How much goes to the tribe?
@@1308SPAZZ Zero
@@itsjustme5620 Why do you say that?
The song of soul. No artificial. Everything natural and original. Respect to you.
Brah. They’re singing about cannibalism. That ain’t right chief.

Rest in peace Loni, may your music bring more joy and continue to be played for centuries to come... your legacy is music, thanks so much.
This where all music come from you can feel it in your soul
Did the hip hop yodeling give that away?
Mozart?
lol
In fact Africans people all over the world (also in Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica, USA, UK) have a lot of music in their blood. You sing and dance like you still are in there. There's always something of tribal.
I don't feel anything. this music sucks
the textures and the harmonies are so beautiful!!!!! my western brain can’t figure out all of these polyrhythms but man they sound amazing
I'd love it if someone notated it and analysed it. I certainly can't!
hello be more specific when you say western world cause am african born in western world and i can relate to that cause we have that kind of vibes where am from in the western world am also a musician.
lmao
😊
It’s like a waterfall or shifting clouds I love it
They are an incredibly charming and unique people.
The woman leading the chorus and the young girl with the leaves around her waist and head are so darling.
Loni (the leading woman) is still well and singing. Unfortunately Sobi, (the girl dancing) died a couple of years ago while giving birth to a healthy baby when she was just 17. She would have died a year earlier if we hadn't been there to pay for medical help when she had a miscarriage. We are working to improve health conditions. You can help at 1heart (dot) org
Just to know their names really means a lot. Especially, Sobi. Now that I know she is an ancestor, I will speak power and love onto her name. It is so great to know what you all are doing in Cameroon and how you are connecting your ancient Celtic music to their indigenous vibration; that is very powerful. I will most definitely be donating and please keep updating this channel with these wonderful videos. ~ Give thanks!
humans...
Of them?
Loni sadly passed in November 2018. I saw her just before she went, leaving a huge hole in the campment. She's with the ancestors now.
The ending is so precious, that smile 😁
Wonderfull and Sweet... It makes me see the Congo Rainforest!!!
The Congo Rainforest is --- the world’s second largest tropical forest--- spans six countries, and contains a quarter of the world’s remaining tropical forest... With annual forest loss of 0.3% during the 2000s, the region has the lowest deforestation rate of any major tropical forest zone.
The Pygmee tribe is incredibly talented and full of culture. I hope they are safe in the Congo Rainforest & I also hope the spirits continue to protect them. I’m sending my people a lot of love from where I am. They never cease to make me so proud 🤍.
They make me very proud to be African too.
Pygmee is not a tribe and their name is not Pygmee
anyone else sent here from sideways and really happy they were?
ayyyy
yep
The San people in Southern West Africa also sing exactly like this. Wow🦋
定期的に見に来ちゃうんだよなぁ〜
The leading woman killed it..just kept rewatching her part
Lmaoo she was killed you mean nigga
The complex vocal polyphony reminds me alot of arabic scales. It’s so beautiful to watch & listen. I felt my spirit rose in frequency listening. Truly beautiful!! ❤
Racism has no place here. I've seen more people born and more people die amongst these brothers and sisters than I have back home. We are family, these are my people, I am theirs. These people are far more civilised than you. They don't try to make war on the basis of the colour of other people's skin. Your racism only reflects on you.
I feel you my brother i am Turkish and we Turks now that Africans will stat strong we Turks are sending money to Africa becouse we now how hard it is there
Wakanda fovever
This video is racist kinda. It shows african monoculture with only african people showing their unique culture. Where are asians, whites or arabs?
@@itsjustanapple5452 that's not racist
Making assumptions is also pretty rude too
Sounds beautiful! I love the way the green leaves wrapped around their brown skin looks so earthy!
Nigga they just 2 poor to buy clothes
This makes my heart so happy: Her voice comes from Heaven.
the flow is so real.. started jamming immediately to this
so beautiful!
A notch higher than awesome...
Wow, thanks for sharing / this is truly beautiful
This brings me to tears every time...So Beautiful!
Great video, I love tribal chanting.
The power of their voices is amazing. I would have never heard this if not for Baka Beyond, who are also amazing. I am a guitar player mostly influenced by metal music but I can appreciate the beauty of the music of this culture, as a lot of other people can. As I sit in my sterile western world box I realize that music is truly universal.
so true true
The western world is not sterile, the technophilic postmodern world is. Listen to Mozart's Queen of the Night aria, slavic folk music like Bre Petrunko, or even Agnus Dei and tell me the West is sterile.
I dislike a huge amount of American/British music. Like most people I have my preferences, in my case mainly classic rock/metal, blues, etc.
But this? I couldn't listen to an entire set list of this, it would drive me insane. To my western ears, this is repetitive noise. Ironically, so is most modern day pop music. Just my opinion.
That music reaffirms my opinion that guitars should only be played..... With a small axe
@@knumbugs 👍👍👍. Yep.. a little sample only
Beautiful.. please continue singing ,teaching and reaching out... I'm grateful for your strong voice
Every year I watch this video...
So touching..sound vibrate through your soul...
Absolutely amazing love it!
Thank you for posting this, bakabeyond. I have a strong interest in ethnomusicology as a fallout of my own field of study, and I could not have hoped to hear a better recording of this musical style among the Baka women. What a privilege that we have such dedicated scholars, consultants, and consultant-scholars who have taken the time and energy required to make this unique singing style available for us all to hear. We are indebted to the Baka women for their generosity.

I get so happy when I come across these beautiful songs n people 💪🔥😇 proud African
I have never seen a group with more captivating and beautiful folk music, people the world over find them selves amazed by it. I bet it feels even more amazing in person. They truly test the limits of the human voice.
good recording, beautiful music
This is heaven. My heaven as sound.
11 years yet, what a sound, this is truly amazing, I bet a few people of this footage still alive, but they transmiss this trought the air and the culture, beautiful
True, many of them are no longer with us. We miss them greatly.
This is so beautiful.
Bakabeyond. This is beautiful and amazing. Thanks for sharing.
THIS IS POWERFULL, BLESSES ME EVERY MORNING
We certainly do! They are being denied access to more and more of the forest, even by conservationists such as WWF. We need to lobby them to make the Baka central to all decisions about forest conservation. They have been the guardians of the forest for generations.
So who's representing them? I hope their rights are upheld and respected.
buy them guns
@Kelli Andrews It is their neighbours who always take their land. It is the desire for cheap chocolate in the developed world that makes their land desirable to their neighbours as the Baka have no real desire to be chocolate farmers. The world is a complex web and we are all tied up in it.
Absolutely beautiful just amazing
Baka people: yodeling
South Germans: Finally, A Worthy Opponent , Our Battle Will Be Legendary!
😂 Po
yodelling is actually quite common in different cultures such as the throat chants
@@CrankyB1tsch Varying styles though, most of the time it's less the western concept of yodeling and more within the form of Pow-Wow,whereas this actually isn't far off from German Folk Music.
This is better though, more rhythm to it.
*Swiss ;)
amazing!!!
Sounds are amazing 😍
So hypnotic.. their voices are beautiful, they are a true gift to the forest in which they sing
Fantastic! Delightful! Thank you!

Inspired? It’s in our blood quite literally
@@Theemumi I was specifically talking about the jazz singer, Leon Thomas, who referenced this group of people as influence.

Thanks. Lots more traditional Baka songs at czcams.com/video/JAYN8GT0N6g/video.html
There is a sacredness and importance in all of music, but you can feel it especially in something like this! It is beautiful to see and hear music making that is so ingrained as part of a culture instead of the Western tendency for music as a product. There is so much heart in this recording! Her smile at the end says it all :) Thank you for recording and sharing this!
Beautiful voice,
Hi thankyou God bless you
Superb beyond belief. The sound quality on your videos is shockingly good,I never stop being blown away by that!
That was awesome, thank you for sharing with us. Over ten years it has been on CZcams and only just over 540,000 views, I would certainly expect more than that.
absolutely amazing. just filled my heart with spirit. wow.!! they are beautiful..and one with God the great spirit...wow...mmph mmph mmph...
This is the original inspiration behind that old cliche' Tarzan yell.
Beautiful music and beautiful people.
My friends, that is the sound of God
Stunning! Subscribed.
Wow, in the 80's the BBC had a documentary series based on the Baka tribe. That was family viewing in our home. I am British of Nigerian blood watching as a child I began to understand the diversity within Africa, mind blowing and beautiful.
It is so old...it is so much a part of me..it gives me the chills...
Canto de libertad. Gracias por compartir. :-)
#Beautiful ❤️💯
I recently discovered this on CZcams I'm fell in love with those people they are so unique I would love to meet them on day .. i
They can make such beautiful music.
Love this. Beautiful & haunting. Thanks for the upload.
Some peoples of Central Africa suffered epidemics of lockjaw in their historical past & the teeth extractions may be a cultural relic of this (see Patterson's Man Eaters of Tsavo).
