    Love the content - thank you for this! As someone who is interested in athletic training and physical therapy, it is kind of shocking how this continues to happen to Lamelo. A lot of people are talking about braces, which I imagine would help, but I am also curious if the training regimen he is on could be improved. So early in the season to have an injury like this, with minimal contact, and as you alluded to - a seemingly, biomechanically efficient landing.

    Hey, can you cover Gavi’s injury playing with Spain last week on international duty?
    The mechanism was weird, because he first got in a collision with another player, but then appeared to play on for several minutes and then came off after a non-contact tweak. Did he partially tear it in the first collision and then finish the job a few minutes later? Or did it go completely and then he just played on a knee with no ACL, running and jumping, until he landed with a twist and felt it too much? Very strange; seems like the sort of content you could shed some light on.
    Plus, it’s Barcelona. Everyone clicks on Barca videos. 😂

  • @kjdskgj
    @kjdskgj Před 6 měsíci +2

    What that looked like to me is a so called high ankle sprain. Which can happen when the leg is rotating but the foot gets stuck on the floor. That's usually more painful and takes more time to recover from than a low ankle sprain, which is the traditional rolled ankle. That they called it strain might just be careless reporting; not unusual when it comes to Hornets' injury reports.

    LaMelo has this relaxed or "cool" way of posture, in which his body isnt working together. In this case, he is landing while also horizontally moving and I dont see much flexing in his hip or knee, sure there is some, but not much. If you look at the ankle and foot there is a lot of flexion tho (and I think in his lower back too), so to me it looks as if the foot is like taking a fall for the whole body here, which it just doesnt survive.

    It doesn't need to roll very far after a return from a severe ankle injury you can "TWEAK IT" and it hurts like HECK because your ankle is still weak for up to a year or longer... then it seems like it gets more durable after about 2 years post injury. Ballers know and I would say strain because he didn't fully sprain the ankle again he just tweaked it and its alot more sensitive and painfull then if he had that same tweak motion prior to catastrophic injury....he will back sooner than expected but they will probably hold him out for safety concerns. And his Puma shoes with the hard as a rock outsole with no cushion too slow the roll that extends to a 90 degree angle catches the ankle and you get injured. Think did he have an issue with ankle injuries prior to Puma?

    For some reason NBA stars brake a nail and they're hurt. Feelings hurt and the situation for 3 to 6 months.

    Dude has to be serious about wearing shoes that are safe for him to play in. Safety has to come first when he's promoting these shoes he's wearing. No more excuses. He doesn't want what happened to his brother to have happen to him.

    Too much focus on shooting drills and zero focus on strength training, that’s how most modern “pros” prepare nowadays. That mixed with “hi-tops aren’t cool” theory, everyone wearing low-cut shoes like Durant last season in his first layup line as a Phoenix Sun, it happens waaaaay too often than it used to, back when I used to watch 🤓👍
