Mike's last year with Bulls was the 1998 season, back then it wasn't an 8 second violation, but a 10 second backcourt violation. The 8 second violation started in 2000 or 2001
Yeah I was gonna say "Nah man that 8 second violation was a 'new rule' to force faster offense" -- and then you said 2000 or 2001 ahahahaha, yeah I'm fucking old because pretty much anything that happened after 2000 I think is "new" still rofl.
MJ had the greatest fundamentals ever
That's expected since he was taught by a highly esteemed University dean.
@@katrinachavez3533 how many other players player for Dean? MJ was the reason..his attitude and work ethic
M.J. was literally a 2K character someone would make with everything maxed out. He was a walking cheat code. G.O.A.T.
what a lot of today's NBA fans haven't seen MJ do much of in these video compilations is the many clutch shots he hit as it relates to the 24-second shot clock winding down...there's also a video here on youtube showing MJ sinking a few half court shots as the clock expired...he jus t never seemed to panic in those last few seconds...MJ was so entertaining when he stepped on the court...fans of both teams would be jaw-dropped and shocked at his creative acrobatics and wild defensive plays...
MJ's aerial acrobatics were amazing. Especially when watching in person. That's no hyperbole on jaw-dropping. I had to go see a TMJ specialist after each time I witnessed Mike live.
@@katrinachavez3533 Wow! That's what I call a show-stopper moment. 🤗🔥🎤🐐🏀. If MJ had been able to continue playing in the NBA, we would've had to go to an 'eye surgeon' to have our eyes put back in our heads because they would've fallen out from the shock at what we saw him do at 45, 50, 60+ years old...😁✌️
@@stevenaleman7454 Speaking of eyes - so many times I had to ask the person next to me "did you just see what I saw?" Had to make sure my 20/20 vision wasn't deceiving me.
@@katrinachavez3533 that's too funny!!
No matter who your GOAT is this man will excite you and it might be like that till the end of time. Amazing
The Goat 🐐 MJ 23 is the best there ever was and will be 👈💯
MJ was more clutch than that NBA logo. And you're 100% right about his ability to turn from either shoulder. Then when he faces you up he can drive hard right or left off dribble or jab. Then you factor his jaguar-like quickness, bounce, hang-time and multitude of go to moves. That's why he was unguardable.
Great reaction! This brought back so many memories for me!
It's not a 8 sec violation because back than you had 10 sec to get the ball over the court
He always said he wanted to perfect the game and he came closer than anyone during these years IMO. Check out "michael jordan rise" by clutch productions. Its his 80's highlights where he dominated with pure athleticism
80s? Raw athleticism? That Air Jordan with hair was just unfair?
1:29 that's a perfect example of "making the right play" at the end of a game. But it only works if the defense is EXPECTING YOU TO SHOOT, so you're able to draw their attention away from the guy who is left open to receive the pass!
2:50 in todays game maybe. But it was 10 seconds at that time in the league. 8 seconds is a relatively new rule.
Wondering why there’s a lot of close games? Because Phil Jackson always removes MJ to have all his teammates get a hold of the ball so when it’s crucial time everyone can shoot the ball without hesitation making MJ more lethal because he can pass to everyone and they still makes it, but sometimes they let the opponent catch-up and ended up MJ closing games by stopping opponents and have unstoppable offense. Making MJ plays like a hero most of the time.
i was devastated when Stockton made that shot
In 1998 there was only the 10 second backcourt violation...not 8 seconds
Best lebron fan ive ever known!!
10 second violations back in that day. Not 8 second like today...lol
Back then it was a 10 second volation in the backcourt. They changed it to 8 to speed the game up
It was 10 seconds in the backcourt at that time
Damn man. I'm starting to think you have the official rule book of the NBA. How in the hell you remember that?
@@katrinachavez3533 lol. The Bulls days was the only time I watched basketball regularly and it was always 10 seconds haha.
I just looked up the time when 8 seconds was introduced, it says 2001. I had no idea it's been 8 seconds that long. For some reason, I though 8 seconds has been around only in the last several years lol
@@bwink23 My two favorite players all-time are Magic and Shaq. So I watched hoops religiously from the time Magic came into the league to the time Shaq retired. I love the sport so my old ass plays it a lot more than I watch it. At times it's unbearable to watch. It has become so one-dimensional.
@@katrinachavez3533 I agree, i can hardly watch the game anymore, i've tried. I can't even sit through a whole game lol. I am used to seeing games that grind, with interior defense. It's so spaced out now. That intensity just isn't there.
@@bwink23 Lack of intensity is the key for me. My favorite football player all-time is Ronnie Lott. I know they're two different sports but back then basketball was played with tenacity. Now it's like watching an All-Star game. There's zero duress for offensive players.
🐐
Go to essential jordan and react to MJ highlights in all his air jordan colorways.
Hey Dream Team, back then it was 10 seconds to get the ball over half court, not 8. The 8 second rule was implemented in the 2000s.
micro skills michael jordan part 1 .... watch that
there were no 8 second rule back then. It was 10 seconds.
@dream team neal: In reference to the back court violation against the trail blazers near the start of the video - in the 1990's the rule was 10 seconds in the backcourt, not 8 seconds.
@Dream Team Neal
You @ 2:49: "Yeah, that's a 8 second violation..."
No young brotha, that rule didn't exist in the 90s.
What you have to understand is that the time allotted to advance the ball past half court, was shortened to 8 seconds in the 00s.
That rule was all part of the NBA's initiative to speed up the game, in order the assist w/ more scoring.
Yo in the Hawks game they just said he did it again. Didn't even say his name!
Chauncey billups was drafted by boston
You was wrong about the violation. Used to be 10 seconds not 8
I used to play against a point guard who would bring ball up court and tell you. I'm gonna cross you up and go right. I eventually started grabbing him when he tried to go around me.
i believe Billups was drafted by the celtics.. along with Ron Mercer.. and they had Antoine Walker.. that was a good young squad that did absolutely NOTHING.
It's not 8 seconds....you have 10 seconds to get the ball cross court
Jordan fans are annoying, ignorant and immature.. Still Jordan is the GOAT.. nice react.
