    1. This is a new kind of ASMR I didn’t know I needed. 2. As a polymer clay artist who has tried pottery a couple times sir my hat is off to you and your skill. Keep up the amazing work.

      I would recommend going to a few pottery classes first to try! I did pottery for about 2 months this year's past summer and it was so fun. It takes a lot to get used to and it gets very messy, so before you invest, I recommend trying it out somewhere!
      It takes so much patience and practice, along with countless hours. Good luck!!

    What is the glaze? It is so perfect. Is it something you have made or is it purchased?

    Hi Florian! I was wondering, why do you use a different oven for the glazed pots? Thanks!

    • @ekosh6266
      @ekosh6266 Před 2 lety +4

      The small electric one is for the first firing, it makes the clay absorbent so he can apply the glaze better.
      I think it's also a lower temperature so in theory the pots would be functional but brittle, but it also makes the process quicker and cheaper.
      In the second firing it reaches a higher temperature to melt the glaze and also make the clay hard. In this case he uses a gas kiln so he can create a reduction atmosphere which brings up different colors than you would get if firing in an electric kiln with the exact same glaze.

      @@ekosh6266 Thanks for the explanation! I didn't know the firing is different when you use a gas or electric kiln, but now I do :)

    • @ekosh6266
      @ekosh6266 Před 2 lety

      @@sannekelder3868 you can do both firings in electric kilns, he uses gas just because of the special atmosphere (and maybe it's also cheaper)

      Initial firing changes the colour a little and then when Florian adds on the glaze, when it's heated it changes colour
