I love seeing repeat makes! That's my ideal sewing process: sew up a new-to-me pattern, realize I love it, and sew it up again and again.

Hi Laura, so lovely to see you back. So very sorry to hear of losses. But a big congratulations on reaching 24 weeks with baby Specky. Looking forward to future videos. Take care.x

    Hi Laura!
It’s so lovely to have you back on CZcams.
I love seeing EVERYTHING you make: new patterns, repeat patterns, hacks, all of it!
    😀💜

The whales! Also I think repeat makes are great - then I can see you in them in different fabrics, and you can say what you did differently etc!!

  • @alexandrawellington8028

Fantastic find of a 1m top!!! Love how you hacked into the perfect dress. I too love the 50's dress look too...such a very clever, comfortable, and easy to sew hack. I am so totally going to have to copy you xxxx

Good to hear about your Montrose experience. I also haven't picked up the Upton because it was sleeveless, but I am slightly tempted now ... Funnily enough, I love the Fuller cardigan! Now I've got my sizing right, it's one of my favourites, and I've made a sweater version now too!

I think if is persisted with the Fuller I would have liked it but after two toiles, I got a bit annoyed 😂

Smashing idea to make a coat lining that matches a dress, it looks wonderful and so original x

It's fun to know I'm matching all over! It's like when I wear a garment and I've used the scraps for underwear and I wear them together!

I made the Upton and it was also huge!

I'm a beginner and working on fitting the Montrose now! Can't wait to get the top right and then move on to dress hacks too!! I'm also tempted to get the new expanded Upton too

Happy 2021 to you too. Do show the repeats. I think it’s a good thing to reuse our patterns, esp. if you need to do fit adjustments. I am about to have a go at working with faux fur. Also in the process of planning a mini-capsule/module with a lovely set of coordinated fabrics from Stoff & Stil. Nice to have you back. Looking forward to the catchup and resewlutions. 💕

Cardigans, hurray! I’m really struggling to find a pattern that I like, but I really need some as it’s cold in school!! Happy New Year.

Happy New Year Laura! Here’s to 2021 being more ‘sewcial’! 🤣🤣 FYI - for fabric that looks like knitwear fabric for cardigans - take a look at TFG fabrics Faux Angora. It’s fab and they have a huge range of colours. Sews up just like jersey and washes up a dream! I love the top made in the Fabric Godmother sea creature fabric - it’s gorgeous! The dress version really suits you and I can see many more of them in your future ......! 😂

I've got some faux angora from TFG from your recommendation! It's lovely, slightly thicker than some of my cardi fabrics but I love it. It's in a dark greeny teal colour and I'm going to be sewing it up pretty soon :)

I just made two "Hepburn" turtlenecks from "Itch to Stitch", and right now I am making a little pullover top with hood and footed pants to match for our great granddaughter that was just born yesterday!! :+)

I looked at this pattern only recently so your timing was great! Which style of back do you prefer, the yoke or button?

Hey Vicki, yes I have filmed the elements for the tutorials but they take quite a lot of editing :) am hoping to get the first one up next week

I’m new to this channel is something wrong with the lighting

    • @TheSpeckySeamstress
      @TheSpeckySeamstress  Před 3 lety

Hey, welcome! Unfortunately it's difficult for me to get consistent lighting in December/Jan in my house in the UK and lighting tends to change when I move around. I do the best I can do film in the light. I hope it's not too distracting that the light changes when I move around. I'm hoping to upgrade my filming setup later in the year
