Hello everyone,
In this video, I'll take you through the process of restoring a vintage sled. From start to finish, I'll show you how I repair, refurbish, and rebuild this classic snowmobile, giving it a new lease on life. Whether you're a seasoned woodworker or just starting out in sled restoration, this video will provide valuable insights and tips on how to upgrade and revamp your own sled. So sit back, grab a cup of coffee, and enjoy the ride as I take this antique snowmobile from drab to fab!
Have fun with the video and leave a comment and a like there if you now know how to fix a sled.
As beer I test this time a "Jacobs Weissbier" and I can already say I liked it, but see for yourself

try finding something built this well and with this much care today.
Dude put more care into the resto than original builder. Cleaned the steering weld up to hospital standards!
Never seen a man with that passion for his hobby from old he makes almost new
These continue to be the only restoration videos that make me smile and laugh out loud. I thought for sure this one wasn't going to get the "of course it needs to be tested" treatment, but I am so happy to be wrong! I hope this makes its way to the kiddo who got the tricycle, too. At least on loan.
Nice! A good amount of This Old Tony style 🤣
I couldn't agree more. When he installed the screws with the hammer, that was pure gold.
Thank you both, you got the reference 😊👍
There were so many positive things in this video that I had to make a note of them all.
The stop motion parts all made me smile. That 4-way split effect of all the work done on one piece looked great. I really like that you welded and evened out the cross piece - it made a world of difference. The handle was perfectly matched. It's great seeing all the effort you put into your videos.
This sled must have been a huge project, and all your hard work paid off. One of your best videos, making the beer all the more fitting. 👏
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback. Indeed it was a lot of work and I completely underestimated it :D it was supposed to be a quick project between the holidays.... boy was I wrong
Great video 🇨🇦
You are a beautiful magician by having all those screws screw in at the same time. I laughed my ass off about it and wondered if you believed in it yourself, but the sled turned out beautiful and that with a steering wheel, I had never seen that before.
First and foremost the videography and complete restoration were fabulous. Meticulous work on the runners, bleaching the wood and freshening some of the holes with plugs. Loved the stop motion and the final run down the hill. I have to say that I had the longer version (3 person) of this sled back in 1957 in Otterberg. It had a cowling on the front as I remember but need to look at some of those pictures to remember for sure. Mainly I remember going down the hill next to the house and going off the end of the driveway with about a 10' drop and landing in the potato patch...hard to brake and drive at the same time...;-P. We had it for years and tons of fun until I was a teenager but think Dad sold it then. Thanks for the restoration ride and memories!!
Such a nice story. May I ask where Otterberg is located?
@@NTRprojects Thanks. It's about 115km southwest of Frankfurt Germany and about 10km north east of Kaiserslautern.
the infernal cart. And it is very difficult for a child to drag this miracle of perverted thought up the hill. The restoration is good.
Stunning ❤ When even toys were made with such care, skill and superb quality materials, made to last. I remember having something similar. Flying down the old fire trail many winters in Marshfield, MA USA! Some of the most memorable days of my life 1976-78 🎉❄️☃️🌨
this video should stand as a lesson on how to create a totlly watchable video. I love this one, from the opening piece, trough to the beer tasting to the "say no to war" at the end.
Everything about this video was grade A. From the metal and woodwork to all the little details like counter sinking the screws and rounding the sharp corners.
It was also pleasant to see an old toy be brought back to life and the memories I had of one similar 60 years ago when I was just a boy.
Seeing it an action was the coup d'etat lol.
Mit großer Freude schaue ich Ihre Videos.
Respekt, Ihre Geduld und Ihr können scheinen grenzenlos.
Very well done, sir! This was very possibly your finest video to date. I know you poured lots of effort into the editing and production and it shows in the final result. As a bonus to an already great video, you have the new #1 beer review. Finest beer. Finest video. Finest result. Congratulations.
PS: I just noticed that all of your screw heads are aligned. I think I'll buy you a beer.
Looking forward to that beer my friend
Just saw you really did. Thank you very much
@@NTRprojectsmy pleasure. Enjoy!
All the special effects with all the 100 screws and such were Great. And I bet it took half a day just for that.
Awesome job. The steering wheel repair was the best part of this one.
Looks great. I'd love a ride on that. Lol. But, that's not possible. 🙁🙁🇦🇺🇦🇺
I think we can call this your masterpiece, Herr Doktor. Excellent workmanship, and greetings from Florida!
LOOKIN' GOOD, NICE WORK, KEEP WELL...
I am super impressed, not only with your restoration skills but with your video editing. Well done. Time to change the name of your channel to "Really Good Restorations". :)
Also, the design and workmanship of the manufacturer was excellent (for the era).
Fantastic work. Bravo.
When you said you were going to try it out, for a moment I thought you were going to slide down a bobsleigh track... 😀
Using the air to get the glue in deeper - genius. Loved your editing. Another great restoration. Have fun with it
Super Arbeit, alle Daumen hoch👍👍👍
Danke Gerald
Sehr schöne Restauration! Die Perücke 🤣 der Burner... Gruß 🐢
Thanks a lot my friend. 🐢
I'm envious you found one of these so complete and in relatively good condition. Great restoration.
That was very cool!
Отличная работа! Видео очень приятно смотреть, чистое наслаждение. За

конечно особенно большое спасибо.
The transitions are so smooth and fun! Watching your videos is always a treat :D
Nice job …bring back some memories for some .keep on doing what your doing.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Thank you sir for this brilliant video
The red stain was a nice touch. An artful restoration.
Wie immer einfach Weltklasse ! ✌🏼
Restauro perfetto, sei bravo amico 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Eine Restauration mit extrem viel Liebe zum Detail! Das Video hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht :) Ausgezeichnete Arbeit!
Vielen Dank und danke für den Kommentar CXFFEY
You are a perfectionist...superb.... feel like watching again n again.
Not only was that a beautiful restoration, you did exactly what I wasn't expecting you tested it! Fantastic seeing something that old brought back to life and put to use, I hope you had a blast riding it. Thanks!
Man the spammers are following all my comments for the last few days. Remember report them folks!
Glad to hear that you liked it so much William Borgeson
Beeeeutiful, very well done. It is also nice to hear someone call a slotted screw, slotted and not a "FLAT HEAD".
I get excited whenever a notication comes up saying a new video is available from here. I have said it a few times already but you can always rely on a great restoration, great cinema, and being entertained, not another rinse and repeat restoration channel.
Hey Christopher! Thanks a lot for the nice feedback
Very nice work. Love the fact that it still looks "antique" (only very well maintained) rather than "as new" like some restaurateurs would do. Only doubt the single screw hook for the cord will hold if you pull a couple of kids on it - but hey.
That beer review was clumsy but the way you poured that Weiss was absolutely SPOT ON
*_This was excellent. You really went all out. Love the result._*
Thanks a lot for watching and commenting Fully Restoration Solution
Hats off to you my friend WOW WOW!!! 👍👍👍
Glad to hear that you liked it so much Luis Manuel Soberón
Love your videos. Awesome editing. My opinion, one of the best on CZcams. Thanks for sharing.
You beat me to it! I've been waiting for some fresh snow here in the USA to test my sled I restored too before I can post the video! Been waiting for weeks, not much snow this year so far 😔. Mine doesn't have a wheel to steer though so I'm much more terrified 😰. Amazing job!
Sorry to hear about that. I know this feeling. My plan B was a final scene with me on the sled on a green field, screaming a disappointed and long lasting "no oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh" into the sky, while the camera is going further and further away.... But then it snowed on the day I was done in the workshop
Feel free to go with my plan B 😉👍
@@NTRprojects Hahaha, this was EXACTLY my plan too 😂
That sled looks really amazing. I have the sudden urge to ride again.
Going up the hill after the ride again was way more exhausting than I remembered it to be
I love to watch when you put screws back ! they are so even !
My OCD greets yours :)
Been binge watching these while sick 😷 normally I would be at work doing very similar things restoring pianos. Fantastic job, and I love watching!
It was great watching you restore this sled and then test it out. Back in the mid-1960s, the local grocery store in my village held a drawing for one of these sleds and I won it. I was thrilled and had the time of my life that winter and a few winters afterward. Thank you for the memory!
Awesome Stanley and congratulations on your drawing skills 😊👍
Amazing!
Beautiful. The oxalic acid really does wonders, but so does Dr Beer 🙂
Some great visuals in this one.
Klasse Arbeit und toller Schnitt 👍
Great work!
Really a great restauration!
Simply outstanding. Not only did you do a fantastic restoration and entertaining video, you actually took out the finished product and used it! It deserves a place of honor in your collection. Glad I found this!
The amount of joy that sled must have given, and now it's ready to do the same for another generation of children. Brilliant!
Gaaaaanz grandios.
Ich erinnere mich als Kind auf diesen Teilen bergab gesaust zu sein.
Danke für die Erinnerung(en) !
😊
The steering wheel repair was genius.
Thanks Andy
Beautiful restoration
You took more care and pride in that sled than the man that originally crafted it. Beautiful work as always. Danke!
Thank you for the compliments Joel
So awesome! That sled is ready for another 80 years of fun!
Another very talented job. The steering sled is the greatest.
Very nice restoration. The finished sled looks great.
Absolutely stunning!
This made me happy. I got a wooden sled with red runners in the nineties when my family lived in Utah.I only got to use it for one winter before we moved to a state where it doesn't snow. None of the weird plastic sleds can even compare. Thank you for bringing up good memories.
Thanks a lot for sharing Joseph Lane always great to hear when a video is recreating memories
Fabulous restoration, of course, but the video itself was really, really fun! Great job!
A very nice restoration from you...AGAIN. More and more, I think your videos can be classified under the category: "Satisfying videos."
Glad to hear that you liked it so much Adrian White Fang hope there's such a category and I make it one day
You are giving us piece of dreams at each new video ! thank you so much !
Delicately, professionally done and just excellent!
is it just me (someone who knows nothing about antiques) or is this better than the sleds we have today?! steering wheel and brakes? no more having to hope you dont run into a tree. ❤😂
What a killer restoration! And I love the little stop-motion animation parts. Well done!
I totally agree 💯
Made me laugh for sure. Very entertaining
Ficou lindo. Eu também quero provar a cerveja 🍺🍺😁
Nearly perfect. Thanks.
Geile Restoration und super editing. Die Kirsche war das Aldi Outfit zum Schluss 😂
Per usual, beautiful restoration. Black and red and natural steel all look so beautiful. The natural steel look gives it that extra accent that makes it pop, in my opinion. Thank you for the video.
There are things that are cool and there are things that are super cool! Good job!
This turned out to be GORGEOUS!
>enjoyable video....I like your whimsical editing style. The split screen view showing beginning to end process was effective. But that beer looked like mud😄
It did but it tasted awesome
Love your projects and skills
Amazing restoration. I was shocked to see you test it out in the end!!!
Fantastic. Thanks
YES PLEASE id love to have some of that beer! amazing work great job on the sled
Beautiful work with still had mine God bless you I'll always be watching and praying for you and your family and friends blessings
A nostalgic masterpiece to me... Congratulations
The slaughter of the dowels. 🥺 Can't we all just get along?
They started it. One of them even gave me a splinter 😁
@@NTRprojects Oh, kill 'em all!!!!
This made me smile a lot. Excellent restoration. Was very happy to see it was well tested haha
Echt nicht schlecht. Als ich Kind war stand so ein Schlitten im Schuppen. Würde sich vielleicht lohnen zu machen
Deiner sieht jedenfalls top aus. Wirklich sehr eine sehr schöne und gelungene Restauration. Mein Kompliment!!👍👌
Now that a cool design for a sled.
Definitely not terrible! I loved the edits and the stop motion, not to mention the excellent wood working and metal working. Bravo!
Beautiful video, outstanding results. Serious envy of your incredible shop!! You have ALL the toys!
Good job mister well done
Beautiful restoration ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ absolutely wonderful 😊
Just magical! What a wonderful result.
Your restorations are always a delight. This is true beauty!!
Very, very nicely done. A great restoration and not terrible at all.👍
Story telling genius!
Thank you very much
Oooh, using air to apply the glue to the cracked bits. I was expecting some string. New technique learned, thanks!
Agree with you : NO TO WAR !
Splendid job and I liked the liberal use of magic even though most of us lack that capability!
Glad to hear that you liked it so much Jozsef
WOW. What a great job. YOU did a lot more than what you showed us . Thank you for sharing.
Hey John. Yes you are right, but I had to find an end. The video is a bit too long already :)
This was so awesome to watch!!! First off, you’re editing is amazing and so unique. You don’t see these level of production for restoration anywhere else. 2) your work is absolutely amazing! I’m no expert, but I’m just coming across your channel and it is incredible. I can not imagine how many hours you put into this sled. Keep crushing it!
Glad to hear that you liked it so much Shelby Kurland. Much appreciated
Golden hands👏👍
