Agree completely. Micah Richards has a very basic knowledge of football taken purely from a player’s perspective and not one of a coach or manager. His biggest attribute is an uproarious laugh which is just embarrassing. Gary Neville is, without doubt the best pundit on TV.

'At this moment in time', I don't think Gary Neville is a particularly good pundit. He talks a lot but that doesn't make him a good analyst of the game. Carragher is the much better football analyst of the two. It always feels to me like Neville would rather talk about everything else than the actual football. I think he'd prefer to be a politician or something.
Catragher is by far the better pundit from the two. Just go have a look at both of their season predictions.

Having said that I've heard strikers say that other strikers are best at assists.
But what kind of assists? Because you need your best crossers taking corners, not necessarily people who give out the best assists, or the best passers on the team. Sometimes it's also strategic. Messi is often seen taking corners because, realistically, what good is a 5'7" winger going to do in the box unless they have a supernatural ability to sniff out a loose ball on corner kicks?
