Great stuff mate. Can't believe I only just found your channel. Happy New Year
I appreciate it! Thank you! Happy New Year 🙌🏻
Its crazy. I think I messed with my settings too much, and now my entire BR is a deadzone.
Lmfao 😂🤣
Really good video.
I set up mine by reading the last line in the descriptions. It made sense to me, and it turns out your settings are the same.
I did not know about the axial deadzone, that's very interesting.
Thank you! 🙌🏻
Damn this is the best breakdown I’ve seen on these dead zones. Wish I had seen this earlier. Thanks Miller!
No problem!!! Thank you so much 🙌🏻
Extremely helpful video miller thank you.
No problem! Glad it was helpful my friend 😁
Max in threshold doesn’t change accel it brings the outside ring to the center so if you move it halfway it would register as a full tilt. It makes it impossible to make micro adjustments to aim but it can make your strafe godlike one the move stick. I wouldn’t reccomend it for look. Acceleration at 5 is what has an effect over slow turn which is what you were saying
love it! crazy my dead zones were already set how i'd like them to be.. also fixing it for worn or broke analog sticks is very helpful
Glad to hear you have them setup with what works best for you 🙌🏻
Good stuff Miller!
Thank you King 👑
One of the best Halo Infinite videos out there.
I appreciate this!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Bingo perfectly explained. I don't make videos, but I'm glad you explained this. I don't remember where I learnt this from, but it took me so long. The axial is so important. Center 0, and axial should be adjusted will always feel the best. Great video.
Thank you I appreciate it! 😁🙌🏻
Axial deadzone is uneceseary today with modern controllers I always recommend people to try to play with it set to 0
@@Septentrional33 This is very untrue lol. But whatever floats your boat my lad!
@@edgetransit3320 yeah well true but you should try it combined with low radial deadzone u 2 ma man
Hey Nick - this is John in the UK. Just want to wish you and your family an amazing and happy new year 2022. May all your hopes and plans come to fruition. Take care, John
Good to hear from you again John! Hope all is well with you 🙌🏻 So far it’s looks like all of my hopes and dreams are going to come true this upcoming year 😁
@@CrazyMiller This is great news Nick... looks like the move to the Carolinas has worked out very well for you. So glad the tough times are behind you now. So many good wishes to you and your family, John.
You have all the answers man! You should do a video on what profiles to use on elite series 2 for different games.
Thanks! I don’t play many other games unfortunately, but I would think the original video you commented on about the elite series 2 would be good. I just set it to axis independent with the sticks and play halo and rocket league like that 👍🏻
easiest video to follow. thank you!!
Your welcome!! Glad it was helpful Brittany! 🙌🏻
Helpful 👍
Thanks brother!!!
Won't lie I'm a bit blown away...that was literally the first video I've heard where someone has explained that nearly perfect. I need all the tips and explanations I can get been trying to get my settings, sensitivity and movement to the next level.oh by the way the a40s and mixamp is fire.literally night and day.where my confusion sets in is where I want to have my button layout I hear bumper jumper over and over but button puncher and a custom feels better.i know I'm supposed to have auto clamber off and hold crouch but hold to aim? I'm told no to the hold to aim.....kinda getting torn in different directions and not sure what To play with and I want to get comfortable with a layout and practice it.im trying to gain muscle memory ASAP....just asking what's your recommendation if all that made any sense lmao 🤣🤣
I appreciate the comment! So for audio change your audio to compressed to you can actually hear things nearby instead of sound bouncing off walls in weird ways. I play bumper jumper with maintain sprint and hold to crouch as the only options selected. Maintain sprint so I don’t have to keep hitting the sprint button when I change surface height and hold to crouch so I don’t have to toggle it. Not a fan of the other settings. Hold to aim doesn’t work for me because it’s pushing down on my aim stick. Would be too hard to apply pressure to my aim stick and aim at the same time. You can get away with it if it’s like left trigger or something though. Sensitivity and such youll mainly need to jump into academy and practice on bots to find something comfortable. That’s what I do.
My brain hurts now!!! 😵💫
Any questions DM me in discord I gotchu :)
Heya 2nd channel ive seen give a proper rundown on deadzone functions.

Do you set the axials to match or adjust them individually to each stick? Is it purely coincidence that yours were both 3?
That is what worked well for my last controller. This controller has super sloppy movement thumb sticks and I have to set the axial much higher than my look thumbstick
What sensitivity have you been playing at currently? Great vids man
Thank you Stuart! I have been playing on 4,4 sensitivity. My old controller I was on 5 Accel. And with this other controller I am on 3 Accel.
@@CrazyMiller so your move threshold and look threshold are both at 15?
@@stuartvasquez6404 currently yes. Not sure if I like it for movement yet to be honest. Going at 100% movement at all times may not be super beneficial
@@CrazyMiller I hear thst but it makes the strafe battles in your favor no? Also putting threshold look at 100 does it not allow you full control of your stick as far as precision? Instead of little movements to big swings it is always big sweeping looks? Big horizontal and vertical big sweeps? For halo I guess that isn’t the worst because that all you need because it’s mostly left stick aiming but did you do it because it gives you your true acceleration always which leads to having your true sens?
@@stuartvasquez6404 so I do it so my aim feels consistent no matter what. Coming from Halo 5 where aim felt like it was always stuck in mud I love having it fast and the same speed always lol
Ciao, siccome non parlo inglese , e vedo k il tuo.video.è molto dettagliato , quale sarebbe le impostazioni migliori ? Grazie
What about the triggers? Confused on is the more red good or bad?
Trigger deadzones are different from thumbstick deadzones and don’t look like these
So for your look thumbstick you like the max input threshold all the way to 15? I thought in the other video you liked it at 0. Did you switch preferences or am I just misunderstanding?
I had switched it to test it a bit and I actually liked it at 0 over 15. I currently have it set to 0 threshold.
Okay, sweet. I like it a 0 better as well but if you we're rocking 15 I was gonna start playing at 15 threshold (you're the professional so I trust your judgment more than my own). Thank you for your reply!
@@patrickrollins4350 No problem! I appreciate you asking and paying attention to the details between the two videos :D
Really suprising you use 15 max input threshold. Limits range of motion and variance in your sensitivity between 0 and 100% input. I get it makes the slow start up more to the response curve feel snappier.
With a lower sensitivity it makes it easy for me to control I feel like. Easier than 0 threshold in my opinion
@@CrazyMiller yeah I understand that. I play 4-6.5-3 sens but i just prefer consistent scaling on my sensitivity relative to input.
Be much easier for players to find their preferred sens and deadzones if we could tweak the response curve like on respawn games to accomadate for the insaneley slow sens in the first 30%ish of your sticks range of motion. As far as i can tell the sluggish response in the inner range of the stick is the biggest reason players are on high max inputs for look stick.
@@morky3673 yeah the game just calls it “slow turn” lol. I haven’t played respawn games but that does sound really nice
@@CrazyMiller pretty sure that "slow turn" is a term used to describe an analog fault similar to drift. Where your stick never reaches 100% max-input even when you have it fully maxed out.
This fault is the reason games implement a slider for max input threshold(outer deadzone) where, like you said in the video, when set to higher values, makes the game read your controllers input at its max threshold even when you havent reached the edge of the sticks range.
What im referring to is how slow the sensitivity scales when going for say 0% input to 30% input. The graph on the right of screen in your video shows the input% on the x axis and sensitivity on the Y axis. As you can see, the sensitivity is ridiculously slow to speed up until the last 70%. being able to have a more linear scale is what id like personally.
I always assumed the reason people played max input 15 was because it made you sensitivity scale faster as it essentially forces the X axis on that graph to be smaller. Making for less range of motion but faster sensitivity scaling relative to your input.
Sorry if this reads as gibberish. Just enjoy getting insights on how people like their input on controller to feel etc.
@@morky3673 With max input at 15 it makes it more efficient to reach what you are aiming at by decreasing stick travel distance. Essentially you can get to your target faster than otherwise, but I get your point, you sacrifice accuracy I am sure.
What does the look acceleration do ?
The time it takes to hit maximum speed. 1 is slowest and 5 is fastest. I play on 1 acceleration so my reticle is very consistent and predictable
Sensibilita e accellerazione ?
Why did you change your move max input from 15 to 0? In the first video when you explained it you made it seem like anything other than 15 would be silly
Because 15 threshold was putting me at max speed instantly when I moved and it was harder for me to micro adjust my movement
@@CrazyMiller you still at 0? see a lot of the pros anywhere between 8-12
@@Moorah yeah I’m at 0 threshold with 2 horizontal and 4 vertical 5 accel
@@Moorah 12 is the perfect one on move according to some pros
@@Septentrional33 I figured mine out thanks tho
Hello...I play "Battlefield 1" but the principle of the deazones is the same isn't it?...My problem is: When I set the axial deadzone to 0 the ADSing feels weird (difficult to explain)...the thing is: At 0 axial deadzone ADSing feels like the screen drags u into the crosshair and so the aiming is getting weird and unsteady...I dunno how some players (There are some out there) play with 0 axial deadzone... is there any explanation from ur side y it influences the ADSing like it drags u into the screen?
What controller are you using? The same concept should apply for axial deadzones
I am using the "xbox elite series 2" controller@@CrazyMiller
@@trippinpandaz7520 Have you changed the controller itself to Axis Independent? I made a video on that controller because it’s the only controller that defaults to radial out of the box
no...I only took some changes on the right stick@@CrazyMiller
@@trippinpandaz7520 check out this video and make these adjustments and then let me know how it feels czcams.com/video/3yG7d0t4lXw/video.htmlsi=WINy86Bx6vvpzEVc
Any clue what 5's deadzones were like?
Get as drunk as you can and fire a rocket at the moon and that’s probably it
I’m just messing in my other reply. Just not sure because Halo 5s aiming mechanics were pretty horrible in my opinion lol
@@CrazyMiller They were! I guess I'm more referring to H5 on pc but alas it's probably lost to the sands of time.
@@DejitaruGhost I did try to research it after you asked I couldn’t find anything tbh
Default deadzones in 5 were the same as Infinite. 5's 'inner' deadzone option controlled the radial deadzone and the axial deadzone couldn't be edited.
why is your move thumb stick on 0 for max input threshold but then on 15 for look stick? Max input threshold is still confusing me idk what to put mine as
Ok I’ll try to explain threshold via text. So think about your thumbstick. When your thumbstick is all the way to the edge of the controller that is 100%. So max 15 threshold means that even if you move the thumbstick a little bit it’ll treat the thumbstick like it’s pushed at 100% no matter what. So I like my aim to feel consistent no matter what so I put it at 15. Or else small movements will have “slow turn” I keep movement at 0 because I want to be able to make those smaller movements with my thumbstick and barely move. Does that make sense?
@@CrazyMiller Yes perfect. Thank you!!
But what about if you want to be able to strafe quickly? Does that leave you at a disadvantage having a smaller max input threshold for movement?
@@indy9673 No problem!! You can have it at max then if you'd like It would potentially benefit to be maxed. I am still messing with it for movement as well
I play with 0 axial but on the elite 2 I put my calculation to true diagonals.
0 drifting with 0 deadzones?
@@CrazyMiller yeah its luck of the draw with how durable your analog modules are going to be. If you dont us the analog clicks a lot you can go a year with no drift on 0.
@@morky3673 Sometimes I get sticks that drift brand new lmfao
@@CrazyMiller yeah like said can be luck of the draw with the analog module. But if you get lucky and try to keep spammy inputs of r3 l3 you can keep even elite controllers from drifting for over a year.
@@CrazyMiller the experience of buying a new controller and it drifting on the same old deadzone is infuriating 🤣
