@@sebaagers offmeta is good since people don't know how to play against it or what you are trying to do. This gives you the advantage if you know what you are meant to be doing.

He says it sucks in s13 due to the build - but he never found out about this new AD+AP build and First Strike style from 'Top Kaisa'- which makes it soooo much better.
The item order seems a little off. Wouldn't you need Luden's + Amp Tome to W evolve??

Cull->warhammer->muramana->lost chapter (evolved q now)->blasting wand->amp tome (evolve w now)->ludens->ionians->shadowflame->etc

Before the item rework i used to utilize the muramana passive to level up my Q a level earlier than it should, by using biscuits and manaflow band. manaflow + biscuits + the doran's blade were AWESOME to reach 100 AD early and having a super strong Q. My league life it's literally devoted to finding bizarre interactions between items, champs and runes, its so much fun.

As an adc Kai sa main, i feel you forgot to mention to buy a 435g book before completing ludens to evolve w, as its more important than finishing ludens. Also its most likely you need the extra mana from lost chapter (or maybe just the mana cristal that builds into lost chapter) to finish evolving q.

Nice video, just wish you also talked about how AP Kai'Sa usually goes for Lost Chapter + Blasting Wand + Amplifying Tome for the cheaper W evolve. Also, since you need an extra Sapphire Crystal to get Q evolve anyway, the mana from biscuits doesn't really matter because you'll be level 9 with close to enough manamune stacks by the time you get enough gold. Biscuits only make a difference if you want to get level 8 Q evo, or if you really need early sustain. Futures Market is usually better to hit certain item powerspikes smoothly.

@@claireredfield2481 pretty sure ap kaisa can work in midlane surprisingly fine. and heck it can work in botlane too. just use lethal tempo or some strong keystone to ensure you're early game does well enough to not auto lose to more oppressive foes.
been playing kai top, w this exact same build. only thing is that u get mad camped in lane but the 3 waves push back strat works, also just staying for the wave and then going in fog right away helped me .found out what i was doing wrong so thank u.
Great tip for offmeta players btw, just mute teammates in champion select (and ingame) . No more flaming offmeta picks and becoming the scapegoat for teammates bad mental! It will also guarantee honor 5 and probably increase your winrate

Edit: It fucking worked, went 12/1/5 against a fiora, having a teemo support, and still being the highest dmg, pretty fun to see it work, it's basically having a jhin 4th shot of the ult in a w with 7 seconds of cooldown if u miss it

manamune -> half finish luden + book, was a pretty normal start for mid/top kaisa, interesting from first strike since that's more based on poke/artillery, but if you're fighting bruisers it could be an interesting pivot to go for nashor. Completing passive marks is very important though. Could always go hail of blades or something to help lane, but this one's a bit of an old kr build.

I've been doing combo AP and AD builds on kai'sa for a little bit, but it's usually form going titanic and demonic while building bruiser
a couple of days ago i picked up support ap kaisa with hail of blades and it's such a good pick with ur early trades at lvl 2 that can take 50% of an enemy hp + ignite and u farm the support item gold with w and hail of blades then going to mid game and just spamming w on the enemy and u can two shot any squishy

I've been playing a style vers similar to this and if you can hit your powerspike (cuz there are games where your team loses at like 15 minutes even if you r playing safe :/) it's very very strong. It kind of breaks the game, so i wouldn't be surprised if rito somehow nerfed the ap build even more. Though i'd be disappointed bcs it's my favourite build ever

I played this in ranked and my teammates flamed me so hard both games (I played 2) but this strat actually worked really well both of the games I played with it.
There is as well hybrid kai'sa build which bases dmg on her W with navori.
Nashor > kraken > navori > ldr ( if you want to be autoattacker) / Rabadon (for passive) > Rabadon / shadowflame, boots either berserk or soccer or ionians, for reasons mentioned in the video. You can later tweak items to fit game requirements in late, when gold flows hard.
You can play it with either FS or lethal OR HoB (for assassin build, don't build as, prefer flat ap for passive prock and W dmg)
Dang, this is the ARAM build, but with first strike and biscuits, since it scales more reliably than the domination tree.
Makes me wonder what other ARAM builds we can port over with some tuning.

Ive been trying to pull off AP kaisa mid with those same items but with different runes. I only get good results when smurfing but not in actual serious games bc it takes too long to scale. Maybe First Strike is key to pulling it off or maybe top is better than mid for this playstyle. Any thoughts? @happychimenoises
Yes top is easier - as its much safer + better matchups and easier to reach 2 items since you can just afk farm.
If playing mid you kinda need a champ that can match roams/leave lane - but that just delays your powerspikes. (Thats why it was good in pro play - since faker could just afk farm mid and get a ton of dmg)

Ap Kaisa & Ap Varus top running the exact same build. (Though HOB + Manaflow band & Transcendence i love on Varus) is hilarious.
Either be a long range poke god with powerful resets. Or be the ultimate tank destroyer who can provide good cc in teamfights from a full screen away that has really powerful resets.
I think you should add ways how to counter these kinds of off meta picks too. This pick reminds me of Anathema’s Chains existence and would be an important rush if you’re playing a tank into Kaisa top. It would be able to mitigate damage while also making cc against her better too.
I try to add them as parts of the weaknesses, e.g with this one - dodging W is the biggest counter.
If kaisa doesnt hit W - she is 50% less useful.
Also ranged tops - easy to dive with a champ like elise, so thats a good option.

what do you think about the current lee sin taric bot lane? is it suitable for the game
I play a lot of ap/hybrid kai'sa mid. DH/Sudden Impact/ Eyeball collection/ treasure hunter, legend alacrity, coup de grace. Cull start, Manamune rush, straight into nashors then ludens. Then it's usually D-cap or collector depending on if we need more ad.
Farming is absurdly easy on this champ. I'm low gold elo and I consistently have 100 cs by 10:30-11 minutes. If you're ever about to miss a creep because you timed auto wrong, hit q. If you're about to miss a minion bc it's too far away look for w. You have to have decent movement so you don't get poked out by enemy skillshots, otherwise this won't work, since you'll be against mages and assassins.
Look for winning skirmishes in river and solo kills if your laner makes a mistake to stack alacrity and DH. Other than that, play safe AF and don't miss free cs. Once you have manamune/nashors/zerkers greaves, you become a huge threat and you have a lot of options for how you play teamfights. You can just poke with W from range, try to maximize dps like a marksperson autoing front to back and using q on cd, or you can all-in enemy backline when they get low/outnumbered. You get all evolutions with this build- alacrity gives you quicker e upgrade which helps a lot trying to survive/not giving away shutdowns.
I have about 60% wr rn after maybe 80 games on her (this season).
I like to do nashor too, I don't think she needs to stop giving auto atks because she is ap

I believe that horizon focus is unfortunately worse than shadowflame on almost every champion. I can't remember if the damage is bugged still but I have been told by a few players to avoid that item at all costs
You do like 200less dmg if you go horizon. And you get vision anyways if you land your W :)

Attack speed is just really good for csing and getting extra autos off early - so you can poke or manage wave easier. This build buys 0 attack speed so it's quite useful to have the free as from runes.
Ok so for every new AP Kai'sa enjoyer that will spawn after this vid :
Biscuit is not vital at all, it's actually suboptimal when Free Market give you 1 additional Mana Crystal on your back timing which translate to 6AD instead of Biscuit 3AD, also give you faster spike thought-out the game like the W and Mythic completion ones.
Also if you compare when Biscuits + Mana Flow give Q evo while Free Market ( with Crystal) + no Mana Flow you will see that it require specific stacking +lvl for 'his runes' to give Q evo while 'normal runes' don't, those are rare situation that happen lvl9 with high Manamune stack ( over 270) so it legit doesn't make a diff in 99% of the games played.
Same thing -> Transcendence and Ionian boots are suboptimal, barely 0.35s CD diff when hitting W (which make no diff for Passive proc) and 2s diff when missing.
Sorc and Gathering are way too insane on AP Kai'sa to trade it for things that only 'help you ' when you miss your most important and almost only ability you use in fights.
Max W 2nd not E, E max when going this build give low value -> MS is very little, AS doesn't matter since you don't AA, W dmg you get from maxing it is just better( go from 30 to 130 base) especially since you spam this ability.

I would really have to argue against this. He is a far better player than me and his play style fits the build however biscuits still feels like a wasted rune especially given how much as is provided by ravenous hydra. Everything kaisa has except passive scales with as as well as ap. It can be argued that having ravenous gives more damage than any single ap item while also giving her more pushing power and auto damage. I’ll admit that my play style for kaisa top is lethal tempo. Early not wasting mana on q and relying on autos to push waves for early advantage and far better all in with auto reliance. The build is manamune (+some ravenous components) then nashor Luden’s (or rift which I am still testing) then Dcap Mejai while selling boots. If low on stacks Mejai is replaced by focus which gives 10% bonus damage to ranged abilities while also increasing your damage on the target you hit. This makes both your poke and assassination engage better. Personally I rely on passive and nashor for dps rather than hoping that I poked the enemy down enough beforehand. If one wanted the build I suggest to go with his play style it would be luden manamune ravenous focus Dcap Mejai. The pure damage on kaisa from high scaling items does more than pen. The effect of focus providing 10% damage is definitely worth more than flame with better stats and passive. Void is more debatable in certain contexts. Good player. Good play style. Just not the only one and definitely not taking full advantage of kaisa
Edit for clarification: While first strike and its damage increase are interesting (especially when paired with horizon focus) I would argue that it isn’t enough to justify the rest of the inspiration tree.
Edit 2: one way I can be wrong. Maybe I have the luxury of playing against bad players and biscuits is actually vital to surviving in lane. In this case it can be argued that I am wrong about the runes but I would still stand my ground on saying that focus is better than shadow flame and void in most situations given this play style.
Edit 3: I will further admit that since ravenous is no longer omnivamp it is less efficient now than before but my argument stands even considering this.
Final edit: I and he were wrong about biscuits. 100 ad is NOT required for q upgrade. So what I said about manaflow band, buying ravenous components first, and biscuits are wrong because that was based on that assumption. The amount she needs goes down per level down to 66. Because of this I am deleting most of edit 1. This same effect applies to kaisas e. At max level only 75 attack speed is required. With this my build allows one to get all 3 upgrades. Build starts with mm, nashor, and attack speed boots. Once you hit this spike all three upgrades are unlocked. To truly explain the play style difference I play off of autoes in the early game and conform to his style late game. I do this because the attack speed from her e and items allows for your close range trades to do far more damage than poking by taking advantage of passive and lethal tempo. As the game goes on and you build up more ad and ap your w begins doing far more damage than your q and autoes. This may lead you to ask why I build ravenous despite it being lifesteal now. This is due to her w halving almost triple the ad ratio compared to the ap ratio. It is 130% ad ratio to 45% ap ratio. This allows for her w to scale optimally in 2 ways. Build ad for higher damage or build ap with magic pen to increase the % of the damage used. I argue for increasing the damage and relying more on the mixed damage of autoing for killing tanks who build mr to counter you. Remember that ravenous’s ad increases your ad output. From ravenous I get rift or Ludens. This depends on the enemies. Ludens is better for squishies with low time to kill and rift is better vs tanks. Rift can also to an extent outdamage Ludens against squishies during the assassination combo. W hits and enemy and puts you in combat. 3 seconds later when you go in to rw all of your damage is increased by 9 percent and that portion does true damage. Next I would get death cap. This will provide the highest increase in the w’s damage and start the transition to pure poke sniper kaisa. Finally you sell boots for mejais. This takes away e and goes all in on your w damage. Lethal tempo and attack speed have served their purpose now you are to play safe and stack Mejai through safe poking style. Once enough gold has been acquired sell nashors tooth for horizon focus. With this your build is complete with all the best components for long range high damage poke (focus also increases the assassin combo). To lay it out sequentially manamune -> berserkers -> nashor (e q w upgraded) -> ravenous -> rift/luden -> Dcap -> Mejai selling boots (shift primarily to the poke style with the ability to fight when dove) -> horizon focus selling nashor (full shift to poke). An additional quality is that having this shifting play style makes it harder for the enemy team to play around you. Early they don’t want to ambush you because you are good in all ins. Later they don’t want to be far from you as you will poke them down. This can confuse enemies and start arguments about how to play around you. Finally for runes and my favorite mythic. For runes lethal triumph alacrity coup, absolute focus gathering ap ap hp. This fits my early and mid game play style (until i sell boots). For a build that fits his playstyle but doesnt sacrifice kai'sa's passive is hail of blades taste of blood eyeball collection treasure hunter absolute focus gathering storm. My favorite mythic is rift because it scales in melee fights providing health and omnivamp but it also provides more ap and increasing damage with combat time which you can control as the person who initiates with your range. Additionally its passive increases all of his damage not just his w. Now knowing why I like rift it may seem like a contradiction to not like first strike. This is because it is not continuous, it’s gold passive loses effect, and the rest of the inspiration tree feels wasteful. This is especially true when they described the pick as pure scaling which the inspiration tree is not. It could be argued that going comet manaflow absolute focus and gathering storm is far better if scaling is your goal. Early poke is better, more mana is provided, more ap is provided, and provides a nice ap ratio with a lower cooldown than first strike (because the cooldown decreases with your abilities hit so you can get more comets by spamming w then first strike). To be more consistent with his stated goal going comet manaflow absolute focus gathering eyeball collection ravenous hunter. Eyeball collection directly scales your ap and ravenous hunter provides a gold engine faster than first strike does (without futures market). Now this is only if his goal is to scale safely and produce gold. If his goal is purely to scale damage DH taste of blood eyeball ingenious hunter (scales mm faster and increases luden procs) absolute focus and gathering storm will sure that goal better. If his goal is to get as much gold as possible he would have gone fs boots futures cosmic, eyeball treasure hunter. I just rewatched to confirm his runes and even assuming that kaisa needs 100 ad for q upgrade manaflow, biscuits, manamune, AND Luden’s is too much with little point on the return. His items make sense with his play style (not having nashor) but I argue he is missing out on the ad component of w, getting unneeded stats in mana, and focusing too much on pen rather than ap/ad. For his runes I would argue that as my comet page better aligns with his stated goals for the runes than his own. I am thankful that one of the champions I play top has made it onto the list like varus but also like that person I disagree with the runes and items. I get my Q evolve at lvl9 because of manaflowband and biscuits. At min 10:30 only farming and poking. If you get a soloq it would surely speed your Q evolve up to lvl8. Most of the time you ll get ganked camped so you cant really trade back on lane. I have also thought about Hydra! But the problem ist you lack of dmg on mid game. So the main idea on Kaisa top ist about how to fix a losing team. You cant just walk in and auto if your entire team is losing. Ad kaisa still need peeling from a front what makes it so difficult to try a comeback. So there are times where you are not allowed to play the lane, since you get camped. So you have to find a solution for it too. And ad Kaisa wont get throw that easy on higher elo. I think if you go my item build with ludens 2nd with losing teamates then you can still get easier peaks on the enemy team and catch shutdowns. If you go ad dont really have options like starting a fight oder catch someone. I believe the W evolve with ludens gives Kaisa to much potential to get a come back from a game where you got stomped. I hope i could you a little to understand my itembuild pathing and runes. Ofc there are matchups where you can go ad, but what if you get camped and your team loses. Also i think Kaisa can adept pretty well with first strike and poking down the enemy. Since free boots and faster q evolve and preasuring the map by taking attention from their jungler. And about hydra again. You dont need hydra if you never gonna take dmg. And what if enemy buys mr. Then you rush voidstuff then shadowflame to still beeing usefull since APCs and ADCs are oneshots with that build. So you can adept a kit with the AP. Gathering storm downt give you bonus ad so you cant fast evolve your Q after manamune. There is really a lot about Kaisa to say. ^^
@@zhongoida I understand but your thought about trying to speed up the build to solver her problems and spike early but my thought although probably more naive stems from aggression rather than the safety yours provides. Additionally you are looking to impact the map early while I look to fight top as much as possible. You use her to escape ganked I play for baiting them. I’d love to talk more in depth but this isn’t the place to do it I think.
