    50 is about right on these bikes stock. We jetted ours with a 115 main jet and can do 55 most of the time. IMO these XR’s are a much “better” bike for the money unless you really want a minimoto type bike. They are great off-road trail bikes also. We have about 6,500 miles on our (2) XR150L’s now with great reliability and experiences! Money well spent.

    Just subscribed!! Awesome video!! I have a black XR150L with a 222cc BBK & BBR cam. It’s a blast for sure!! It could definitely use a bigger carb! I recommend a 26mm if going with a PWK style carb for stock bike and 30mm with the BBK. I think it needs a lower rear gear to be able to run 75mph.

    Congratulations to you for the ability to do reviews from dealers! The XR150L would be great for me when I get some more acreage to play on. I am going to check out Longshore as well, since they are not that far away from me either.

    Good looking bike and dealership.
    Those might make good MSF course bikes. My area uses the old Suzuki 125's which haven't been made for a while.

    Price point is stellar for what you get! I wonder if seat height is low enough for wifey a smaller DS?

    • @DirtRider22a
      @DirtRider22a  Před 6 měsíci +1

      It was pretty low, I could flat foot with both feet and I’m only 32” inseam. Plus it didn’t sag at all in the rear so loosen the rear spring preload and could lower it a little I imagine

    How would you compare this to my old 1975 XL 175 ?? Is this bike good Honda tough dependable ??

    • @DirtRider22a
      @DirtRider22a  Před 6 měsíci

      As far as engine, less power I imagine and overall slightly smaller possibly (I’ve never ridden an xl175) but as far as reliability I would say bullet proof, it’s based on the 150 dirtbike they used to sell and kids have been bashing those things around for nearly 20 years now and they are known to be as reliable as taxes.

    Thank you for showing how this rides at top speed. It is really disappointing. I own a 125 cc scooter that has a GPS top speed of 54 mph. This bigger Honda isn't any faster. I was considering getting one of these XR150L bikes to make my commute a little less stressful on the 50 mph roads with overpasses. I get my scooter to 54 just before the overpasses so that on the way up the speed only drops to 50. This heavy Honda wouldn't do any better and might be slower. It's only advantage would be a smoother ride due to the bigger wheels and more suspension travel.
    Pass. :(

      Not sure but my guess would be Honda makes it in a china or Taiwan plant

      I’ve owned quite a few new bikes over the years and I always just ride them as if they are already broken in, never had an issues. It can be a controversial topic but there is a lot of research you can do on it and on a 4 stroke bike it’s pretty safe to just ride without worrying about break in
