« A travers cette vidéo nous pénétrons dans une demeure endormie du début du 20e siècle, celle de la famille Nissim de Camondo. Un lieu enchanteur, dont l'édifice s'inspire du Petit Trianon de Versailles et qui est comme figé dans un sommeil d’une autre époque. Un véritable témoignage d'un art de vivre à la française que j’ai tenté d'éveiller au son de la mélodie de Massenet „Pourquoi me réveiller ?“. Dans ce chant éploré, Werther tente lui aussi de figer le temps qui passe et pleure son amour perdu et sa jeunesse. »

No-one as beautiful as Camille Thomas, and you should not look at the artist physical appearance unless their virtuosity and talent as a musician, even slightly, surpasses it. She is the best cellist of the younger generation.

This adaptation is inspired and performed so beautifully. The cello is so expressive when Camille Thomas plays it that we do not even need the words to the song. The melancholy, elegiac tone is so appropriate for a piece called 'why wake me up?'. Wonderful performance and wonderful adaptation. Thank you.

Werther is an Opera Worth Seeing. Especially if you can find a filmed version with Jonas Kaufman! This particular piece is absolutely beautiful ❤️!
