- To commemorate the 5th anniversary of Dave retiring from late night television (his last show was on May 20, 2015), I've put together a series of "first and last" appearances, the latter paying tributes in their own ways to the last giant of late night (h/t Jason Zinoman).

Love this! The genuine sincerity of the friendship and genuine embarrassment of that "Mary" clip. Great stuff!
David always said he hated acting and felt horribly uncomfortable. He was right. He was made for the talk show medium but he was terrible at sketch comedy. He was invited to host SNL several times and always refused because he just hated acting.
In just 33 short years, you too can grow from a scrawny 8-minute slot to over 22 minutes of Guest Power!
Keaton not winning the Oscar for Birdman, still pisses me off.
I'd love to hear Dave's comments about Michael not receiving an academy award (as referenced by Keaton in this interview).
