I saw Cannon & Ball on stage in Skeg a few years back. They were entertaining but they will never be as good as Eric & Ernie and the Two Ronnies, besides Bobby Ball is dead now
I was 12 just in 1982, i can hear mum & dad laughing still as i was in bed trying to sleep, the two of them where just superb, others aswell. My mum told some years later when we sat and talked about the past as i was older, and she always said it wasnt just the actors who where great ofcourse but we had great writers and they get overlooked, but without going on i always think about the past and they where great times, i was lucky. Godbless them both.
So fortunate to have lived and enjoyed their brilliant comedy, now 42 yrs later on watching again,I laughed so much again.thank you for uploading this treat !!
Such wonderful talent, the very best of entertainment, having given so much laughter to everyone. No question about it, we have no one to take their place. The world is a sadder place without them. R.I.P
I thank these two for being a part of my childhood..as a family we would always watch the specials. God I miss it. So happy I found it here..adding them to a Christmas Playlist to watch them for a bit of good laughs and cheer.
Not everything on TV was as good as the Two Ronnies back then, but God, looking back it's so refreshing to remember how good it was not to be subjected to foul-mouthed political activists masquerading as "comedians" or "reality" tv every time you turned it on.
I CAN'T FORGET THIS, WE MOVED INTO THIS HOUSE IN THE OCTOBER, '82'. AND ENJOYED OUR FIRST CHRISTMAS, INCLUDING THIS GREAT SKETCH. NOW, 42 YEARS LATER, THANKS TO Y.T. WE CAN ENJOY IT AGAIN.
Remember seeing this live on TV 1982. I was 10. Shops were full of star wars stuff and Willy Wonka and Wizard of Oz were on TV as usual. Soda stream time.
Absolutely brilliant them two. Never be comedy like that ever more's the pity. They made Saturday night for me when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s.
I remember when we waited for months looking forward to their Christmas special. Happier simpler days. Now it's just crass banal so called celebrity posers being anything but amusing.
Well here I am in 2022, & isn’t it lovely to have a good laugh, such a load of crap on TV these days. Thank goodness we have these gems to fall back on !!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Paul Wilson me to, I loved the 2 Ronnie's, Ronnie barker was genius, and Ronnie Corbett was a great partner, their shows were so witty, funny, and clever, great comedy that will live on forever, brilliant
The Two Ronnies take a little dig here at Chas and Dave, who on the same Christmas night where presenting their own Christmas Special "Chas and Dave's Christmas Knees Up" over on ITV. The Two Ronnies Christmas Show aired 7.30-8.15pm on BBC One, with Chas and Dave's special aired from 9.50-10.50pm over on ITV that night.
Had to come see some of these TWO RONNIES WITH THE PASSING OF RONNIE THIS WEEKEND so sad anyway imagine the reunion they will be having. RIP both of you.
Whatever the cultures what ever the religion , You are forced to Love the Two Ronnies. RIP .. Probably would have been a laughter once they went up .. two amazing Souls...
34 Michael McIntyre fans stuck their thumbs down. This is comedy from a time where you didn't need to swear or be offensive. Harmless family stuff. Shame it was probably one of the last ones before they packed up. I remember watching this with my grandma when I was 11. Christmas memories, this always takes me back. Easy to pick at something 30+ years old. But I think it has become fashionable to have a go at what came before. Let's see what new "comedy" on TV now will be being watched 35 years on!
When Ronnie B mentioned Syd living in Croydon. Ronnie C did live about 3 miles from Croydon. About 5mins walk from my front door at that time. Regularly saw his Roller pass by , given the impression there was no one at the wheel.
This brings back happy memories for me of those great Christmas specials from those masters of comedy the Two Ronnies. It certainly beats the comedy of today including The Pub Landlord or whatever his name is. He is about as funny as a wet paper bag.
If this is on BBC1 on Christmas Day 2018, I'll watch it again. It might be on Yesterday TV at Christmas as they are showing Two Ronnies shows and Porridge at the moment.
The best Christmas special the Two Ronnies did. This the special as seen on the DVD as the bells sketch replaced the Brighton Pier musical number that was seen on TV!
when christmas night telly was worth watching generation game .mike yarwood morcombe and wise dick emery not like the utter crap we have to sit through now i miss those days
The guy wearing the yellow hat behind Ronnie Barker in the Chas & Dave sketch, also appeared in a couple of episodes of Last Of The Summer Wine, again as a background extra, in the pub scenes.
8:31 I love how the audience laughs twice. Once at the idea that piranhas would be a "surprise in the bath" and a second time when they realize what Lill MEANT by a "surprise in the bath".
Thankfully Ronnie Barker is not like that in real life but he was so extremely talented he was excellent playing unsavory characters like that and all kinds both Ronnies they will be missed but their legacy lives on and they are timeless
23:30 What a lovely car XJ-6 KLL 629V the quietest smoothest best ride quality ever cool inside in summer excellent thermostatic heater cruise all day at 90 mph
I remember this as a child, even though I was six. I actually thought they were Chas and Dave. Who I'd seen live in the audience for Crackerjack. It was so funny though when my daughter first saw Ronnie Corbett. He was a guest on Strictly Come Dancing and when he came down the stairs my daughter said "Who's that little man?" "Well it's Ronnie Corbett". "But he's so little Mum. Is he a real person?" "Yes, he's just short." "Well, I don't think he is real. He must be a robot man or something. He is very funny though." "Well, yes, that's his job." My daughter and I often have these surreal conversations.
They were a classic pair, O how far TV and comedy has fallen. We shall never see the likes of the Two Ronnies again, they were outstanding.
I agree
Comedy today is not Funny unlike these classic funny shows🤣
They really made Christmas special xxxx
They're irreplaceable
@@mikelenton4501 👍👍

The greatest comedy duo of all time who drew in millions of viewers, and for good reason. They were the very best. R.I.P to them both.
Back to the future the 2 Ronnie's style
The top 2 comedy duos were Eric & Ernie and The Two Ronnies
@@simonwarner6594 Cannon and Ball are up there.

The best comedy duo ever.
No Ronnie barker was a gifted genius,Corbett was an also ran.
Which other comedies did Corbett star in? None.
I thank these two for being a part of my childhood..as a family we would always watch the specials. God I miss it. So happy I found it here..adding them to a Christmas Playlist to watch them for a bit of good laughs and cheer.
Me too. I was a child back then and loved these two.

That's just it, even the sub par stuff back then was better.
Right you are! Thanks for your comment!
Actually I love being told by a load of Asian and blacks, how much they hate living in a white country
Lol, you actually sound like one of the routines, only not as funny, or as well put together.
@onawhim9079 you sound liek one of those white facists that read the Guardian and live in Clapham

My beloved Granny was dead just one month when this show was aired. I was 9 years old. She passed away 11 November 1982. Memories. 😢😢😢
Many people of my age , 60, will have so many great memories of this classic comedy duo, and can I say , you can rest in riotous peace.
Here here !!!!😂😂
I was 22 years old when I watched this it’s still got it 👍 thanks for putting up 👏👏👏

Great show, lots of fun and laughs.
the jokes come so rapidly that it's easy to miss such gems as: He can pickle onions just by breathing on them - priceless
When TV was great not like the PC junk we have today!
Absolutely brilliant classic comedy.makes me really nostalgic for the good old days when comedy was actually funny.
It was comedy for the show family

Telly before patronising the audience was popular.
