That really is excellent work. The use of old wood for all of the replacement parts means that it still looks like a restored old wheelbarrow when you're done, rather than a new copy. I am quite impressed!
Nothing else to add to the comments below. Just WOW. I am a car guy and have always preferred watching metal fab but you have opened my eyes. The way you salvage as much as you can, while preserving as much of the original, is time consuming and impressive. I lost my job a month ago and it's channels like yours that are keeping me "sane" during these insane times. New sub and a like from Tulsa, OK USA.
I've watched a dozen or so of these restorations from LADB and I just now realized this is a father/son operation (I think) which makes me love this channel even more!
I really like the sympathetic restoration you did on this, utilising any pieces you could reuse, and remaking those you couldn't. I especially loved the way the cat 🐈 supervised the entire project, giving it the final "meow" of approval at the end of the video.
There's something very refreshing about your restoration videos, maybe it's the pacing, the fact that you do so much of the work outdoors... It's just very relaxing and enjoyable.
I tip my hat to you both. You have always saved a piece for the brink of ruin and yet kept it old. Your Restoration Skills are Amazing. Saving old parts when and where ever you can.. Also Avril give the projects the final approval.. Peace
Прошу Вас - сделайте видео о всех предметах, которые Вы реставрируете. Было бы интересно побывать у Вас на экскурсии, хотя бы и виртуальной. Мне очень понравилось это видео и эта реставрация. Привет из Сибири, Россия.
It seemed like a majority of your work here was in replacing dry rotted wood. you used several methods of repair and replacement, all beautifully done. It definitely added some character, and strength as well, to a work that already had plenty of both. Excellent, as usual!
Not only does this make my restoration heart happy, I’m also very pleased when you are able to repurpose some of the original wood and used some wood from a nearby branch as well. You guys are brilliant.
So impressed with another labor of love. Was guessing Father or Son by the smoothness of the hands. Looks like Avril has a permanent loving smudge from Dad.
WHEELBARROW RESTORATION I must say you did a amazing job on that old broken down wheelbarrow. It looks just beautiful, and I see that the cat approves of it to when he got into it. You really are very good at bringing life back to the old broken down wheelbarrow. Most people would look at it and say well have to buy a new one. Keep up the good work. MissKat in California
Beautiful. Love those old wooden wheelbarrows. It's so nice to see someone showing us that broken things still have value and can be repaired and restored. Great video.

There are a bit too few feline moments for a cat video... *checking the channel*... Ahem, right, nice restoration, all that wood working is great 😅
Love your talent. Also, I have had only one cat in my life and it was an orange tabby. She found me and was starved. I think her owner had died and family didn't care. She was the sweetest and most loving pet I have ever had. Never did even one thing wrong. She just wanted hugs and kisses all day. She developed kidney disease. I will never forget her and will love her forever.
I loved the restoration using old weathered wood instead of new pieces. What really sets it off at the end is your cat. I feel like it should read "Avril inspected, Avril approved,"
Pete Peterson my cat, Mafia was one of the stars of this video, he is now pissed at not receiving credit for his appearance and now now negotiating a contract with other neighborhood cats , be afraid and do not feed any strays, they may be infiltrators!
Another beautiful thumbs-up restoration, I tip my hat to your expertise. To those who give a thumbs down have no clue as to the time involved, tools needed, expense involved, or knowledge and skill set with this type of a hobby. These artifacts and restoration projects would be a cherished addition to any museum. Truly beautiful restoration.
I've got to say how pleasant it is to hear the sound as it happens. I watch so many videos with the volume muted due to their choices in music. Love this video!!
I kept trying to make a tea but had to keep reboiling the water because I couldn't take my eyes off of what you were doing. You did an amazing job of restoring something very precious. I could watch you work all day.
This is _so_ impressive; what seems a simple, basic construction reveals so many refined touches that must have come from generations of experience. Were these used in a vineyard? (I would have used antifreeze with borax as an antifungal and insecticidal treatment, but you are the guys doing the work, and we are mere cheering from the sidelines. _Magnifique_ !
Oh, this is so inspiring! Over the years I got rid of most of my wood-working equipment and tools, and now I wish I had them. Living where I was, I thought they would never be needed. Now, I've moved to a half acre in a tiny community in Canada where I'm there's a need for minor carpentry, using what I have left. Last fall, for a 'mother's day' gift, I bought myself a cordless "drill/impact driver set - on sale. How did I ever do without it? Thank you for the incentive. I never would have imagined one could restore a such a dilapidated implement. To watch a master is such a pleasure.
Glad to see you taking advantage of the ever-important Cat Scan, lol. I loved this video - I could almost smell the wood shavings and sawdust, one of my favorite natural fragrances in the world. What a magnificent job you did; thanks so much for sharing this!
I watch a lot of restoration videos, but honestly haven't seen anyone do something similar yet since most of them work with metal and mechanics. When I read the title I expected you to just basically build a new one out of new wood, especially when I saw the condition the old one was in. Did not expect you to safe the old wood and combine it with other old wood. Gitta say, great job, hope to see more of your work in the future
I have a wooden wheelbarrow exactly the same as that. Made by my late wife to help build her first home back in the 1970's. She was born in the Netherlands, came to Australia as a young girl with her parents and told me it was a typical style over there......
Seeing the state of that wheelbarrow, it would have been easier to use the old parts as templates and make a whole new wheelbarrow. But I know that’s not what your channel is about. You obviously work with your hands as they have seen a lot of work and the power tools are all high grade and well used. You and Avril have created a masterpiece and I enjoyed every second of your video. 🇦🇺👍

In a wretched world where destruction is gaining popularity because all it takes is just one fatal blow to destroy something and hardly any labour at all, you are teaching the invaluable lesson of salvage and restoration through good old toiling and hard labour done with a lot of patience and affection for the thing being restored the fruits of which are visible in the end. How old is the wheelbarrow?
When he said "the wood is sane", he actually meant "the wood is healthy". In french we say "le bois est sain" which means it is still good to use.
Thanks for clarifying that.
@@amyfisher6380 my pleasure 🤗
It's pretty reasonable wood, too.
