Well worth the $130 I spent! Haha Reused original tips. I asked them to have the tips extended out a little to match the diffuser I have. 2.25" steel piping welded axle back 1 year after install
@@harmanbans sorry this is late, I had a wrap shop do it with using cutting tape. I'm not too skilled with wrapping so I can't say. But I just got a sport bumper and will be painting that in the same pattern, you guys interested in a video of that?
I recommend it as a budget option. The other axle back systems sounds to silent for me. My next plan is a HFC / or complete cat delete + a full cat back exhaust system. It does drown, mostly in the 1500-2000rpm range, which unfortunately, is where you spend most of the time in local driving. It is drowned out by music. Something's I even drive in manual mode just to keep the car in 5th gear so the engine is at 2000+ rpm where it doesn't drone. If you have 1000-1500 to spend I would just get a cbe. Also, check out my other exhaust videos.
@@SteU4IA ahh I see. I think I'll get a Remark System, Axle back, so I can keep my stock muffler, and. Not have to cut it up. thanks for all the info beautiful car.
@@harisqureshi7469 thank you. Yea that system works as well. One reason why I just went custom is because with a rear diffuser, I wanted the exhaust to pop out a little more, otherwise it would have looked tucked in (which might occur with these pre fabricated axle back deletes) just an fyi
@@SteU4IA ahh I see... Yeah I was just going to do resonator delete and test pipes but I might either do vibrant performance resonator, and test pipes, and maybe a different muffler setup.
Tell them to cut the entire muffler off after the last flange. Then cut the 2 tips off the muffler. Bend and weld 2.25" piping onto the end that the muffler was just cut off from, and then weld the 2 tips onto the other side of the piping. Fairly straightforward. The flange was kept in place in case I ever wanted to quickly remove the entire set up. I also asked them to extend how far the exhaust stuck out to match my diffuser. Of I kept stock length, the exhaust would have been tucked in.
Hey ste, so update I’ve went to a car lot because I found a q50 S for good price but it had a new electrical problem and it need power steering ik it seems bad but I just turned 18 and this is the car I’ve had my eyes on for a long time now and I’ve saved a good amount of money to put down on it and I went to go buy it yesterday and the guy told me it was in the shop because of some electrical problems? U think I should still give it a shot because I can’t find any other one it’s really hard to find the q50s where I am
Where are you from? These cars used sell at a very good price due to depreciation and dealers leasing/financing these out at great prices like hot cakes. I wouldn't bother with a car with electrical issues.
Ste .L I’m from North Carolina and they asking 17k for it and I saw some other ones but my limit is 20k on the dot so I’m lookin for some around 17k or 18k and that really was the only one I saw for a good price around here but the dealership guy said that. That they are fixing everything that’s wrong with it and let me know if they fix it so should I still stay with it and hope for the best or just keep looking ? And also it came with a muffler delete installed
No. Any losses from back pressure drop, if any for that matter, is negligible. I didn't feel any significant drop in low end torque, I feel the discussions on forums regarding this only feeds into the false assumptions. I can't prove if what im saying is correct, but I am sure in hell not ready to drop $600+ for a tune for miniscule changes to the TQ. What most people "feel" is likely the throttle remap. If anyone has had a tune after a muffler delete, please feel free to comment.
The drone is only present at certain RPMs heard only in the cabin. If you listen to music it typically drowns it out. I have no issues with it. Worth a try if you can get a shop to do it for a cheap price (in case you're sensitive to the drone and want to reverse it)
I painted it myself gloss black. Sanded it, primered, several coats of gloss black, followed by 2k gloss clear. Did all this with the tires on in 2 days.
Wow, this sounds nice! Not too obnoxiously loud, unless I'm wrong? So i can just get a y pipe with muffler delete? That's affordable. $150 bucks. I'm not looking to spend 2Gs on a stillen cat back or whatever. The exhaust shit on these cars is ridiculously expensive.
It's not too loud, the cats muffle the sound decently. Y pipes were not included prior to the making of these clips. I did recently put on those $100 eBay Y pipes and it does have a deeper note. I will make a update compilation soon.
Yea I wouldn't bother with the aftermarket exhaust. Albeit the cat backs are wider in inner diameter which will allow for better flow (with minimal performance gain), but the cost just isn't worth it.
@@SteU4IA thx for getting back. Idc about performance.. more flow, extra HP, torque etc.. and I wouldn't even do anything if the stock exhaust had a little something. It's incredibly quiet for good size engine. So for a mild tone, the mildest I'm talking.. just a little more rumble than stock. That's your advice, just y pipe with muffler delete? Would be grest, but I forgot to keep legal, so the quietest affordable setup with muffler? Any advice? I'll find out more, but like to get as many ppl's perspective. Thx again.
I love it, 1.5 years later and I still enjoy it. Much better deal than an axle back kit. No performance gains from either, so why not pick the louder and cheaper route right? I highly recommend it.
Where did you get the front bumper
More videos this q50 is nasty my guy
Where is that red front splitter and red diffuser from?
Its just vinyl

How much was it to get your stock 17”s painted
I painted it myself gloss black. Sanded it, primered, several coats of gloss black, followed by 2k gloss clear. Did all this with the tires on in 2 days.
How did you get your front bumper to look like that?
It's wrapped and it also has a front splitter.
Can you give me the link of the muffler delete you got
I just had a shop custom fabricate the pipes.
Ste .L how much did you pay them
What exact model is your car
Did you just remove the rear mufflers and add a pipe?
Yep, pretty budget friendly

Where did you get your racing stripe decals from?
Off eBay, any vinyl strip/pin striping will work.

Tearin up the burbs
😂
Does yours drone? mine drones a bit around 1.5k and 2.5k rpms
Yes there is drone. Most prominent around the rpm you mentioned, especially when it's cold.
For Muffler Delete Did You Keep The Stock Tips Or Which Brand Did You Use?
Kept the original tips, had it extend to look better with diffuser
Did u plasti dip the wheels?
They were painted. If you think you'll like them black then I would just paint it.
Ste .L alright thanks bro. U have an insta or something for ur car?
Are those the stock wheels?
I have 2 sets, one is original 17". Both are in the clips.

There's also a deeper growl to the sound that the video does not capture unless you're listening with speakers that have a good low range.
Scared it might be to loud man, you ever wish it was quieter? Or toned down a bit? Scared of drone too lol
