Jack Wilshere Fake Interview Prank!

- You’ve seen it a thousand times before. A new signing sits down for his welcome-to-the-club interview, where he’ll proceed to say how happy he is to be here and that the move is a dream come true.
It’s good stuff, but we wanted to do something different to greet West Ham new boy Jack Wilshere.
So, this is what we went for:
Jack thinks he’s sitting down for a run-of-the-mill interview with Hammers sponsors Betway to discuss his summer move to the London Stadium. What he doesn’t realise is that the whole thing is one elaborate prank.
The person asking the questions is Lee, an actor who we’ve hired to play the role of the clueless interviewer. Even better, Hammers club captain Mark Noble and team-mate Aaron Cresswell, are in on the joke, too.
Watching on in secret from the room next door and communicating with Lee through an earpiece, Noble and Cresswell - providing they can hold it together - ask all sorts of weird and wonderful questions.
How does Jack respond? You’ll have to watch the video to find out!
Highlights from the video include:
- He is thinking: “What is going on?!”
- “New signings often have to do initiations….” But does Jack suspect anything’s up?
- “You play in a similar position to the club captain…” Lee asks Jack a very tough question.
- “He’s bigger up top.” Which team-mate is Jack talking about?
- “He’s fuming, you know!” This is torture!” Noble and Cresswell struggle to watch.
- “My cousin will never know.” Just what is Lee asking Jack to do?

That was my favourite part too because it came unexpected and even Noble and Cresswell didn't get the heads up. Also when he said "I'm interviewing John Wilshere." You can tell the bloke's a professional actor from that exact moment because he did that naive face like "I'm so clueless" but looked up to WIlshere to check his reaction. I'm a Man United fan, so not looking for a shirt but seriously, this is one of the best pranks I've seen.

I'm an Arsenal fan and I'm gutted to see Jack leave.... but it's fair enough tbh. If the new manager wasn't gonna play him it wouldn't be fair to have him in the background. West Ham are still a premier league club.

My favorite part was actually Noble's and Cresswell's reaction. They were absolutely dying. Loved it. And the bit about him competing with Noble and their body types. Classic.
Best bit had to be when he was asked "How determined are you to get back in the Ireland squad?"
Question was funny in itself but -John- Jack Wilshere's "Well, I've never been in an Ireland squad so that would be a first." response was class. Could tell he was a bit annoyed about it but to put on a smile and give a polite response while making a joke out of it shows the sort of character he is. Good lad. 🤣
I thought the best part was when he called him John 😂 you could just see in his face how annoyed he was yet still relived he didn't say Wiltshire haha
