Some women go to fancy galas and fundraisers... I go to thrift store openings! I should have worn a fancy ballgown (thrifted, of course). Join me as I explore the new, HUGE Thrift World off of 108th and L Street here in Omaha. I also found an incredible estate sale on the way home. Thank you for joining me, and consider subscribing!

Thank you, Melissa! I try to get rid of some thing if I bring anything into our home. Otherwise this place would be a nuthouse!

Love your videos! And yes, very likely was ironstone. Original ironstone will be marked with either an England stamp or say ironstone on the bottom. It used to be know as poor man’s china because that was the only china that the poor could afford due to how plain it is! But as the popularity of it grew, there is a lot of other places that started making ironstone! And it has a certain feel to it. So the more you find and touch, you’ll get to know the feel and look of it and be able to spot it easily :)

Since you're an artist you could paint something onto the painting, animals or birds or monsters or flowers or fix the waterfall. You don't like it so it could be a fun quick DIY.

The white dishes are Pfaltzgraf from the 1970’s, I think. Heritage pattern. I used them from 1975 until sometime in the 80’s when microwave ovens became popular. The dishes got very hot.

I do the same thing with art! I don't like this tree or this person in the corner, or the duck in the pond, but sometimes they make great backdrops for stacked books or candlesticks , or a vase. The building is so pretty & the scenery. I would try it propped in a bookcase or on a shelf with items layered!

Hi Kristen… I feel the same way about Estate Sales. I don’t mind going to Auctions at an Auction House…but their home…😢😢😢 That is different.
Oh my husband’s whiskers….. UGH! Been dealing with cleaning them up for 45 years…Yup apparently you can’t train them to clean them up …LOL!!! I feel your pain! Daily I clean them up….🤦‍♀️
Speaking of Auctions, there was a “yellow stoneware” BOWL… your average size mixing bowl…SOLD FOR $225.00 ….😳 Please feel my pain of not having the luxury of Thrift Shop around me in New York ! My best finds are on Etsy or EBay…
You make me laugh… love your sense of humor and personality!
Thanks for the fun video !

Ohhh thanks for the tip on Thrift World moving! We will be down at the end of January and that's right in the neighborhood of the motel we usually stay at. It looked like they had a lot good clothing to choose from! I really need some clothes after loosing so much weight. I thought you looked darling in every top you tried on! There are a couple more thrift stores just a little south of where you were around 108 and Harrison St. Check them out if you haven't already.

@@KristenHoffman I'm sorry if I spoke in a way that you misunderstood. We aren't moving, just coming down for some appointments. I used to live there but moved to the farm in 2004. I do have a son that lives there. He owns Black Belt Movers over in Ralston.
