I always loved to work in Gouache. It has the best from oil paint, aquarell and acrylic mixed up in one.
I especially love that you can mix every color you want in so many shades with just a few colors. I just use 5 colors to work with and mix up everything else myself. Yellow, magenta, cyan, a light red like Zinnober and a dark blue, plus black and white. That's all you need. Working in Gouache has something meditative. I totally dive into the process of mixing and painting.
What brand do you use?☺️

That way you don’t have to see them that ofen after you’ve something stupid, said something wierd etc.
I should start doing that to be honest.
It’s always funny to me how Anglo-Saxons aren’t familiar with gouache. 😀
Here in France I’m pretty sure every kid had a gouache paint set growing up. It’s versatile, easy to work with, eco-friendly (more than acrylic at least) and it easily washes off of everything with water. It has its limitations of course, and I was pretty fascinated when I discovered acrylic paint thanks to CZcams. But gouache is still awesome! 💕 Give your kids gouache paint sets!
@Litchee I'm from the UK, and gouache (pronounced goo-ash) is the standard paint used in primary schools, where it is usually known as 'poster paints' , possibly because the results are similar in flat colour to advertising posters.
@@MrsBarnabas So glad I saw this, I’m from the UK and I’ve always pronounced it goo-ash too. Everytime he said ‘gwosh’ I was like whaaaat? Have I been pronouncing this wrong my entire life? Must just be a UK/US thing.

I use white guache all of the time with watercolor and inks for easy gradient highlights and adding pthalo blue water colour to it to give teflective cool highlights. One of my favourite art things is gooochie guoche
The painting gave me Calvin and Hobbes vibes... the relationship between the boy and stuffed animal is so reminiscent of that comic
It took me years to even figure out how to use watercolors (and not even correctly) yet Jazza’s is over here learning how to use gouache in just a few hours.

I can't believe this video is already a year old. This video and Jazza's trying watercolors video is what made me want to try the two mediums. And I just want to say that I really enjoyed them.
If it wasn't for this and that videos, I wouldn't have started my watercolor and gouache journey.
I love gouache its my favourite paint to use. Its so vibrant. I love that it can reactivate but not bleed as much as watercolour.
When I first used it, I was in college. Nobody taught me, I just took an opportunity that was offered. What got me hook was the vibrancy AND how smooth the application was. So good. 😍
Just realised jazza looks like a younger Gordon Ramsay
Omg what have you done
YOURE RIGHT
Now I'll never be able to unsee it
Conspiracy theory: Gordon and Jazza are two halves of the same person. They were the two opposite ends of the spectrum.
Not really...

First off, you're an incredible, warm and welcoming presenter. Thank you for your videos. Just to give some perspective, Alex Ross uses gouache, so a lot can be done with it. It was gratifying to see this introduction to the medium.

This painting made me emotional. Tomorrow is my only son's second birthday. He's wearing overalls right now and I'm tearing up thinking about him no longer being a baby
that is so sweet
Don't delude yourself, he will be 80 years old and you'll be 110 and he'll still be your little baby. That's just how it works.
Dear Korina
My oldest turned 4 at the start of July, he so tall now and he's so into his dinosaurs he can tell you anything and everything about them/what they eat/what time period they lived in ect, and I just looked at him today and I just had this overwhelming sense of reality, and that he's growing up so quickly, he changes so much everyday, but...
No matter how grown up he gets, even when he's an old man, he is and will always be my 6lb 9oz potato. ☺👩👦💚
They are always our little babies. 💛
Happy birthday to your little boy!
Bless your soul Korina and happy birthday to your son tomorrow 🎉
That painting is amazing! So cute too. Awesome job. I still get blown away at how talented people are
I work primarily in Gouache, my favourite being Acrylic Gouache. Liquitex makes an artist quality acrylic formula that’s wonderfully slow drying on the palette, permanent once dry and can be used on canvas as well as watercolour paper. I love the matte flat look and the vibrancy of the colours.
Watercolours were my medium for such a long time but I longed for opacity and depth.
It’s worth a shot if you’ve never tried it before! It could lead you into other mediums such as oil or acrylic. :) it’s an amazing transition paint.
3:53 I thought "wow, what a dad thing to do." Then at 11:23 "aaaaaawwww what a sweet dad thing to do." Making me feel all the emotions here, man. * sniffles *
CZcams is the free version of the skill share

Ok fine. Take the freaking reciept. get out of my shop.
I'd say it's a really nice medium for the starting painter with a low skill floor but also a high skill ceiling :)
Jazza paints his first time with gouache. Paints better than most people can who've used it for years. *artist god level reached*
Mr. Poket if you're great with something as simple as pen and paper, you're good to go with the other medium. Only thing you need to learn is color mixing and pressure to apply with the brush.
Well he watched tutorials and took time to learn the material, you shouldnt compare yourself to other artist
JeffreyBezeau I don’t know if I would call Jazza great at pen or pencil. He’s okay, honestly I think this piece is better than a lot of his other stuff.

Thank you for the video, especially today. I’m heading back to college for my second semester in a few weeks and I was supposed to be rooming with two people I met in my first semester but only to find out they backed out at some point within the past two months and didn’t tell me so now I’m kinda screwed over, hurt and just really down now. I’m a shy person with some mental health issues so I guess it’s hitting me harder than it should I guess. I wish I wasn’t so down about it, just sucks knowing the people who wanted to room with you doesn’t and didn’t even bother to tell you. Anyways, thank you for the video it really cheered me up for the time being. Always love your videos and have been around way before 200K I believe. You’ve helped me feel better about my art style and have given me such confidence and pride I never had before about my work. Because of you, an inspiring art teacher I had in high school, and some supportive family members I took on college and am going for an Art degree. I never thought I’d be able to handle college with my issues, but I did and not only that, but I decided to go for a degree I never thought I could handle. I don’t see myself as an amazing artist, but I’m learning to see the good in my style as I said. So in short, thank you for this amazing video and helping me out in ways I can’t begin to thank you completely for. You’ve been such an inspiration to me and so many others. I can’t thank you enough. 💕
every artist is amazing! its just that they have styles which differ from each other. Believe in yourself and believe in your concepts. Let your artworks make you happy before anyone else. Cheer up!
Try not to worry too much about the people that were supposed to be rooming with you, I'm sure they have their reasons and I'm sure you can stay well in contact with them otherwise. Also, good luck with your art career! I hope you succeed with whatever you set your mind to!

Keep on doing your thing, dude! Those people are dicks, fuck them. You seem like a great person and I know you'll find your people one day soon! 😊❤️

the problem with skillshare is that theres already a free skillshare and its called youtube
I really hate how people think if you pay for something like Skillshare they actually learn just look at CZcams you can see people make pieces with it whilst teaching you, people who show you where to get it,and people who are better at explaining
Yea Ikr😂
i'm on skillshare and on udemy, both are similar, both have a lot of crappy courses and sometimes teachers won't care about your questions... but some courses are really nice and a lot more in depth that what you can learn here on youtube... and those good courses worth the subscription and i'm happy to be there. don't judge witout trying... i'm not paid to say that, it's really what i think.
To learn art sometimes you have to pay a little bit, artist have to get money too, it's how they live, paying doesn't mean the tutorial will be good, but don't expect to get 4 hours or longer tutorial for free.
i guess i would like to get a free week or sumthink to see into it
I laughed wayyy to hard at this 😂😂😂
