It's pretty clear Joe reads a lot, and obviously one mostly reads about topics that interest them. For example, Joe's main interests clearly aren't history, art or other humanist studies, so you can't expect the same amount of compelling conversation about - for example dance - than science etc. My interests include history, philosophy and other subjects that require "thinking and wondering" but I couldn't care less about sports, so I would either refuse a couple-hour conversation about football or sit there and try to think about something seemingly clever to say and look like an oblivious idot.

But the more I see of Joe the smarter I think he is to the point now where I think he's a clever cat. Those Hancock convos you see him come out, he has a proper grasp of mentality perception understanding history humanity human nature future science the guys what we call in the UK clued up. And yes he also plays his IQ to the guest, in itself - smart. So long story short - thought he was a prick- realised maybe I was. Perception.

Absolutely. thats his gift, explaining concepts that the layman can understand. i went to see Michio Kaku a few years ago having read a couple of his books and felt the talk was directed at schoolchildren, he explained everything like he was talking to a bunch of school kids when in fact it was a hall full of adults who had most likely read his books, the best part of the night was when the audience got to ask questions. thats when the real in depth stuff got talked about. there were heaps of super smart people in the audience that were well educated and could grasp the concepts and got to the really indepth stuff and thats when it got interesting, if there had been no q&a from the audience it would have been boring as shit. Brian Cox has the gift of explaining stuff that we normals can understand without being treated like dumbos. He's by far the best at conveying these concepts in a way most people can grasp. And best of all you can tell he's completely absorbed ih his field, he clearly loves sharing his knowledge in a way normal folk can understand. seems to be devoid of ego, just full of wonder, I think he is fantastic,

This is just my favorite quote:
    What more do you want?
The ingredients in our body were assembled in the hearts of long dead stars over billions of years.
And have assembled themselves spontaneously into temporary structures that can think and feel and explore.
And those structures will decay away at some point.
And in a very far future there will be no structures left.
So there we are, we exist in this very little window were we can observe this magnificent universe.
    Why do you want anymore?

When people say the people that Joe brings onto his shows are so intelligent, they forget the fact that only two highly intellectual beings can have such interestingly mind-boggling conversations.
