Genius! I had 2 Smart Key locks to re-key. The first one was no problem, but on the second I did something wrong and neither the old key nor the new one worked. It was going to be a paperweight until I watched your video. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!

This video saved me $250 dollars in new locks. We had lost all of our keys (long story) and thought we would not be able to use the locks anymore. With this video I was able to re-key the existing locks to a new key and am now up and running again.
Great video, thank you! Had a Kwikset Premis with no key (only keypad code access), and followed these instructions to rekey a new key. There were a few other pieces to remove with the Premis but they were straightforward. Saved me a trip to the locksmith!

I know this is a year old, but I have a question: Are the Kwikset locks interchangeable? My daughter just bought a house with a 'Powerbolt' system, but the owners 'lost' the key. SO.. if we bought a cheaper KwikSet deadbolt lock that's already keyed, could we just swap out the tumbler part? Thanks in advance
Thank you for this video .However I am obviously doing something wrong as once I insert the key and release the side bar assembly I am no longer able to remove the key unless I pull the side bar back?
The reason for me that the key wouldn't come out is that my lock was slightly different. I was pushing a side piece in when I shouldn't have to get it into "learning mode". This video also helped: czcams.com/video/ww0b0E4IcM8/video.html

Awesome! This video helped me to sell a kwikset biometric fingerprint deadbolt that I stole from home Depot. There was no key in the box and I couldn't return it because.... Well.... It was stolen. I was going to have a hard time selling it without the physical key , but this video solved my problem. I got my drug money so now I'm smoking my blue pills and working on my next scheme so that I can support my addiction without working at a respectable job. I hate doing honest work for other people. Stealing and being a parasite on society is so much better of a life... Anyways, thanks again! God bless 🙏

What if you can’t get in the room to get the ther side of the lock and both keys don’t work

What type of key is that?
Try what I did to keep the tumblers in place. Add a drop of 3 in 1 oil on each tumbler and it will stick them in place. Works ....

This is only a year old but the design is totally different. There are no black clips but a solid sleeve. I guess it is impossible now??
