- The Rolling Stones have released their second single Sweet Sounds Of Heaven featuring Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder. It's completely different to their first single Angry, and people say it's similar to some of their 70s classic. Is it? I love The Rolling Stones music from the 1970s, so let's have a listen.

Happy PTL 20th Anniversary 👏👏👏
That's the edit, the full version has like 2 extra minutes of Stevie playing, and Mick and Gaga singing to each other, those 2 minutes are heaven.
💜
Thanks for pointing that out and recommending!
❤
Album version is PURE MAGIC!
Top 30 Stones song!
Mess It Up is a classic too!
Mick’s voice is so clean and smooth. Reminds me of the 70’s.
My experience, both as a fan and engineer tracking Flashpoint Live, is that Mick has enormous reserves, like any master musician. His instrument is solidly in control. Pitching exactly when he wants or speaking with every degree of ‘looseness.’ He’s in a rarefied group of singers, invented the style, and I never tire of it.
It’s a fantastic song. I am very lucky to have seen them live last year. Incredible for a 24 year old guy to see a band from the 1960s performing live.
Incredible for a fan of any age to see a band from early 60s performing live. . You must have had some good influences in your life.
I saw them when I was 16 in 2018 :)
We never expected him to be around this long. especially as big of partiers he and Keith were. We thought Keith would be dead 30 years ago and he could be. He just may not know it
@@jackempson3044 may be not everything that as printed, posted or reported is true. Possibly he was not using like it was made out to be. Or he has an iron liver, pancreas and other key organs. …
I cannot stop listening to this song! It is absolutely incredible!
Mick voice is so fresh and clear..just like 50 years ago..brilliant...!!Beautiful the duet with Lady Gaga...thanks Justin, love your and your channel
Thanks for watching :)
👍👍👍👍👍
Mick sounds great! My person favorites of his are songs like “Waiting On A Friend” and “Emotional Rescue”, but it only takes a listen to other periods and then I’m in love with them again lol. “The Girl With Far Away Eyes”.. Now that’s one I love too. 🙂
I love this so much. It morphs between country waltz and impassioned rock ballad. The collaboration between The Stones, Gaga and Stevie is something that only legends could realise ❤❤❤
Is seems that you have reviewed the shortened version. Which is a bummer because that was a “fake” ending. In the full version they go back into it for another 2 min or so and it’s pretty epic.
It's 100% Andrew Watt bringing back the old Jagger voice. Something that has been missing since 1983ish. This album has got so much hype. Funny how when Jagger gets out of his own way he gets what he wants.
You played the edited version. Which has more GAGA and no ending. The 7min is the one you want.
Mick's in great form. His "Strange Game" theme to Slow Horses, from last year, sounded like it could have been recorded any time from the mid-'60s. Impressive.
472,000🎉🎉🎉…see you in Berlin in November and Manchester VIP in December …see you all on the ice…❤
The 70’s Stones…..17 October 1973 at Vorst National in Brussels (Brussels Affair) with Billy Preston on keyboards, Trevor Lawrence on saxophone, Steve Madaio on trumpet and Mick Taylor on lead and slide….. I was there….best Stones lineup ever and this track would fit right in 😎👌👏👏👏👏
I'm of that age when i remember the Stones from the 60s. My tastes in music have changed over the years but the 60s and early 70s Stones have always been there . This is a great song, have been playing it so many times since i first heard it.
Stevie Wonder was the opening act for the stones on their US 1972 the exile tour. The MSG concert on July 26, 1972 (wow that was almost 3yrs before JH was born) the last show of the tour and jaggers 29th birthday was incredible. 🎉😊.
Just Imaging Stevie Wonder as the supporting act 🤯, what a concert!
JHRA, this channel is so good, thanks. You never disappoint. 🥳
I love the diversity of the Stones over the past sixty years. Some people seem stuck on certain albums or time periods i.e. Brian years, Taylor years, Wyman years. Every time you have a band member come or leave it will change the dynamics and sound of the group. I believe the Stones have endured so long because they have been willing to evolve. Almost everyone can relate to at least a few of their works.
I’m sure you figured this out already, but find the 7 minute version - it has what you want in the extra 2 minutes after the version you reacted to cuts out, including Falsetto Mick and some absolute fireworks.
I really wish this had come out at the start of the summer its so good i could imagine chilling in a park or on a beach with headphones on in a world of my own or a pub or bar playing it loud perfect summer tune ❤
I'm Australia and sorry to say....I'm doing just that! 😊
They sound fantastic! I can't help but sing and play along! ....and then Lady Gaga comes in! I really needed this. It makes me feel like a young man of 60 again. That's the edited version. There's 2 more minutes that feels spontaneous... great stuff. I'm going C, B flat, F.... This counts as church, right? Best since Exile IMHO.
Saw them at the Olympic Park a few years ago and was astounded they're still performing at a world class level, true icons.
Majestic, without the Satanic! Gospel majesty. Jagger at 80, with a vocal performance for the ages, and a wonderful band of brothers testifying with him.
Inspirational.
I vote for a charity single but it's Justin doing all the different voices. 😆
Bohemian rhapsody ... all parts Justin 😂
@@M7Hartyessss
I hope you get to hear the full album version, it's got another 2 mins of amazing vocal back and forth between Gaga & Mick that I think you'll love.
First time I heard this, I was kinda blown away. Dare I say this wouldn't sound out of place if it had been on Exile on main street? Yep I said it. Can't wait for the album. Great review as ever, loving your work Justin.
That’s what I thought when I heard it - it just hit that exact groove
Slow down. Leave Exile alone.
Hmm I’d say I could hear it more on Goats Head Soup
@@DH_Artist Slow down. Let’s leave Goats Head Soup alone.
Axl Rose in the silver suit, delivering call/answer voice parts. Sweet.
Dude I love your reaction videos. Watching these reminds me of great nights in the early 00s listening to your music. Having just listened again to your debut album, I’ve decided that the chorus from Love on the Rocks… is the greatest chorus from any song ever. And now I’ve got that weight off my chest I shall have a lie down.
This is almost up there with Wild Horses for me. Instant classic.
Nice song. Loved Gaga on this... and that impression of her that you did @9:59 was pretty darn impressive! Nicely done!
I really hope they had cameras recording all these sessions for a documentary to come out at some on. Seeing the stones, stevie wonder and lady gaga have their jam at the end of the song on video would be amazing to see
It is an amazing song!! Nice duet with Lady Gaga!
Thank you Justin ! I love the way you speak about music, musicians and music industry!!!
Good luck for the Darkness Tour! 🤩
Your music is very nice!!! 🤘
Well said Justin, “ Who could ask for more” . Loving that they are still making music. Music is the best!
i love your vids - happy you did this , just listened to the original recording of Fool to Cry - -- his voice is excellent - and the control is still there.
Man, his voice sounds amazing, crisp, and so clear. Very impressive. ❤
Hi Justin. That fast 3/4 is actually 6/8. 6 beats in the bar but the 1 count and the 4 count are the main beats you can feel going on. Great song! Have a great tour! 🎉
04:09 🎶...in the EYEBAAALL!!!🎶 😂
05:44 PAIIIIIN!!!😂
06:58, 09:58, 10:35🤣🤣🤣
Today's episode had me in stitches all the time🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was inspired when i did it in 1999 yeah the 3 chords with the tune and the groove❤
Wow, I’m just shocked. After all these years Mick was able to recapture that sound. Or any damn sound at his age and has toured as much as he has. And Justin nailed it, the 70’s stones, also my favorite.
That was beautiful. And giving me chords I can play..supersweet😊😊 you're a genius Justin don't ever stop❤
Ooh this was nithe❤ always impressed at how you’re able to deconstruct / analyse a song Justin, hope you’re well.
The best track they've recorded in ages. The naysayers can do one.
Yeah it is really authenthic🎉 it is a three four i didn,t know❤
AWESOME video Justin. Love the new Stones song. You should hear the 7 minute version though. It’s the one that’ll be on the album and it has Gaga as more of a backing singer. Both versions are great though.
You listened to the edit. The full version is exactly the same...but 2 more minutes of awesomeness kick in at the end.
This a SUCH a gem of a song!! Goosebumps!
Fantastic song! Thank You, Justin!
Hello Justin, thanks for the video
I'd say 6/8 time
Mick sounds Crisp and Fresh like the 70's 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent! Hope you will do some other ones from the album.
This was the edited version, the "soul" ending is on the extended version :)
Having a cup of earl Grey and loving this video
No moo, right?😅 My eldest gifted me a tin of Twinings Lady Grey. I suppose its a tad more subtle with the orange tones. A nice brew.
@@667neighbourofthebeast mine was Higgins and Burke
I agree I’ve been amazed at his voice now it’s better than ever!
I agree that digital pitch-correction is not immediately apparent like it is on “Angry”, which makes you wonder why on earth Watt thought it was necessary to ladle so much of it onto the vocals on that song, when Jagger clearly doesn’t “need” it. I wonder if the backlash from its overuse on “Angry” caused them to revisit other tracks like this one and dial the melodyne back a bit. Nobody wants to hear Mick Jagger singing perfectly on pitch like a fucking robot. He never did, so why should he start now?
That’s Watts way though. It’s fine tuned to fu*k. Same with the Ozzy stuff he’s done
What a fantastic dissection of a fantastic song. And I'm with you: 70s Stones is peak stones. Not Taylor. Not Wood. But the whole decade! From Sticky Fingers to Some Girls!
From Beggars to Emotional Rescue
Love your show by the way! The song is absolutely incredible. Sits very nicely in and around the sticky fingers era. I agree with you, I love the 70s stones
My heart is with the 70's Stones as well. Glorious mayhem in both their lives and mine. 👅
wings of pegasus analyses with software and will tell you micks voice has been processed through a computer and been pitch corrected, thats why its sounds good on the record
And this you know absolutely for a fact? There’s recent live videos of Jagger sounding just as good singing Angie. He over the years hits the mark beautifully as well as shamelessly throwing it away.
I think the comment I heard was Mick told Gaga that "she couldn't just sit there and hum." I think she got the point.
That was the single version. The album version is longer and has the breakdown. Superb. Love ya J
Brilliant track, among their best tracks. Much better than angry, can’t wait for the album now.
Makes me think of "Exile On Main Street" era Stones....Gives me awesome "Sweet Virginia" vibes. I guess it's gonna be Stones Sunday. Thanks Justin.
It's my new favorite song. And I haven't had a favorite song since I was born. 🎉
How he’s able to perform a live concert for 2 hours and not sounded winded is another impressive feat
Agreed. Keith isn't keeping up as well. I wonder what's going to happen when Keith has to sit down during a live performance.
I saw some footage where Keith sat down for the beginning of gimme shelter. He still kinda botched it. I think his arthritis is getting to him.
At 80 he still runs 10 miles a day when not on tour. He also chews gum while performing.
Who does? Mick..?!
Brilliant analysis Justin ,you just reminded me when I put a capo on my sons guitar to have a go and it flew off !(thought I put it on wrong ) Micks voice does sound r good .see u at the roundhouse in December, good luck in the USA !
You are right Justin. He is a legend and love Lady Gaga❤
I love how she goes an octave above him at one point, it's so Patty Smith and I love it!!!
This song is absolutely amazing!!!
Fantastic commentary thx
Thanks for confirming what I was doubtful of for the last 50 Years with the stones, yeah it's a lot more Rolling Stones, cheers
Check out the full version, that's the edit. Full version does indeed come back in like you wanted.
Mate u reacted to the shortened edited version. That break where mick and lady gaga sing over a beat and the bassline. And then stevie kicks in… Golden
So agree with your view on the sound of the Stones in the 70’s. Jagger also released a tragically underrated solo album in the 70’s which was off the wall good.
This track is also absolutely the Stones at their finest. Jagger’s vocals are off the charts.
I think the production of this sounds huge, it's part of what I enjoy about it. Not everything loud, which is a lot of modern production, just sounds really big and full. Ditto about Mick's voice. Something else.
It comes back in, in the extended version.
it DOES fall in again. In the sweetest way. Please listen to the whole album, Justin!
Taken in over its full length, it’s absolutely barnstorming - Jagger’s voice is far more reminiscent of the good old times than the mess it was on Angry, and the band are absolutely on it - it’s the Stones as we want to hear them, but the standout’s Gaga. What a set of pipes Ms Germanotta has on her. An outstanding performance. Bravo. And to you too, JH. 👏🏻
Watched your videos for a while - love your headphones!.... and the content of course... but the headphones... Grado RS2e... original pads? or something more comfortable?
Just watched the full video too... what a great track and recording!
Phuck, I'm crying with laughter here! 😂🤣 ..
Super awesome Stones track for sure. Amazing that Jagger sings like that at 80. I think it's among the best vocal works he have ever done
Yep great stuff.
Mick and all doing a wicked job.
I find this number is a great surprise, very old school
Probably the best song they've done since the early 80s
Incredible song
Hi Justin, If you read this, Could you talk a bit about what happened in the period when the Darkness broke up? (Hot Leg, Stone Gods) etc... Where did you go? Why? What have you been doing? How did Dan and the rest of the guys experience the whole thing? What made you reunite? Everything is interesting to me. Thanks and keep up the good work! :)
THIS IS THE BIG HIT OF 2023!!! if this was to be the last hit by the Stones, What a way to go out👍
Wow, Lady Gaga sounds amazing on this! And, yeah, of course Mick does too. Glad they decided not to overly pitch correct/auto tune.
But seriously. Lady Gaga shines here!!
No seriously, Mick is the who shines here! The sound of his voice is so fresh, the last this strong voice was heard in Fool to Cry 1976.
Lady Gaga really is a force and she really showed her excellence here. Brava!
Gorgeous song, makes me feel young again ❤❤❤
Lady Gaga is awesome 👌
That's exactly what I said. This is CLASSIC Stones reminiscient of all those kick arse albums written, recorded and produced in the 70s!!! It might not have Mick Taylor adding those transcendent riffs as he does but it still has that authentic Stones sound... get down and THANKYOU Jesus rockin,' right on the note, punchin' it through, passion and feel.
Mick sounds as energized as he's been in years on the album, which is great. I just wish the producer hadn't slathered on so much pitch correction to the point where it's so obvious. Mick's still got it. He's into it. No need to overly process the man.
Loved the smack me in the eyeball. Made me laugh!
Love the t shirt, looks better on you than me.😊
Takes me back to Fool To Cry/Can't Always Get
You mix the acoustic in well.
This song is amazing I've been listening to it over and over, this could have easily been on sticky fingers.
What surprised me, was seeing Mick and LG on Shure SM 7B's
He's a Real RocknRolla...Earth Soul Blues RocknRoll...
I've loved the song, and the duet with Lady Gaga is great. He still sings very well, and she has a wonderful voice.
You are starting your tour soon! Hope you kill it! I am sure you will do 🎸
Sounds like Gaga is channeling
Merry Clayton (from Gimme Shelter)
Great song, love the whole album. Classic Stones's sound
Wow! Loved this
One think that has helped Micks voice. Is the fact that he hasn’t had to be a Metal Vocslist.
