    So jl audio really just combined REW with dsp. I dig it. Having to switch between dsp menu and rew menus is annoying

    This is going to take things to the next level. Just to have automations for TuN is going to simplify installation in the install bay. Thus by saving time to get to the next vehicle. Super stoked and so glad to Support JL Audio since 1992 for me.

    Hi JL Audio! Long time user of your products first time C7/Vxi buyer. With the Max have you all provided your local JL Audio resellers and licensed installers here in Florida with the equipment necessary to provide a Tuning service with the Max? Once I get my C7 setup finished I'm looking for a local audio shop to tune my C7/Vxi system with your max equipment to really fine tune everything. Or could I drive down to Miramar and have you all do it professionally for me when my setup is complete? Thank you JL Audio for a great product.

    Alrighty @JLAudio what USB Microsoft would you recommend for a DIYer like my self using TuN 4.0 and a Laptop with Windows 10, I know that there is a Rysen 5700 CPU in it and 8GB of RAM I got plenty of storage in it other then the low 8GB of RAM. I did a C7 system in my 2019 Ford Flex and even Though it's only been about 5 months since I've had the system installed using HD amps and 2 TWK88s I would like to Declutter my car a bit and throw in 2 VXi amps to cover those 4 HD amps job. I would most likely do the whole Rebuild on my channel and took some feedback from my subscribers about getting an RTA, I feel the TuN 4.0 and a USB mic is more than good enough for me since I don't run a shop and I'm simply doing this as a Hobby. Any feedback from you guys would be appreciated. On my PC I have 1 USB Type C thunderbolt 4 port with backwards compatibility and a USB 3.2 USB port.

    I dont see installers buying this for there own toolboxes, but I recommend dealers invest in this as it can add a revenue stream you do not now have. It will also show what shops are decated to perfection.
    As for none JL audio dealers looking for this will it be offered to anyone to buy.
    I can see someone who compeats spending the money on one.
    Or lets say the home audio installer and or audiophile.
    How can this be used on a home Av system that has its own mic and setup built into the AVR like my advantage 3040.

    I can see tuning a system with this is time intensive your going to have to charge labor with this time in mind if it takes an hour the 1 hour shop time, this is clearly a reason to bill the customer for this time, becuse its taking away bay time you could be charging to do somthing else, this tools not cheap im going to bet its 1500 to 2k dollars or even more, the customer just spent that much or more to get to the point to even use this on his system, he's looking for perfection in sound qulity, dont give it away. Shop time 150.00 dollars and thats cheap go to the dealer for auto repairs you spend a lot more depending what brand car it is. Most shops charge 160 an hour shop time or even more.

    Ok Guys, this is somthing you need to developed for home audio also, its not like you dont have your foot in that door, you do. But this is somthing av systems could benefit from, like Yahama has a selfe tune system but this could bundle with other products in home audio as well as automotive audio.
    Rockford got its start in home audio years ago then moved into car audio and never went back JL started in home audio went to car audio and broke the mold of home audio with its subwoofers
    I belive there is room in home audio for JL to expand as it is in mobile audio.
    Products like these are cutting edge
    Making a system computer based that can set up a 11.2 system or even more could go as far as doing true movie theaters and other commercial systems.
    How sensitive are the mics.

      Microphone sensitivity:
      The microphone’s sensitivity is approximately 7.6 mV/Pa.
      These microphones feed a purpose-engineered analog front end & ADC buffer, which feeds 5 individual, differential inputs of a 24 bit Delta Sigma ADC.
      The dBFS level at 1 pascal (94 dB SPL) is ~ -39.5 dBFS.

      TuN and MAX are an audio measurement system, not really a stand-alone sound processor that is installed into a system. TuN and MAX can be used to help set a wide range of parameters in home theater or stereo systems, such as subwoofer to main speaker integration.

    Too bad they wont enable a lot of these functions to work with TwK88 & D8 DSPs. Multiple functions only work with Jl Vi amps. I guess spending $500 on a JL DSP and another $1000 for JL amp isnt enough for them.

    • @JesseJames83
      @JesseJames83 Před 2 lety

      It's called "auto set EQ" but isn't as quick and easy as they want it to be. They have the capability to be a sweep-and-done solution, but I didn't see that here. Taking notes from Yamaha's YPAO, Pioneer's Auto EQ, and Alpine's Audyssy would be helpful for us tuners.

      @JesseJames83 Před 2 lety

      @@rtiid22 that was my guess too! 😁 Maybe they'll update the software for just us?
      From their site:
      "With TüN 4.0 in RTA mode and connected to an MVi or VXi system, you can use the “Autoset EQ” function. As the name implies, you simply click a button in the EQ panel and the software adjusts the parametric EQ automatically to fit your selected target curve. It is amazingly accurate, performing thousands of calculations to arrive at the best combinations of center frequency, “Q” and gain for all ten PEQ bands (or any number from 1-10 you wish to assign), and it does so in mere seconds, saving huge chunks of time and effort in the tuning process."

    • @msmith954
      @msmith954 Před 2 lety

      @@JesseJames83 , TüN and MAX are primarily an audio measurement platform. The Auto EQ and Delay setting functionalities built into the software interface with our car and marine DSP amplifiers, But, TuN and MAX are not intended to be permanently installed into an audio system and are not sound processors, such as what you would find in an AV Receiver that has some of the technologies you mentioned. Since we don't make receivers or pre/pros, we're not in that particular business at this time. You can use TuN and MAX to measure the before and after of those processes, however, and these measurement could guide you to make further adjustments in the receiver's menus. TuN and MAX are very useful for integrating subwoofers as well. The ability to see phase in real time, along with high resolution RTA is a big help in that process.

    • @JesseJames83
      @JesseJames83 Před 2 lety

      @@msmith954 that was wordy. I'm not sure I understood what you meant to say? I realize the Max is a tuning hardware kit that uses Tun 4, and is not a permanent fixture. I fully understand both the home and car versions of the tools I mentioned above.

    This is cool software, but expensive, and still requires a decent amount of tuning knowledge to use it. For under $1k, a miniDSP 8X12 with Dirac Live is also very sophisticated, but also much easier to use, and it tunes beautifully, and I can use any amps I want with it.
