I gotta say, that was some high level game play. Excellent strafing, roll attack punishes, standing ripostes, backstep evade punishes. I used the PickAxe a ton, especially for high ng+ cycle, on several characters, usually as a boss killer “Special”. What you said was correct, but I’d like to add a few points of interest. For example, the durability is listed at 60. That is the most common number. For some reason, the PickAxe loses durability very quickly. It’s advisable to make a build that assists it, including Repair Sorcery, and Bracing Knuckle Ring +2. You correctly point out that at 8 units, it outputs damage of weapons three times its weight. Additionally, it also uses very little stamina. If you manage to get all sweetspot hits, I’d wager that the PickAxe is capable of the most damage per bar of stamina, in the game. It’s also an 8 unit weapon with Hyperarmor!! Most people think it’s a joke weapon. O think the fact the sweetspot is narrow, and requires practice to get good with, might be a factor. But trust me, it’s worth it. Excellent weapon, not just memeing.
Very informative and helpful, i can't wait to take this knowledge to my next run of ds2, most runs I played where mostly blind. Also lots of respect for keeping on with this series, I saw your first two episodes a while back and loved them but I assumed it wouldn't continue thank you lots for sharing the information for the people who need/want it. 😁✌✌
Very good analysis. Great hammers are my favorite weapon class, as you said you can smash almost every enemy on the ground and "pause the fight", also really satisfying do an 3 swing r1 combo with the enemy stunned and end smashing him to the ground with r2 lol
Another thing to note when using these greathammers is the pancake move can lose a lot of durability on a hit. In testing I was losing up to 5 durability a hit which was quite devastating.
Anyway, best great hammer in Dark Souls II is large club. Light, best moveset and +8 can be obtained in any amount using bonfire ascetics without killing boss every time. Best non upgraded greathammer is Demon's Greathammer. Can be used by twink build to clean any DLC using twohanded R2.
First of all great insight as usual so thanks for the video. Now, I'm not as good as you so whoever reads this should take it with a grain of salt but I'd say Gyrm greathammer is better than you give credit for for pvp, or at least I feel more comfortable using it over generic greathammers like greatclub or demon's great hammer. His 2h light attack has a great tracking so you can roll forward and hit your back immediately with toggling lock on like maces and because of its high poise damage you can hit a second light attack which is a pancake, 2h strong attack for other great hammers. That way you secure 2 attacks instead of one while being defensive. Not to mention people dont expect you to hit like mace or club. Really good against thrust users, especially lances imho since they commit a lot and you tend to roll forward or side ways vs them. 2h strong attack is also unique that you can toss people off although it is kind of risky to use due to it can be parried and if you miss you will waste all of your stamina. But it is useful vs shield users or people that use shortswords or greatswords with short reach since you can move back, backstep etc. then land an attack. Again, people usually don't know to moveset. It's run attack is also pancake so that's a bonus too both for pvp but more so for pve.
Hey I was wondering, how are you not fat rolling with the entire Havel monster set at 15:49, I have a strength build and can run just fine with the entire Havel set on I have the proper equip load for it, armor and shield an all, but I do fat roll and it does kind of bug me, how could I normally roll like you're doing there Also just wanted to say that you make some great content, keep it up
Hi, i cheated and just added the drakekeeper warpick(fuck farming in souls games seriously)and its got to be one of my favorite weapons. Wondering your thoughts on it? This halberd greathammer is just amazing lmao
I'm curious regarding your reasoning behind putting the Chime Hammer that low on the list while you put the Crypt Greatsword on your top 4 UGS. They are very similar both moveset wise and damage wise/element wise no?
@@eddielolivares3952 huh? Inconsistent how you mean the special attack? I agree it's garbage but other than that it's a classic greathammer moveset. Also it's dark damage (you saying it yourself in the video lol) not fire, same as crypt
I dont recall every detail right now. But graet hammer are better when the don't have splitt damage in mt opinion. However most weapons in ds2 are useble, but i had to put it some where. Also dragon bones are rare, and should used with great thrift😋
In my opinion the Warriors Club has the best 2 handed r1s in the entire greathammer class, they come out so fast and in higher NG+s, the pancake slam just comes in so clutch man it's crazy how you can cheese all enemies with it The R2s are bad tho, but why use the R2s when you have a godly R1?
dude whats insane is that even though youve shown a comprehensive video on hammers NONE of these look strong lol! some of them even had a 60+ str stat requ8irement!?!?!?!? and doing low damage like this?! its insanity
Yh i see what you mean. The only thing the have really is the R2 smath. That pankaes many enemies and allows you enougth time to heal. But yes big weapons can't really compete with smaller ones
Man this should get a ton more views
I agree. Underrated channel.

Could you try ranking boss weapons that have unique abilities from worst to boss?

Kings ultra greatsword at 99 strength has an AR of 784 (774 I think) which is higher than the giants hammer
A mimic has the malformed skull.
LOVE DRAGON TOOTH
That also includes boss shields too

I have two rings that increase my carry weight and i had vitality at 45 i belive. When u go over 70% carty wheigt i fat roll

The Dragon Tooth increases fire and magic defense.

Happy you like it, its not really one i use myself though.
Bonking is fun

Its to inconsistent, and it does fire damage worst type

Are you ranking each weapon worst to best
Kinda
The unga bunga build
too bad the ironclad soldier’s great hammer is unobtainable - great vid
is archdrake mace number 3? 3 seems to be missing and so is the mace
Archdrske mace i put in the halberds and the mace is in hammers video
Dual chicken wing meta
I thought ER had some ridiculous looking weapons😂
Did the Smelter hammer dirty putting it so low.
Its just cause its not very effective for serious combat. But one of the most fun hammers though🤟
@@eddielolivares3952 yeah man I discovered your channel today. Your videos are amazing and very informative.
