- In this 2nd episode of the "Surf Faster" series, Noel Salas and world-renown shaper Rusty Preisendorfer talk about what makes this design so unique. Starting with the original Rusty Twin Fin, Noel and Rusty begin by changing the wide point back from center, reducing rocker and changing up the bottom contours with "rapid entry" to make this edition even faster than the original. Noel likes a high-performance board outline with a medium performance rail, and the "Deuce" doesn't disappoint. It's friendly in small beach breaks and overhead surf. Noel really wanted this surfboard to be easy to ride for those surfers who love thrusters. Watch as Rusty board rider Bo Raynor takes to the "Deuce" to the ocean, and find out how 1st-time twin-fin surfer Felipe Faraco describes his experience on the "Deuce." Tune in to the next episode where Noel and some of his friends really challenge the limits on the Rusty "Deuce." Enjoy!

Looks AMAZING!
Best twin fin from my mission is the Bushman Flow model ........ Hands down best board EVER!
Asa was ripping on that board last winter in the pool,so much I wanted to try it. Glad it’s finally in production! Thanks for the video and the recon work!
I hope you love the Deuce as much as Asa and I do!!
Looks fun but i feel if you can stiffen the tail a bit more be better so you can push it harder on rail and less flicky style turns.
Nice ,🤝👍🔔
i really want to try this board.but im afraid to buy him.i never surf on 2 fins?noal you surf amazing on the board
You will love it with my HP Twins
This is nex Level surfing Noel ! Mindblowinggg !
ok , I'm torn between the Lost RNF 96 and the Deuce,
How would you compare these boards as twin fins, if you could please ?
The Deuce has more of a HPSB outline with it having longer rail line and it surfs the pocket with more precision. Think of the Deuce like a HPSB with more speed top to bottom. The feel is a bit different as you only have two fins instead of three fins but you will still have the drive and hold you like about a Thruster.
The RNF 96 is super fun too. One thing that is hard to compare about these two models is the 96 has a Hybrid outline... so the nose is wider and the wide point is in front of center a little and makes that board want to carve more.
@@surfnshowreviews7777 thank you so much coach !!, Your breakdown is super helpful, and all of your effort and passion for making this twin, is making me go for a custom deuce, a collaboration from two legends , thank you again ! 🙏🏽🙌🏽🌟
@@chrisathan4293 Yewww.., can’t wait to hear about your experience too
This board looks like a lot of fun! How do you think it would do if someone sized up for smaller mushy summer waves?
I think it will go good. If the waves are 1-2’ and mushy then maybe jump on a Call with Rusty to customize is a little wider and shorter to maximize speed.
@@surfnshowreviews7777 Thanks so much for the quick reply!
Whats the max. Wave height you could push this in? I live in peniche and would love a twinny i can also take out confidently on 5-7ft day
Great stuff. Just got back from a 2 day trip at the tub. What a blast. Just curious, what's the difference between black sheep and the dark arts?
Dark Arts is a full carbon wrap top and bottom and Black Sheep is just carbon on the deck and rails. The way Dark Arts wraps the board in Carbon might not be the exact same way and I think that matters too.
Thank you.@@surfnshowreviews7777
Hi Noel, luv the show mate. Awesome stuff. Interested on how you think the Deuce comes up against the CI FB. I had the FB in spinetek and loved it but unfortunately the fin boxes cracked on me and had to move it on. Cheers n keep ripping 🤙🤙
The Deuce offers way more performance in the pocket. The Deuce surfs more like a performance board and likes a wave with a little more push.
The FB might offer a little more speed down the line due to it having less overall rocker.
Ok thanks, looking at pairing it up with the 421 fish. Have you ridden one? Looks pretty cool and love a crowned deck 🤙
@@seppyrox No sorry
Thanks for the great review Noel. Acc. to Rusty this board can be ridden up to 6ft+. I still ride my old neckbeard in a variety of wave types / sizes but this board tends to become unsteady and more difficult to control when the waves are head high +. Would the deuce provide more control in bigger surf?
Absolutely… make sure you get a pair of my HP Twins and you can shred it in well overhead waves and push through your turns.
Great, thank you for the quick feedback. Then this will be my next addition to my quiver incl your fins.
@@surfnshowreviews7777how your HP fins compare with Rasta twin thanks again excellent job
Very nice Noel ! How does your hip feel ?
It feels pretty good... I would say roughly 90%. Still working on flexibility and working out the scar tissue to be 100% pain free when I am surfing. The Surgery was worth it for me... I was in a lot of pain everyday. Thank you for asking!!
@@surfnshowreviews7777 ok, I am going to have bilateral hip surgery in a few weeks (I am 34), I hope it will work for me too.
First of all ,i love you channel! I must be honest i was watching most of you videos, you surf's amazing, i must say that i noticed you surf the best on CI peregrine, and The JS monsta 8 just beings honest
Do you recommend this board over the Twin Pin for over head surf?
The Twin Pin might offer a little more hold due to its pulled in Round Pin tail. However the Deuce will out perform the Twin Pin in the pocket and it offers way more down the line speed with less effort. The Deuce is more like a Daily Driver or HPSB and the Twin Pin is more like a mini step up.
@@surfnshowreviews7777thank you - just ordered the board, can’t wait to try it out!!!!
I'd say try to get rid of the wiggle after the frontside top-bash, and have more projection.
Btw, sort of related, Kong surfed best in 1983-84, see here:

Looks like another Skimboard with fins. Small planing surface makes these boards hard to ride.
try the JS MONSTA with a round tail ,the main problem of JS is the tails .he just doesn't know how to connect the squash tails to the rockers, if youll try the PU high preference round tail from himyou won't regret it
