    I've never played a more versatile head. I've owned mine for 10 years and I'm still discovering new things. Best of the Best.

    I had loved the old VHT skeleton logo. I remember that it took me some time to recreate it, and get it looking good in the Fryette logo. I think I had given Steve a few different versions of it. I'm glad to see you guys using that skeleton logo at the start of this video. Steve is such an innovator and great guy. -peace

      Sam Z I had a '92 model and, sadly, traded it off. I also have a Deliverance 60. I recently traded for another 100CL, and couldn't be happier. As a long-time Soldano user, I've got to say that these two VHT amps are every bit as good as my Soldano SLO, and that's saying a lot! They're both definitely drier sounding than the SLO, but can also get more brutal when playing metal, even without an OD pedal because they are so extremely tight and responsive. What cab/speakers do you use?

    Great amp! The only problem I had was when I had it hooked up to a Boss Waza Tube expander power attenuator and the first red gain channel would not work. Not sure what I was doing wrong either.

    Anyone ever make an abbreviated foot switch for one of these, like channel and EQ only?
    Nice to hear the cleans
    Most people gloss them over and go right for max gain, which seems like a waste to me

    I had an original 1991 VHT Pitbull Classic (EL-34's) back in the early 90's, it was a fantastic amplifier, but these early VHT's had a reputation of blowing output transformers. I played, and still play Progressive Metal (Fates Warning, King Diamond, Watchtower, etc.) and the VHT was a great amp for those genres. I hope Steven is using more reliable output transformers in these new Fryette Pitbull amplifiers. They still sound great.

    • @FryetteAmps
      @FryetteAmps  Před 5 lety +9

      Not only did these or any of our other amplifiers NOT have a "reputation" for blowing output transformers, we have the lowest failure rate for any product, including transformers, industry-wide. If our transformers have a reputation at all, it's for their inherent reliability under the most strenuous and abusive circumstances.

      @@FryetteAmps I never had any issues with the one I had, but, I do remember that was the "scuttlebutt" in the early 90's about VHT Pitbull Classic and Ultra-Lead series heads. My late friend Ken Fischer of Trainwreck Amplifiers told me that they had issues too. He taught me everything I know about amplifiers. BTW: Couple of questions: are Fryette Pitbull output transformers using M-6 core material? And are the plate-to-plate impedance matched to either EL-34's or KT-88/6550... or are you using the same OT for either amp? Just curious. Thanks.

      @FryetteAmps  Před 5 lety +4

      @@scottdunn2178 Sorry, you've been misinformed. Our transformers are well known for being the most reliable in the business. That's a fact you can easily search for yourself.

      FWIW I have gigged with the same VHT Pittbull CLX since '96 and the only thing I have had to do is change the tubes. The thing is a beast and rock solid all the way around.
