i see one on kijiji now for $750 kinda iffy bout it tho but i want something for my gf too zip round on thats automatic etc
Simple well done video. Subscribed.
Thanks, I appreciate it!!! 👍
Can you use the same oil for a 2024 model
Yes, any 10w40 “motorcycle” specific oil will work. If you use car oil the clutch will start to slip after a while so stay away from non motorcycle oil
Where did you get the 17t sprocket from? I am curious to do the same on my vstar.
@@bmlewan jp cycles I think, been so long now I can’t remember for sure.
@DirtRider22a cool thanks. Was it a pretty simple swap out? Or was there any adjustments you had to make?
@@bmlewan bolt straight on, just re adjust chain
Great video! Great place to ride.
Thanks Andy!!! Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
I'm betting that the "2.6" gallons includes if you could fill the tank 100%. In a lab they can do that by leaning it over, but not in the real world. I just got mine and haven't filled it yet but have seem people posting their experiences to forums.
Would 250R forks set up fit correctly on a 250f ?
I doubt they are the same length, and the diameter is different.
nice video man
Thanks!!! Glad you enjoyed it
Greetings from Bangladesh! Lovely scenery!
I appreciate the content! I enjoy watching the rides just for the scenery and insight on the bikes and all. I'd watch a long video of riding even if you don't have a lot to talk about
First! 🎉 I need to get out for some of that off-road exploring! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard next time your in north Alabama I can give you the grand tour, unpack your bike in the moto garage and we can explore all over
I mean this is definitely not like a liter bike, but this looks quite respectable!
Thx, perhaps my nxt bike coming down from an xr650l bcuz im almost 60 and dont rip anymore.
Can’t go wrong with an xt, either the 225 or 250.
When ordering off the BBR website did you order them as quantity 1 being one set of springs or did you order as quantity 2 as its two separate springs. Trying to order but do not want to order 4 fork springs, also don’t want just one. Thanks!
@@machurst1004 they are sold as a pair so quantity of 1. Atleast when I ordered mine it was
I just bought a 2015 rebel 250. So far my lights are ok. The highway speed vibration is a real thing! It’s my first bike at 53, (late start) but I’m hooked. I will definitely look into the handlebars though. Great idea! Wondering if it’s possible to mount some highway pegs further out. Great video. Very informative. Your haters missed the point of the video I think. You never said you dislike the bike. You just pointed out some things that can be frustrating about them.
@@zsadistmsf4742 definitely worth going down a couple teeth on the rear sprocket to help reduce vibration at higher speeds. And yeah, some people it just goes right over their heads lol
Can I change the filter if it’s full of oil?
Possibly, not 100% sure. If you leaned it far towards the opposite side for sure could.
Congrats on the new Moto shop. I am sure it will be filled with goodies soon
I have a 1990 350s, and it has a 6speed they all did .
is there any screen with the drain bolt or not
No, none that I can recall
Hey I was recently on the DMO website and they claimed they were no longer making the foot pegs for these bikes. You got them recently? I would love to get them as I have been riding my bike a lot lately!!! Thanks!
I read that on a Facebook group post recently as well, I hate to hear that he is going to stop making them. I would suggest emailing bradleyperformance and see if he has any interest in making them.
DR22, I like your set up. I just got a 2017 DR. I need to add some things to it. I need bark busters or a similar brand brake and clutch lever covers like yours. And those Tusk ‘hippo hands’ are quite helpful.
😂😂it's no where near a 1l bike it's closer to a 250 scooter than it is to a big bike
It’s quicker with the eboost than a standard ninja 500 but not by much lol
@@DirtRider22a don't look 👀 it 😆
@@adamrobson80 well it does have the ninja 500 engine in it but it’s also heavier because of the electric motor and 48 volt battery. Regardless it’s definitely not the 1000cc acceleration they advertise lol
The thing that I love about these motorcycles is that they are slow and go. They can be very relaxing in a ride. Those heavier, top-heavy bikes (with a lot of power) are killers. I lost a friend to a Harley…that was his fault for a need for speed. Keep your bikes to around 50-60 mph. If you go down at those speeds (having done it), you’ll more than likely be okay…with a good full-faced helmet, denim, and gloves.
Great info 👍🏼
i just bought brand new burgman 200 2023 LOVE IT!!!!
Maniac !
Cold air is more dense = more air resistance. Also, poorer combustion at lower temps.
Yamaha is in compliance with the 38 mph limit. To sell the 50 in the U.S. that's the law. Or so I'm told.
I think that applies to states that don’t require 50cc’s to be registered, Alabama isn’t one of those states unfortunately for me
A great video I’ve always wanted to visit Alabama. I’m located in Vancouver British Columbia Canada. I’m looking to get a new dirtbike for my son he’s 11 and now he’s on a TTR 110. The biggest challenge for young kids, especially when they’re only 5 feet tall and 100 pounds is jumping onto a bike. That’s 200 pounds and trying to ride narrow track that is fairly steep with rocks and roots is actually very difficult. it’s different if you’re just riding a flat field or wide rolling trails but BC has some very difficult single track and weight is an issue. Like a lot of things in life you solve one problem, but you create another four strokes have great manners, but their tanks two strokes are light, but their power delivery is not linear and they have horrible manners and are very intimidating so I guess you have to pick your evil.. I was looking at the KTM 105 XC with a recluse auto clutch and thought maybe that might be the perfect compromise… I went and took it for a test ride and I couldn’t believe how much power it had at 190 pounds I was doing wheelies and second and third gear so I think that’s too much power jump from the ttr 110. Like I said, you solved one problem you created another. It’s almost like there is no natural progression, That’s enjoyable for young riders doing challenging single track.
As much as I’m not wanting the gas bikes to come to an end, one good thing about electric is you can tune power and how quick power is delivered so once the major company’s have a range of electric bikes to choose from that may help bridge the gap
My wife and I have been together for fifty years and I’ve always owned bikes. My Burgman 200 is the only scooter I’ve ever had and it’s the only two wheeler I’ve owned that she’s ever asked to go out on for a second time! They are surprisingly enjoyable to ride, comfortable for the passenger (!) and really very practical.
Just subscribed!! Awesome video!! I have a black XR150L with a 222cc BBK & BBR cam. It’s a blast for sure!! It could definitely use a bigger carb! I recommend a 26mm if going with a PWK style carb for stock bike and 30mm with the BBK. I think it needs a lower rear gear to be able to run 75mph.
They are awesome bikes!! BBK and cam really wake the bike up!!
Top speed?
Google says around 110
Nowhere near 100cc
Agreed, more like ninja 650 acceleration
Hazard county got their first xr, yee ha
😂
Thanks for this vodeo, I just picked up a 2014 with almost 12,000 miles on it.
So did one size up on each jet run good then ? I have 01 883 put drag pipes & air cleaner on I was told 1 size up on the pilot jet & leave the main same what u think ?
It worked for me, you could leave the main prolly
I was taking motocylce coruse had a v star 250 and enjoyed it Planing on buying one but then i seen that the honda is cheaper just woudering if they are about the same (size as in hight)
Very same in seat height
Thank you very much.. I just picked up 2008 vstrom650. This has helped me a great deal.
Glad you found it helpful 👍
is this one stock or anything done to it? I am thinking of buying one hence my curiousity
Stock other than suspension upgrades
Where's this at?
Westpoint, Tennessee
Surprised more people don't put mini apes on these, or what l've heard called "US Spec" bars. Not sure l'll ever be able to buy one but if l do, think l'll put some on.
You got your wheelies on lock! Nice area too!
XT225's are great machines IMO. We enjoyed watching your video. FYI, my cousin runs a Tusk D-Sport on the front of his TDub that works really well (think its actually designed for a rear tire).
I agree, one of the best air cooled small displacement dual sports ever made in my opinion
@DirtRider22a Mine, too. I owned one for a while and loved it. We have the Honda XR150L bikes now. If we do the 70mm big bore kit to our little 150s engine, it's almost the exact same bore and stroke as the XT225 has. That big bore kit is on the short list of things to do next.
Beautiful area, and great wheelies! Thanks for posting. Take care. -Steve (2002 XT225)
I got a 2022 Suzuki Burgman 200 and just hit over 600 miles and my oil change light popped on. I bought it new at a dealership with 1 mile on it. The dealer said I could do oil changes and what not and still be under warranty as long as I saved my receipts. What has me curious is you keep mentioning this 3000 mile interval yet I’m only 20% there and my bike wants me to do an oil change. Anyways thanks for this informative video. I hope you respond but this video is a good resource none the less.
600 mile is the first break in change, then 3k interval after that 👍
As hard as I rode mine for the first 300 miles, I didnt have a filter and just changed the oil. When my filters came I changed it at 600 miles. There were shards of metal flecks in the oil at 300 miles and very visible bits in the filter. I saved it so that I could show people. Normally I would be a little worried but I watched a video about break in and it proved to me that I have nothing to worry about. Another video I watched later from a lubrication specialist confirmed my belief in changing the oil very early because of the metal shards and he was talking about new cars not motorcycles.
running a K270 on the rear of my XT225 it-was new when I bought the bike, put a Kenda TMII on the front and feel it's a good match for the bike, they are light, kinda soft-easy to mount and have held up well in 2k miles including a recent 300 in Moab....wouldn't be my choice for my bigger-heavier XR650L though, it's wearing MT21/D606..
can you try a 0-60 speed test? Im rebuilding a 2005 xt 225, japan spec.
Yeah, I can do that this weekend and let you know what I get
I got 17 seconds
@@DirtRider22a thank you!
