Language and pixel models are more of a threat to the entertainment industry (including tech like Netflix, Spotify, and adult sites) than it is to anyone else. It's going to let people create basically any entertainment for free. This conversation reminds me of the episode with Ben Goertzel a few years back. Might be a good idea to invite him again to talk about empathetic benevolent AI.
Ai dev here, and also a military contractor as well. (Except not a grifter con artist like these guys) These guys have NO CLUE how Ai works. LLMs have no internal state, so no, GPT4 is not conscious, because there is no where to store said consciousness… there is no internal state. All that exists is the context window. There is no where to store a “self” which is having some conscious experience. Also btw 2020 is LATE to GPT; GPT3 is not some insider early starting point (for people who claim to know Sam Altman directly), Google publishing “Attention is all you need” was the starting point.
A useful definition of AGI which is valid regardless of context: Self-aware w memory of events it has lived through and has goals it desires to achieve & is able to take actions on its own behalf.

"output the next Justin Bieber album" "output another Harry Potter film" This is what they're soo afraid of - in reality, there's no way pixel prediction algorithms can direct resources to do what they're claiming. Corporations should be terrified of AI, individuals should be empowered. It's going to bring wealth and knowledge to the masses, this terrifies crony capitalist types who believe they get to be rich for no reason other than birth happenstance.
Bring on: 1. Donald Trump 2. Trey Parker & Matt Stone 3. A former deputy who worked at the ADX Supermax Prison in Florence, Colorado. Imagine the stories that guy would have, if you’re familiar at all with the prolific inmates who have been there. However, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if people who worked in Federal prisons sign some sort of lifelong NDA.
Can't believe they didn't know the definition/threshold for AGI. It's simply when a system somehow aware of its own existence. The threshold is not about how much functionally it can do.

They probably still share bunk beds.

Well said! I stopped watching after 10 minutes, it was that bad. 🤦♂
This conversation reminds me of the episode with Ben Goertzel a few years back. Might be a good idea to invite him again to talk about empathetic benevolent AI.
HEY JOE ARE YOU EVER TRY COFFEE WITH DARK CHOCOLATE... ????
These guys love straight lines.

Ai dev here, and also a military contractor as well. (Except not a grifter con artist like these guys)
These guys have NO CLUE how Ai works. LLMs have no internal state, so no, GPT4 is not conscious, because there is no where to store said consciousness… there is no internal state. All that exists is the context window. There is no where to store a “self” which is having some conscious experience.
Also btw 2020 is LATE to GPT; GPT3 is not some insider early starting point (for people who claim to know Sam Altman directly), Google publishing “Attention is all you need” was the starting point.
thank you.
A useful definition of AGI which is valid regardless of context:
Self-aware w memory of events it has lived through and has goals it desires to achieve & is able to take actions on its own behalf.

I’m always talking about how dumb government is. But it can’t be this dumb.
Oh yes it can.
One of the greatest scams ever sold was the government convincing its citizens that it’s “dumb”. That’s what they want you to think
If you think the min. wage employees in government have any power and not the corporations that lobby it then you might be the dumb one
Not this dumb. Just super corrupt.
Work for the government, then get back to us.
It's a spectrum, but the stupidity outlier of that spectrum is an infinite abyss. When you are fed money no matter what you do, there's no incentive for efficiency or competency.

We need Terrence V Dibble...I'm not sure what the debate will be about but it WILL be entertainment at it's finest. MAKE IT HAPPEN JOE
I would love to see Terrence go off for an hour straight, then cut to Flint, and have him just come up with whatever rebuttals he can from the past hour lol
Dibble couldn’t debate Terrence because everything Dibble has to say is based on 1x1=1 and he sucks the dicks of the people trying to tell us the pyramids were tombs
Totally put off by Terrence now. I liked him at first until he just started arguing in bad faith and dismissing any criticism, now he seems like a jerk who fell victim to sunken cost.

Boycott the advertisers on CZcams. This is how we respond to being censored .
You don’t need to boycott the in video adds that the channel creators get the money from, just boycott the advertisers that pay youtube.

"output another Harry Potter film"
This is what they're soo afraid of - in reality, there's no way pixel prediction algorithms can direct resources to do what they're claiming. Corporations should be terrified of AI, individuals should be empowered. It's going to bring wealth and knowledge to the masses, this terrifies crony capitalist types who believe they get to be rich for no reason other than birth happenstance.

Bring on:
1. Donald Trump
2. Trey Parker & Matt Stone
