- Last year I reacted to medical scenes from The Simpsons. One of you suggested I should reacted to South Park medical scenes, and I challenged you to get that comment to 10,000 likes. Boy did you deliver! So, to cash that check, I sat down and reacted to medical scenes from Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s Comedy Central sensation, South Park. There was a ton of hilarious stuff in here and plenty of opportunities for me to talk about some medicine! While Cartman’s gingervitis might not be real, gingivitis is and there are tons of myths about red/ginger hair and freckles. I also discussed Kyle’s need for a kidney transplant, Stan confronting “naturopaths” selling miracle supplements, Cartman getting shots for vaccines and vaccinations, and the antics of Dr. Doctor. We’ll save Kenny’s unfortunate endings for another time ;)

Ketamine is a schedule three drug which means a doctor doesn’t even have to prescribe it
What are you talking about? Schedule III means a doctor or animal vet administering ketamine to patients under their supervision have to register and apply for approval to dispense the medication with the DEA. These schedule changes to many potentially addictive substances were made partially as a means of limiting substance abuse, and also as a “tough on crime” response to jail people in need of treatment during the most ignorant times of the government’s obsession with trying to convince Americans it’s war on drugs wasn’t an abysmal failure.

0:22 As an adult with a fear of needles, thank you. I always ask doctors to keep the needle out of my eyesight when I need to get a shot. Most oblige the request, but for some reason, as a kid, I had a doctor who thought that having me see the needle would somehow calm me. It was insanely stupid and just made me fight the doctor as a kid. The doctor literally never learned and I grew up fighting the doctor every single time.

Maybe I was just a different sort of kid, but doctors and nurses trying to do that gave me an absolute terror of shots (like hiding under the table and lashing out at anyone who comes near kinda terror) well into my teens. I eventually got over it mostly, but to this day I HAVE to see it coming. If I have to get a shot somewhere I can’t see I require a mirror, otherwise I run the risk of a panic attack.
A nurse learned the hard way when I was about 4 or so, she didn’t even tell me I was going to get stuck and she thought she was being smooth about it. Then she stuck me and immediately learned 2 things. First, that maybe being stealthy about shots isn’t the greatest idea; and second, that a 4 year old can punch much harder than one would expect.
This is way more hilarious than the attention given to it!

Ginko is a pretty ancient species of tree that has duck feet shaped leaves and has seeds that smell like dog fecal matter. Its really bad trust me.
the movie spelled that because they do not want to get copyrighted by Ginkgo Biloba, a Filipino herb that naturally increases memory and it cares for the brain.
I always love these videos, so educational and neat to see an expert explain how these things would work

In reference to the “ginger” episode. Cartman forces everyone to believe that gingers are evil and that Kyle is one of the worst ones. So they end up segregating them from the other kids. So In retaliation Kyle bleaches cartmans skin and dyes his hair.

That's pretty succinct, except that he never said Kyle was one of the worst ones. In fact, it was the opposite - he called Kyle "a daywalker", which is someone who lacks the standard skin pigmentation deficiency of regular gingers. He of course still wasted no time to rip on Kyle, prompting the latter to pull this prank on him.
On a side note, those are always my favorite types of South Park episodes where Cartman gets punished for his horrible antics. Awesome-O and Le Petit Tourette are other examples that immediately come to mind.

Since it is said Kenny and Eric share a blood type and on the paper it shows that Eric’s blood types is AB- this means that Kenny would also have a AB- blood type. Normally people with an AB- should be able to receive an organ donation from anyone who has an RH negative blood type as his body would recognise all the antigens possibly present on human red blood cells with the exception of the rhesus antigen. Therefore it is likely that Eric is not the only possible donor in South Park.
South Park has some of the most hilarious medical scenes for sure. I hope you did more of these.

That is actually a urban legend that people go around drugging people and stealing their kidneys. Unless of course you are in a Chinese prison, it may occur in other countries regarding prisoner organs but it is well documented to be happening in China. There are black market kidneys but they are taken from "willing" donors who end up getting screwed out of some or all of the money and post-operative care that they were promised.

Its true that you only need one kidney, but having one removed to donate to someone isnt that simple and it can have complications and it is a difficult recovery.
6:22 for context, Kyle was suffering from renal failure due to Type 1 diabetes (this was mentioned in the beginning of the episode). That's why he needed the transplant.
All these scenes are taken out of context, so he probably takes these scenes serious.. example being the Cherokee hair tampon episode, they spent that episode mocking “natural medication”

I say most to the time, as your phone cover can be made of wood or if someone really wanted to they could make a cellphone completely out of wood and by that I mean the outerior of the phone could be made of wood or something else sturdy that comes from nature aka natural. Of course the electronics inside have to be man made and if it's a smartphone the touch screen isn't natural, but I don't know if there is such a material that it could be made out of some natural substance and I'm pretty convinced that would be possible with modern technology, but still even if the touch screen and the outerior is made out of natural materials, the electornics inside can't be, hence the joka "All natural cellphone".

@@keith4161 what did you think hospital's do with them? I'm a professional appendix repairer and supplier. As well as a very patient hitman in the odd occasion I perform the re-appendicizing surgery myself.

rarely go to the doc, but sometimes the flu hits so hard I need a notification of sickness. It's really astonishing how many flues it took to find the one doc that just sent me home to rest and drink some tea. all others without even looking at me packed painkillers, aspirin, expectorant and all kinds of stuff ^^

DIY surgery is never a good idea. Some guys tried to save someone’s life with DIY surgery (because they were on the run from the law and a hospital visit would get them arrested) and when intubating them they inserted the breathing tube in their esophagus instead of their trachea and their stomach exploded
