9:48 Rowan has to tell the security guard he's actually part of the show!
Was going to say the same
Yes, that's wonderful. I love the fact they didn't cut it but just let him go on. 🤣
It made it even funnier.
I think he should have done this sketch dressed as Gerald….😅😅😅
Great how they didn't tell the security guard!
Proof that UK politics have done nothing in the last 40 plus years about anything.
It's called the Human Condition, and you happen to live in the bit of it that gives you the most priviliges and the most freedom and the most economic opportunity ever known by Humans. This programme wouldn't have been allowed or even possible in most countries in 1979.
@@pauloliver6813It's the human condition but then you say we have it better than anywhere else.
Unless you're saying the rest of the world isn't human, pick one.
@@pauloliver6813 Although it wouldn't be allowed here, as a newly-created show, in 2024.
This was a brilliant show!
Found it! Rowan's rant about that Esther Bloody Rantzen Bloody woman. Gold! Thanks for posting!
Thank you for the subtitles duh! It helps me understand as a non native English speaker, I always look for subtitles
Ahhh ! Current RAF recruitment policy ? How did they discern that so far in advance ?
I remember the name of the show, and I use to think of it as the second wave of British comedy (first one the Monty Python, Third The Young Ones)...
ALL of the greatest Britton comedians came from those shows - I love you all❤
But since I actually havent seen Not 9oclock since it was aired in Sweden 40 years ago, I only remember ONE sketch: A Truckdriver who places (like WW1-fighter pilots) a sticker on his door for every hedgehog he ran over!!! I still remember how I laughed my ass of, and now this 56-year old fart found the series here!!!
Ill keep on watching, thanx for posting😂
Love from Sweden
♬ I like trucking, I like trucking, I like trucking and I like to truck! ♫
Oh, how they looked in to the future…..😊😅😂
Wait until after the end credits for a Marvel movie-like post credits end scene. Que?
saw some of these a few years ago looking kind of soggy, but the sound and picture quality is much improved. Kudos to whom ever did the work. 👍
The early days when there were 5 of them.
Four, plus one convicted nonce
Griff Rhys-Jones was a guest tho.
So prophetic. Or perhaps nothing really changes over 40 years
Wouldn’t get away with it nowadays 😂
5:21 Good acting by Griff Rhys-Jones.
his debut?
@@marguskiis7711 Yes. Not The 9 O'Clock News was Griff Rhys-Jones was his debut.
Some Times seeing this goodies of brits comedies IT SEEMS very real... 😂😂😂😂
Before snowflakes, PC's and Woke! A much better world then. Keep it up (If you know what I mean)
Fascist bullies and coked out securities traders?
You mean when you weren’t old and miserable.
Well: we're no longer poorest country in the eec! Any other problems? JUST ORGANISE A PIGGING REFERENDUM!
Don't find a lot of this funny today in 2023 but at the time thought it hilarious & talked about it the next day after school, still, I was 14. A lot of water a lot of bridges. Still, nice to look back, thanks for posting.
This was only the second ever show. It hadn't really hit it's stride at this point.
I'm sure the "Search for the contact lens" joke was used again in a later episode. The part with the man hanging onto the clock face of Big Ben seems familliar
its from 'the 39 steps'.
Some of the jokes came from the unaired pilot episode.
16:24 Quantum Leap.
Can’t understand a word a word from 9:40.
It’s probably my fault
9:38 the guard was about to eject rowan atkinson from the audience which he thought was a crazy audience member
that's how unpopular the show was
@@usernametaken6566 oh sorry i forgot to mention that it was when the show was just on its first few episodes
Tony in eastenders cant remember his real name
9:51 man on left looks genuinely freaked out
I thought at first it might have been Brian Wilde in his Porridge guise, and over-politely ask Rowan to leave!
It's sad how Chris Langham turned out, he clearly had talent.
He made a stupid mistake. It doesn't define him and shouldn't be seen as his entire identity.
At the 3 minute sketch, this is now!!!! Wokeness lol. They saw the future. Love to get a load of snowflakes to watch this
Yawn.
You are right, that's how Kamala Harris got the job
Malvine War is just on the corner... 1982...Old Brits Mentality of being an Empire.// They Did not know THEIR cousins across the pound took already THEIR place...😂
The Falklands War bolstered that mentality. So, thank you for that.
As for our cousins across the pond. Everyone loves Canadians! 🇨🇦🇬🇧
@@mixtapesfrommylatepartner I MENT US.... NOT AT ALL CANADA... THIS IS A VERY DIFFERENT STORY...OK!?
@@viorelpiscanu9425 I'm gonna add a thumbs up to the one you've already given your own comment. To cheer you up.
Made me laugh i forgot how funny those theses days to some would be over stepping the mark.
😂😂
8:38 how much would this not be allowed now?
“Help! I'm blind, and I _think_ I'm black!"
They got better than this...no bean counter would let a series do that anymore. They'd have to be at least rating OK for the timeslot and budget from the get go...which is why there's no outstanding comedy shows only stand up...
Chris Langham had no chemistry with Rowan Atkinson. Mel Smith and Pamela Anderson.
Didn`t last long
Pamela stevenson
@@DanielWebb-jn8kuyup, though by remarkable coincidence Pamela Stevenson looks like a cross between Pamela Anderson and Debra Stephenson
Thats the most dreadful comedy, I can't believe people were that far gone back then.
~ 2:36 ~ That's the actual world map! Africa and Greenland proper size! Interesting that all the white places got bigger post 1980s.
12:56 What the UK would look like if the Americans-to-be hadn't decided to stop at the North American shorelines after they won their War of Independence.. 😂

When we still had comedy before political correctness & woke brain washing.
How many of us want to go back to the 80's when life was far better than today with immigrants as prime minister & the vile London who both hate the English because of British rule in India many years ago.
You’re just old and miserable.
End it, there’s no point going on.
The world will keep on changing and you’ll just get more and more miserable.
