The box to which you inquired about on all 4 sides of the cars are like a wooden info sign if you will. Shippers use them to staple info to the car so rail workers or receiving party know more about it. A common one I see at work is "Clay Products, Handle with care" and "Do Not Hump". But you can pretty much see anything on those. Those are also on pretty much every single boxcar in circulation.

Hey.. nice equipment but what's up with the snap track...is it Christmas morning? Laying your own track ...assembling your own track is the challenge. Also running it one the floor is a great way to get it damaged..stepped on..tripped over and full of dust and hair. But nice floor!
