    This is part of an ongoing series showing my effort to earn a side income doing tractor work.

    At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.
    These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.
    We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.
    You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

    I don't load up my tlb for less than 200 the first hour and 80 per after that. Certain jobs have base prices but are all always 300 or more

    Good job helping out two individuals. One for the horse and the other with the carry all. I'm going to buy a tractor in the next short while and want a carry all for one of my first implements. Great videos.

    That was a good video on quoting. I guess that there is a lot of factors in a quote that is beneficial to the customer and yourself. The CarryAll giveaway is a good idea. I just finished mine and I think it will be beneficial around here. Keep up the good work Sir.

    I need to get some hoses made for my backhoe so I can be using it some. Great idea on the giveaway. Ive done a few pet graves and things over the years, that’s something hard for me to charge for. I’m sure they were excited to trade with you. Great Video!

    This started out ok then when you said what the job was for it was a little sad. I know a lot of people that have horses and treat them as family. And then when you explained what you charged and then the barter for the carry all and knowing what implements cost I feel like you came out ahead cause you sell it and make a profit, but you said you're going to fix it up and give it away and that's awesome. Good video as usual Brock.

    I had to dig a hole for our old horse, just dug it with the bucker not as ideal as a backhoe.

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  Před 3 lety

      Yeah, sometimes you have to just use what you have.
      For certain types of digging I have found that running the tiller and then scooping it out with the bucket is quicker

  • @greenwoodsbushhogging6704

    The catch with a job like that, is you only charged a carry all to help someone put a horse down... BUT most everyone with horses has friends with considerable sized properties as well. So in return you get a very happy client, with friends who may need your help... which is more money in your pocket from them + another happy client with.... you guessed it more friends with more property. I'm a "small business" that offers tractor work around Clover SC, and I have more than tripled my full time clientele simply by being cheap and offering top quality to each and every client.

    I'm in central Indiana and charge $75 hour for me and my 3032.
    I sometimes bid by the job that can average to a little more as well.
    Ps. I don't have a CarryAll yet, just saying!

    As far as you doing work with your tractor. A minimum of a 4 hour charge would be proper!

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  Před 3 lety +1

      Right, because you’re always going to have a least an hour of loading in travel time
      I’ve been saying I would charge $40 an hour everyone tells me that’s too cheap.
      We’re in a lot cheaper market so I just can’t see charging more than that for most things
