- Here's the ASMR edition of this weekend's video. If you'd prefer to watch the narrated version that discusses what's happening at each stage, you can find it here: • How I Recycle my Stone...
Timecodes:
0:00 - Introduction
0:11 - Gathering reclaim
2:24 - Removing excess water
3:21 - Placing reclaim on plaster batts
6:17 - Preparing clay for wedging
7:07 - Wedging
12:22 - Clean up
13:50 - Storing away prepared clay
Plaster Batt Recipe:
8320g Potter's Plaster
2080g Herculite Plaster
(This is per plaster batt, you could make a thinner layer and spread it across two batts but I prefer thicker ones. Additionally, you can place chicken wire into the mould and pour the plaster over to strengthen them. I've always used thicker batts as they tend not to get over saturated too quickly).
Let me know if you've got any questions in the comments below and as always, thanks for watching.

I realise I've been reading the channel name a 'Floridian Gatsby' when it indeed is not that-
bro same
Procesing the recycle/scrap bucket is incredibly satisfying - as much as handling a really well wedged hunk of clay :)
The single most important part of recylcing to me is to "honor and show respect" to the material (maybe sounds strange). Those who love what they do (whether they work with clay, wood, metals or whatever) understand what I mean.
Great video again Florian! Your wedging skills are awesome and all of your videos are soo well done! Cheers from Finland!
You have absolutely amazing patience even when recycling your clay!!! And the atmosphere of the video was so nice : )))) amazing puppy too 🐶🐶
Asmr fans are happy! Thank u for great video!!
Oddly satisfying moment of the day: a hella long time of wedging clay
I personally use a Pug Mill and have not done this before, and I feel like the pompous prick of pottery for asking this, but how laborious is this actually, does it take practice or is it the kind of thing that is pretty straightforward?
this sponge > everything in the world
Love your dog
Hi, thanks a ton Your videos have helped me improve on my wheeling skills a lot.
can you please do a video on starting with pottery like essentials one needs from pottery wheels to glazes....?thanks ❤❤❤
Nice Dachshund! (I have 3 myself) love your work and your skill.
I like this clay
Do you have a video on making a plaster drying slab?
You need a Pugmachine❤
What table do you use for wedging? It’s so sturdy! Do you have a canvas top to it or is it wood?
I built it myself! The top is 18 mom birch ply that I’ve left unsealed to be quite absorbent. No canvas, just wood. Although I’m thinking of pinning canvas on one corner for wedging porcelain on.
@@floriangadsby I appreciate the quick reply! I didn't realize I could have just a wood topper and still wedge most clays effectively. Back in hardware mode in my studio this weekend getting my new table built. Thank you!
This is a lot like making mud pies! lol
5:39 Bro released kung fu technique😎

Hi, it's really great, but I think it would be easier if you used a better tamnil.
Ñ
I should call her 😔
First
boring life you have, huh?
You work very attractive, but if your tamnilles get better, it'll be great.
