerfed ekko tank top, so rn i this is pretty bad, only "tank" ekko i can manage to get good results is jungle with iron heart, demonic embrace + nashors
@@Junior.Nascimento there is a euw jungler who plays ekko with nashors+tank mythic most times iceborn, don't remember his name he was GM I think, saw him in a couple of spearshot and baus games of I remember correctly

Have played against it a couple of times... Can be really nasty, especially if you are immobile
I've been one tricking ekko for 3 years, playing him in every role i get filled into. I'm a jungle main but I always queue support as my second role because the success I have with ekko is just that good. Right now, I think it's even better than ekko mid which is supposed to be one of his main roles
When I started learning jungle my mate recommended echo, he's very fun but couldn't get my positioning right on him so learnt had success on viego. Started playing echo mid and he is so fun. Slowly getting his combos down pat without taking too much poke. Very funny to play on aram too
At this point any champs can be viable in every role nowadays

It's a lot of fun with a duo. You can really go balls to the wall and take a lot of risks others can't do. Quite a few high elo ekko mains do this when they get auto filled support

@@fastcow7013 Its not the supp players who flames off meta picks, its their adc and some other dumb players. I main supp and i feel like i can play anything and still do fine on support because i've enough knowledge, but when my adc goes "Taliyah supp sucks, she's jungle !" and doesn't know you get lvl 2 by taking a full wave + 3 melee minions, i'm facepalming.

Worth mentioning how critical the protobelt spike is due to its combo in Elmo’s kit. E q e Porto belt auto. Insta procs his passive - the Porto belt gives you an auto attack reset

jesus, i play ekko as a support too and just found this video after searching for ekko support builds, i even use the true damage skin like he does.
As an ekko main 've been doing this for a while ekko support is amazing. Only difference for me is I take HOB for the quick passive procs and Hextech flash to land long distance unexpected stuns from the bush even reaching turret range always catches everyone off guard xD
As a main I also love the pick ( he is great in botlane for BOTH roles , since a waveclear is great with correct runes even without a lead) . But as a supp , your choices seem legit , have you tried roaming runes , such as predator or water walking ?
HOB has been garbage ever since the cd stopped being the same as his E

I played a bit of this with another build sometime ago' went Radiant and waterflow staff' the playstyle was more focused on asissting tho.

In the same idea I think he should try ww support. He has infinite sustain so he never has to recall, has wild mobility to make roaming crazy easy and is very good at fighting early. I think the idea has potential
The unstoppable Q into E fear is also formidible and not something botlaners expect to deal with in a champion.
Way too easy to kite and massive mana issues. I could see it working against tank supports as a counter pick

My "support" also has been playing ekko support for a good 3-4 years. He recommends lich bane instead of nashers to "secure kills"

That at plat, lux is not a counter.
You see that q windup, e dodge it, aa jump at her face, and you don’t need to land a w at all cause she’s useless, but she’s gonna pointlessly run so w behind her, get your aa’s in while shielded watch her back and miss xp if she isn’t dead. Wrap around into q range in fog of war if you know where the jungle is, push her either towards your adc or towards 2nd turret and secure the kill.
Ofc ekko can be played everywhere.
That champ has a chase and/or escape on all his ability's.
Always wondered why ekko mains arent all diamond and above.

as a main supp, if there is at least one CC/shield/heal/buff, the champ is a support.
Just tried this out of the blue in plat 2 (dia elo) and lmao i went 11/5/12 and helped carry hard.
Never would've thought to wave push in the earlygame but it's so good, thanks for the informative video on a fun pick!

Im sad to see a support being played I can not int to so the enemy team can't get my bounty now :( It always cracked me up when I have a huge bounty so I just walk up to the enemy support and let them kill me under their tower so no one of value gets it

Been 1 trickling ekko mid/jg on and off since his release and never got past gold. Been playing this support style and instantly started climbing. Almost to plat within a few days. Great pick for anyone who already plays ekko.
How do you find these off meta picks?
What do you do when you cannot get the push lvl 1 cause you need to leash or there was a lvl 1 fiesta?
Use Q on the 3 ranged minions instead of the full wave
Ideally you can still get push
If not - you have to swap playstyle early and give up the push.
Wait for lvl 3 and then try a W stun + 2v2

Nope riot are happy with it as you could easily just write timers down yourself, so there is no actual advantage a good player couldn't also get
