I had a scheduled induction due to a small window of my husband being home in the military and it went great! Was 24 hrs on the dot from the start of us getting there to when he came out. When we arrived I also had a male nurse/dr and he was AMAZING. He made my experience truly the best and it was not uncomfortable at all like I figured it would be. He helped me so much with everything, even with the first time to the bathroom, all the things and I am forever grateful for him!

I was induced at 39 weeks with my first and it did end with an emergency c section. It was also my biggest fear, but I just came to say that it was honestly not a big deal at all, for me at least. I got to see her right away, I got to hold her the whole time that I was being stitched back together. Recovery was fine, too. Ice and walking helped the most!
I do recommend looking into things regarding a c section, just in case. I wish I would've requested a clear sheet. I did with my 2nd (planned c section), and it was so cool to see him come out!

Hi Katie and family! Long time watcher here and I absolutely love and respect your decision to not share your due date. I think it shows personal growth and that you are setting boundaries for your safety and well-being. As a viewer, I think you have grown up with grace and positivity. Yes you've been really open in the past but now you're growing and learning more about yourself and what you want as a family. Being a young mom with 3 almost 4 kids and a dog, I'm 28 and I don't know how you do it! I hope you continue to shine and glow and radiate positivity and do what you love when you want to do it and not when us viewers want you to do it. It's not our life it's yours and you know you best ❤️❤️

I couldn’t agree more with y’all limiting what you put on the vlogs. Definitely take your time with soaking everything in and doing what you’re comfortable with! As for induction with my first baby, it was great up until she was so big she ripped me at a 3rd degree. I had to be induced due to health reasons though. I did have a male OB and he was great up until the birth. My experience wasn’t the best but my experience isn’t everyone’s either. The male OB you’re seeing could be absolutely phenomenal. I’m currently 16 weeks with another baby girl and seeing a female OB this time and absolutely love her and her care. If I have to be induced, the confidence I have with her is a big stress off my shoulders. If you don’t feel confident with your doctor you definitely should switch. Best of luck with your pregnancy journey Katie! I’m just a few weeks behind you! ❤️

It is nice to be prepared especially when you have other kids. I had a girl doctor with my first two and a guy doctor with my last. I was a little worried at first too but I honestly think I liked him better than my girl doctor. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy ❤

My friends daughter was permanently brain damaged by the 'vacuum' suction the doctor used to pull her out. She settled a multi-million dollar lawsuit and lifetime medical care and support. I had 2 different OBGYNs for both of my baby’s and they were both male. They were both so amazing, so kind and respectful and knowledgeable. They never made me feel like they were trying to mansplain to me and they made me feel uncomfortable. So that’s my experience! ❤ do what makes you most comfortable! Also as someone who had an emergency c section with my first, they did a really good job at making it not scary and making it a positive experience! Only one other person I know who was induced ended up needing a C-section. Everyone one else I have met has had vaginal births!

Hi Katie, I have a 2 year old boy and he was born a week early by induction. I was nervous about that process because I like you, had only heard negative experiences about them. I had a male doctor start my induction by putting gel on my cervix to help soften and dilate it. My boy experienced the same thing as Addy with having his heartrate keep dropping. However, they think that was because each contraction was clamping on his cord somehow because that was the only time that it would happen. My doctor said that I needed to push him out or we were going to have to have a csection, but I was determined not to do that, so I pushed with all my might and he came out. I had a quick labour and it took me 3 pushes to get him out. I agree that it was the perfect scenario to have a date and time to be going into the hospital as it reduces the amount of nervousness and stress involved with the experience. I think if I was having another baby that I would have another induction if it was safe to do so.

i have had a male obgyn since i started seeing one, and he is absolutely amazing! i very very much enjoy him. he was there through both of my girls & my miscarriage between them. plus when i was induced, i preferred all of the male obgyn vs the females! they were more gentle doing things (checking me, doing certain things with my induction, more caring, etc). i would give him a chance and let your opinion form on having a male vs female.
my obgyn has also done both of my csections!
also when i was checked or them doing anything at all around that area by my obgyn or any of them in the hospital, there is always a female nurse in there!

I had a male doctor for my three children and he was great! I had an induction for the first 2 because my water broke early and contractions didn't start. My third was "natural" and I enjoyed being able to move around more easily. But everyone's body and experiences are individual. I do think that if it's possible to allow your body to go into labor naturally- hormonally and physically it is more ready. I can understand why you are torn between waiting for things to happen when they happen, or being able to plan the timing so you can be prepared and have child care all set up. Can you plan an induction date that isn't too far ahead of your natural due date and be as prepared as possible if baby comes earlier than expected? (Have stuff for the girls already packed and ready to go just like you get your hospital bag ready well ahead, just in case?)

I had a male doctor deliver 3 of my kids so male doctors are just as good as female doctors. And as far as you homeschooling the kids shouldn’t you put them into public school so they can make friends. If you homeschool them every year they will be stuck at home and not making friends which might be something you regret down the road that you didn’t send the kids to school. And as they get older they might decide they want to go to school.

Katie, I had the same male Dr. with all 4 of my kids. He delivered mine and all 5 of my sisters. I went to see my Dr.…. I was only 16 weeks along and I saw another Dr. that particular appointment… anyway, I was told my Dr. that I originally had (and who delivered all my other babies and my sisters 5) was retiring! I about lost it. I actually kinda felt betrayed. It’s not like I was his only patient but that’s how I felt. Literally 6 days later my water broke. I was only 17 weeks along. I was flown to Seattle (about 45 minutes south of me) to a level 4 NICU. Do you know that the very next morning my Dr. … the one who was retiring showed up at the Seattle hospital! He explained why he had to retire so abruptly (he had heart problems that forced him) and just sat there and held my hand. I was so scared and didn’t know my or my babies future. He talked to my doctors and then came back and explained to me what it all meant. It meant so much to me. I was able to stay pregnant until 23 weeks and 5 days when my daughter was born. He even came to see me after she was born and after my daughter was able to be held he made another trip to Seattle so I could get my picture with him holding another one of my precious babies so I had all 4 pictures even though he didn’t deliver her. The reason I told you this story is because men doctors can be sensitive if not more sensitive. It meant so much to me and I will be forever grateful. My daughter will be 15 in May and I remember it like yesterday.

There are multiple different things that you can put on your grass to help absorb urine and protect your lawn.

Find a classical conversations group near you!!! It’s amazing. It’s once a week. They cover every school subject minus reading. I’m doing it with my 6 & 4 year old.

I had a scheduled induction and my stubborn baby decided to come on her own. My water broke the day of the induction so maybe you’ll get lucky?

I have had all men deliver my three girls and I saw one male OB and he was decent. I’ve always been induced. But with my last I was only 38 weeks 6 days. Already dilated to a 5cm. I’ve always wanted to go into spontaneous labor 😅I am such a planner and having lots of kids! I have always had a good induction with my three pregnancies. I’m SO scared of a c section and especially emergency.

10/10 recommend a male OB if you’re comfortable with trying it. I had 2 male OBs for both of my deliveries and pregnancies and loved the experience. I felt like because they weren’t so callused about “woman pregnancy pain” they were faster to sympathize and listen as they don’t “really” know. They were both much more gentle than the few visits with a girl were. I never felt uncomfortable and neither did my husband.

I had to go to Labor and delivery triage with my daughter to monitor her because of low fluid the doctor I saw then was male and then when I went to have my daughter a few weeks later I had to have a c-section the doctor was a male then as well. My primary doctor was female but it just didn’t work out for her to be there those days. I have to say the male doctors were GREAT and so respectful ! My experiences were amazing and my recovery from my c-section was so easy ( I know is not always the case but was for me)

I got fake grass to put down in the corner of my yard and put a small white fence around it. It stayed green and you just have to keep up with picking up the poop and watering down the pee.

I had a male dr for my first and I had a male midwife who was brilliant, I had multiple dr with my second and my dr was on long service and wouldn't be back before I was due but on the day I had him I had who ever was on call which turned out to be a really good female gynaecologist

I didn’t necessarily have an induction but my water broke and I didn’t progress anymore so they gave me Pitocin. Baby was stable most of the time throughout the labor. But that being said, when I went in he was head down face down.. then the doctor realized later on (after starting Pitocin) he flipped around to sunny side up. I’m not sure if the Pitocin is just so unnatural that it freaked him out or what. They told me to keep laboring as is and eventually I stopped progressing because he was stuck… instead of putting me for an emergency C section they had me push for four hours and while I was pushing we lost his heart rate. He was not with us for 2 minutes.. it was the scariest moment of my life! Now all that being said I don’t know how much of that was Pitocin.. natural occurrence.. and or doctors error but because of that series of events and having to have reconstructive surgery because of it I have to have C sections for my future babies. But if I was to be able to have another one “naturally” I would not get Pitocin again personally. That being said my labor was very not the normal and you’ve had three healthy and safe deliveries so you more than likely will be fine! I’m also not saying this to scare you but just to tell you my experience. Whatever decision you make is completely up to you and is what’s best for you and your family.

My opinions on male dr. I had a male dr with both of my pregnancies. He was great but I will say if he is good at what he does don't freak out bc he is a male. Honestly us as pregnant mothers have a closer relationship with the Dr's nurses than the actual dr in my opinion. And also I was Induced with my second and every experience is different. If an induction works best for your family I can almost promise you this one will not be like addie's delivery. This whole pregnancy is different than yours with addie. I wouldn't stress too much about it and just see what will work best for your family. I know you are a planner so for your mental health an induction might help you be more at ease near the end.

I used a male doctor for my two girls and couldn’t see myself using anyone else! I used to not want to use a male at all, but I can’t imagine! I also got induced with both of them and they were pretty good experiences. The process was pretty slow, but both girls were perfect the whole time and labor and delivery went smoothly!
