  • Welcome to Mike's Vehicle Spotlight! Today's MVS shines on the 2003 Dodge Intrepid. As you may know, I don't usually film vehicles as old as this one unless they are rare, or they are near perfect condition. This is my sister's very first car that was recently purchased, so I decided to make this an official MVS feature. Plus I love many Chrysler vehicles from the 90s time period. We will take a look at everything from the exterior features to the interior features and everything else in between.

    I just bought a 2002 ES Chrysler version with the same 3.5 V6, same wheels, leather, power everything, trac control, command start, CD changer/cassette for $1800 Canadian and drove it home from a province away. You are so right about the sound of this engine when you whiz by semi's on the highway, beauty. I was 17 in '98 when this gen dropped and I too thought the styling was gorgeous and knew I would get one eventually. One of the sleekest large sedans ever designed in my humble opinion. My 2004 LE with the 2.7 sadly died early last month, had it since 2011, but I ended up with a way better Intrepid in the end. Peace to all those out there with a love for these cars, and thanks to Mike for making this vid. Respect.

    Omg i love this car's bodywork so much!! I'm pretty much fell in love with this car since playing it in Gran Turismo 2 and wiping lots of competition in this ride!! If this thing's an FR it'll be even cooler....

    You know, I remember when the last generation came out in '98 myself. I always wanted one. I was wanting to get a 2004 R/T instead of the SXT. But I got a '04 Grand Marquis instead.I have to say, the Mercury has held up quite nicely due to all the abuse I've put it though.

    Damn your sister got lucky af with this find! That car is in fkin pristine condition man, I've always admired this generation just like you. My dad had a 96, awesome car even though it was the prior generation. And this coming from someone who drives a 2017 Audi s3.
    I've always had deep love and respect for 90s cars. My first car out of high school was a 96 Mercury Sable aka Taurus. Cars during that time just had a whole different feel to them, unlike today

    i have a 2001 that looks just like this one inside and out. It just turned 100,000 miles. it has the 2.7. i know about all the issues with this engine but i keep an eye on it and only run full synthetic. I bought it as a first car for my son. I traded my newer car in on a new car for him and now i drive it. I love this car. It is basically a mitsibishi. If looks and feels like a brand new car. Just put some new struts on it front and rear and the ride is awsome. I just drive it to work and back. Very cold AC by the way. Got the windows tinted and it looks so cool. I have put some money into it and i plan on keeping it for a while. I only paid $3,000 for it a couple of years ago and it had 92,000 miles on it. It was owned by an very old man that didnt drive it much.

    • @TheSearchandfind
      @TheSearchandfind Před 5 lety

      I think the 2.7L was really the big issue. 3.5 V6 was pretty solid. The reason I kept away from these car's was mainly the transmission.

    No ABS on a 2003?

    • @MichaelAdamsRocks
      @MichaelAdamsRocks  Před 8 lety

      +vb7200 There are actually a lot of 03 models that had ABS as optional. My 03 Aztek wasn't equipped with it. Even my 08 Grand Prix didn't have it.

    • @vb7200
      @vb7200 Před 8 lety

      +MichaelAdamsRocks Damn I thought it was standardized in the mid 90's. I've never heard of it being an option, but I have heard of AC not being standard on some vehicles though.

    • @orasis
      @orasis Před 7 lety

      ABS can be (and I think is) fucking dangerous and stupid in snow.

    • @vb7200
      @vb7200 Před 7 lety

      I just realized my car doesn't even have it and it's an 06... Would rather not have it since I'm used to it now. Much more control over your car in snow and such. I usually drive around in a lower gear instead of just having it in drive, (like 2nd or 3rd) and it gives you so much more control, tires don't slip when taking off and you engine break instead of having to use the break so you don't slide all over the road, not sure if it's doing any good to the tranny tho...

    Unfortunately plastic used in Chrysler products suck and stay away from the 2.7 liter engine, unless you're proactive in maintenance? Worse thing Chrysler ever did was get involved with Renault !
