yeah old school my ass, this was the turning point of the games into mediocrity, while good on its own now years after release this was a clear fuck up from the jump. Old school will always be med2
I've taken 4 units of large balistas and demolished full stacked armies before. Explosive shot/manual control is OP.
I've done the same in navy battles too.
What you can manually shot the ballista I’ve play over 2000hrs and didn’t know that 😭🤦♂️
Learn something new all the time.
But if im not mistaken, even in the tutorial you learn that you can shoot manually
@@hasanator237I’ve noticed majority don’t play the tutorial. A lot of mechanics that a lot of people don’t know about they teach you about in the tutorial
Shooting towers can be helpful if there aren’t too many and you’re trying to funnel the enemy into one entry point or if you’re able to destroy all towers and make them go through your gates. At that point you have a significant advantage
What I like is I use Artillery to snipe ships 😃👍🏻, avoid them to do D-Day like landing 😃👍🏻
Especially transport ships cause it only takes 2 shots to sink them!

It's quite fun! But it does show it's age sometimes. Hopefully CA will release a great title soon.
Pro tip, Giant ballista block almost all enemy fire from the front. So you can use all the ammo on them and then have the crew walk to the enemy walls and make the archers etc waste all their ammo and then move your good stuff in. If the crew by some miracle die, have some other cheap unit walk up to the ballista and hug the thing until the ammo of the enemy is gone.

I like using em on towers and ladders. Even if only one ladder makes it, i can pin them into a tight area, while flanking with calvary once the AI commits all its troops to the ladder.or tower
I use art on siege ladders in campaign
Thats not a bad target cause you can usually knock down 1-2 ladders if you land all your shots.

What if you have a laptop and you don’t have a insert key and not every tech savvy so you just hope the arty have good enough skills haha also been playing too long and never knew you could rotate haha
You could try changing the keybind to something that you actually have on your keyboard but that's entirely up to you.
You can also hit the camera icon on fhe lower left-hand side of your screen. That’s what I do as a fellow laptop user.

I’m livid that Rome 2 has better siege mechanics than Warhammer 3.

Is there any reason to use explosive shot? Maybe against wavering troops?
I cant find any reason personally to use it other than watching people fly around sometimes. Standard and flaming shot are just much better.
How to place balistas on walls?
When defending they'll be in the equipment section for large & very large settlements
How about the explosive rounds? Is it that bad?
They just don't do enough damage.
Can I ask why targeting siege towers is bad idea?
Because in MP the arty only has about 8-10 shots. It'll take about 5-6 to break a siege tower.
So what if an expensive unit is push siege tower? Destroying it kills at least half of those units, does it worth it?
@@aryanwitheredone A crumbling siege tower actually only kills about 10-15 guys. It doesnt actually kill a lot. Unless its a bit different with a piece immediately crumbling vs crumbling from burn. But with those shots you could easily wipe out 2-3 units or make them borderline useless.
Can somebody Tell me what left and right shift do?
As far as I remember, unless you've set a keybind for it I don't think shift key does anything.

If you hold shift it allows you to select multiple consecutive unit cards.

not a waste to target towers or ladders
In multiplayer, it is. Takes too many shots to destroy a siege tower. Ladders, maybe. But even then it still takes 4-5 shots. Arty only has 8-10 rounds. No one's really bringing ladders in multiplayer either.
@@Bubinniis this game, the emperor edition is still able to play multiplayer and if so how does it work?
@@Koand-jk2gw Quite simple. There should be tabs for battles where you can choose historical, custom, or multiplayer battles. You pick multiplayer and there should be lobbies up.
