- Let's talk about ARTPOP, why Act 2 is not coming & Gaga's feelings and experiences from that time, while I do a cute few scrapbook style collages.
For more info on Gaga's manager, just google 'Troy Carter Lady Gaga' and tons of articles from 2013 ish will come up. I'd also recommend looking up Gaga's time with Marina Abramovic as she has said the Abramovic method helped her with sobriety.
Obviously my read on the situation is just my opinion based off of my memories of the era at the time (nearly 10 years ago!) & what we've learned since. Apologies if my memories are a little shaky!

If Gaga ever wants to release ACT 2 then I hope its because she wants it and not because her fanbase is forcing it on her, at the end of the day her life was like a living hell back then, that era was traumatic and I don't think it would be a good idea for her to go back and experience that now when she seems like she's in a much better place.
Worry less about her fans "forcing" things on her and worry more about the economic powers above her head that force things on her. Her fans loving her work and wanting more is not harming Gaga in any way shape or form, it gives her her power.
Nobody not forces her making music videos, write new songs for artpop 2.0, perform with these songs, immerse herself in this era. She can just to release a collection of unreleased songs, for example, the song Tea, which was not included in the final track list. It would be a gift in honor of the 10th anniversary.

people need to understand these mainstream pop stars have signed away much of their artistic freedoms. they are contractually obligated to obey their label. they can not just do whatever they want to do. also, i don't think gaga even cares about making pop music anymore. she seems to focused on acting exclusively.
I agree with the fact that she will never release it and to be honest, I don’t want it if she doesn’t feel comfortable putting it out. However, for the tenth anniversary I think it would be cool if she put Brooklyn Nights and maybe another unreleased fan favourite on streaming as bonus tracks.
I completely agree about the themes of duality and ‘2 sides of the same coin’ throughout ARTPOP, with the way all the tracks are placed too. Like you said with Mary Jane Holland and Dope being the highs and lows of addiction, but also Donatella and Fashion! being the positives and negatives of the fashion industry, G.U.Y. and Sxxx Dreams with the control vs the recklessness of lust, ARTPOP and Swine showing the calm beauty and the rage of channeling your life through art
This is a really interesting take - I guess also Gypsy and Applause fit here too with her love of performing but how lonely touring can be!
I'm just really glad we were able to make it go viral +stream and buy the hell out of ARTPOP, to show her that it wasn't her music that failed back in 2013. We truly love that album and many of us just wanted Gaga to see how appreciates it is.
ARTPOP ACT 2 is already released in 2014, but it was not an official release, she just leaked songs and snippets, and i make ACT 2 tracklists/variations since then🔵💖
Even though it's not officially the case, I personally kinda see 'Chromatica' as an ARTPOP ACT II. Maybe not really an ACT II, but as a sister-album. I can definitely see some connections between the two albums.
-Chromatica in general is basically the planet Venus she wanted to take us to.
-Alice is basically the Aphrodite she wanted to represent
-Rain On Me, Fun Tonight, 911, Replay, Sine From Above and 1000 Doves are about any kind of pain/trauma/mental issue she's going through, just like MANiCURE, Do What U Want, Swine or Dope.
-Enigma and Babylon are the catwalk-songs just like Donatella and Fashion!
-Free Woman reminds me of the independence she represented in the G.U.Y. (an ARTPOP-Film) -music video, where she took back what's rightfully hers like a boss.
At first, when 'Chromatica' was revealed as the name for the album in the Stupid Love mv, DJWS was talking about ARTPOP's "little sister" around that time. Although it may left some fans disappointed that it wasn't that much of the case as they've expected, I think he was right about it.
Even 'Joanne' felt like a folk-/country-pop sister-album of 'ARTPOP', as well as the 'Cheek To Cheek' and the tributes-era from 2014 - 2016 felt like an extension of 'ARTPOP'; literally the art-side of ART and POP, at least to me.

Chromatica wasn’t anything like artpop, it’s a pop disco album, and artpop is pop/edm
Chromatica was very weak and sounded very generic for Gaga.
I kinda see your point because they're both pop and dance music, but ARTPOP is more versatile when it comes to vocal interpretation and genres. I love both albums but comparing them is silly from my point of view because you can also compare The fame monster with Born this way, 'cause both records have a dark aesthetic, very similar sounds, etc but in general they are completely different, the thing with each Gaga album is that is different, and that's the reason why some people prefer The fame, or Joanne..., etc, and it's okay

I LOVED Artpop. The only Lady Gaga concert I have been to was the ArtRave. Still one of the best concerts I've ever been to in my life! Plus my partner and I have a deep connection to the Artpop album as it was the first album we bought together ❤
In her post-SXSW interview gaga herself states she has a whole set of music (that couldve made a part two) that is just for her and her friends. She did not want to put it out and up for scrutiny from the charts the critics and the public. It was sacred to her and she didnt want to taint the music by exposing it to the public. So yes, there is finished unreleased music. But she never “promised” a part two, it was just possible. And after ARTPOPs release and response was a whole mess it kind of shut down any of that happening. DJWS clarified that the music is still out there and would just need to be recovered but its very clear by his recanting of his whole artpop act 2 mission that gaga has zero interest in retreading the past. And i theorize its for two reasons (1) the aforementioned music being sacred to her and not wanting to taint it and (2) it was a very tumultous period of time for her for reasons we know and also dont know and i dont believe she has any interest in reliving that time by having to revisit remaster and maybe even perform any of that music. She just does not want to. And fans need to stfu about it at this point 😂
Tbh i feel gaga resents the public a bit. She misses being a regular person at times and resents the way she cant exist and create without scrutiny. Not victimizing this wealthy woman so calm down, but just from a human perspective i think thats the unspoken vibe. And i think it plays a big role in why shes lost the hardcore fire she had in the beginning of her career because she no longer has it. Thats not to say she dislikes her fans or dislikes her career and her success or doesnt put her heart in her albums and performances. I think shes just hasnt been in that pop star mindset and doesnt care to be. I think it died when artpop did to be frank.
I really enjoyed hearing your detailed and thoughtful take on ARTPOP and ACT II. I agree with you! I also love ARTPOP so much and I think we (the fans) are lucky to have this beautiful, mysterious universe that Gaga created with this album. We get to revisit it, analyze it, and celebrate it whenever we want. It feels so special and now, I think it is meant to live on its own as an individual beautiful creation. At this point, I think adding another act would take away from or change the special legacy of ARTPOP. It’s already perfect and it doesn’t need to change or be added to!
Gaga was very enthusiastic and positive in those recent tweet adressing act 2, Gaga said in 2014 that there was actually an almost finished act 2 that she listens on her own and her friends and are not any of the songs leaked at the time, so i have hope, also didn't she just shared brooklyn nights through the ARTPOP app? it was a gift to the fans it wasn't really leaked she just shared it for free without the necessity of purchase or product treatment, she even sang a part in the artrave
In the most optimistic timeline, the absolute most it would be would probably be an EP of, like, three or four songs. And it'd be songs that we already fully know and actually have a finalised mix like Brooklyn Nights, PARTYNAUSEOUS, maybe Princess Die, and then just chuck the Christina version of Do What U Want on the end. But reallistically I don't imagine even that's on the cards. A fully fledged Act 2 certainly isn't.
First of all LOVE the collages!! 🥰🥰🥰 And I have to say I remember when Chromatica came out and I said to myself it sounded like ARTPOP after she grew up and went to college. It feels like it’s what ARTPOP couldn’t be, and it honestly makes ARTPOP look like the “experimental” Act II and Chromatica is the “radio friendly” Act I. 😂😂😂 I think you got it spot on. I’m really hoping for a special edition release of the album, I don’t see Act II ever actually happening. She is the artist, we are the public, and she will tell us what we get. It doesn’t work the other way around.

Gaga's music has helped me a lot, the metaphors and the way I feel very related to her lyrics make me feel not alone, not the only one struggling to fit in or to satisfy people.
Gaga has been part of my childhood ever since I was around 6 till my current age which is 15, I understand if Gaga does not want to release ARTPOP Act II because she had a really hard time during that era and the least I would like is to make her look back on all the bad stuff.
Gaga has been more like a friend who has not only healed my traumas or hard times but has made me someone a little bit stronger and confident what on what I do, with her songs.

I love ARTPOP w all my heart, it’s my favorite album by Gaga in terms of sound, it’s so magical, spiritual & a shoot of energy & inspiration for me I really love him so much, but I agree w you that the leak songs of ACT II don’t make sense w Gaga now image & growing, sound etc.
I truly love the leaks ACT II supposed songs especially Stache & Brooklyn Nights, I listen to it all the days on my Apple Music library💙 & it’s all what I need💓

Make your own Act 2 - there's enough songs from that era to piece together a short album out of the available demos/live-versions and songs she didn't put on the album.
At this point I feel like this anniversary has really cemented the first major era of gagas career from the fame to now, I feel she might reinvent her image and sound again, but who knows
Figure it would be fine for the audience looking for an Act 2 or something resembling it to continue entertaining their theories for a bit longer and once the anniversary comes around and nothing big occurs they can start slowing down. A free chocolate replica of the Artpop statue to whoever ends up being proven wrong as a consolation prize.
the first song i listen in my life was Applause in 2013 when i was 6, i become a little monster in 2020 and i remember follow the release of Chromatica, i love that album even back in the day when everyone hate it, i remember say that ARTPOP was my fav album and people hate me for that.
I always wanted ARTPOP Act. Ii but youa re right and i never think about this, she say this was a traumatic era and she doesn't want to live all of that again, so now I'm trying to grow up and learn that people have feelings and even if i want something i have to feel empathy for the pain of others.

The ONE thing that I think could happen (under extreme optimism) is a re-release of ARTPOP with Brooklyn Nights replacing DWUW and maybe I Wanna Be with You as a bonus track.
I know what you mean and I agree! I just think the thing for me is that I LOVE the sound of ARTPOP so I generally crave act II because I would love more of Gaga's voice with that EDM crazy sound of that era... and honestly I'm kind of OK that it is never coming out... If only I could have TEA... Like I'm genuinely obsessed with that song... and it doesn't help that I ADORED the intro of the song that DJWS played in the Joanne Tour!! and I loved the lyrics that she tweeted back in the day... If I could just hear what the real song was.. even in an unfinished demo state I don't care... it would make me so happy I could die... I just want a sip of that TEA T_T haha

I think we will always long for the OG ARTPOP plans because they sounded SO exciting - personally I would've loved to see all the plans for the app come to life

There are many loose ends of Artpop, there are also rumors. After what DJWS said, I got discouraged, but then it was very strange, because Artpop entered the itones list, I don't know in what position but it entered, it gave me hope. There are things about Artpop act2 that we don't know. In fact, I feel a lot of Artpop references in the past Chromatica concert, especially the dark crystal ball.
i do agree that this is lady gaga’s best album for a lot of reasons, but honestly the era itself was what ruined the experience. a lot of fans say this, but the treatment of the album and of gaga herself during the era was horrible. i remember being so excited for everything

Gaga is being mishandled by her "inner" team, and looking out for themselves, just like Troy before, bit now they do so by appealing to her trauma and so on. Chromatica is a horrible album that cannot stand a candle next to ARTPOP or Joanne.
Haus Laboratories is an awful side gig that Bobby put Gaga up to to distract her from her actual feelings, and BloodPop is doing the same but with her music.
