My husband had the same surgery. She's not joking about that recovery time. And I don't think his shoulder has ever been the same since. It's rough.
You should turn Survivor nights into potlucks! Especially with babe on the way. So much easier than coming up with a whole meal every week 🥴
Prayers for Ben and the family
Ben needs rest!
Katie is the best mom and can hold the fort down.
Praying for fast healing
Prayers for you Ben on your upcoming surgery. I had shoulder surgery and I could not sleep in my bed I had to be propped up on my couch. Yes it takes a while to recover and Ben listen to your doctor and don’t over do it.
Ive worked in Physical Therapy for some 20 years... it is a big surgery but your age and physical fitness is going to play well in your favor. There is a great chance that you will have an easier time because of it. Good that Katie's dad is a PT also so he can keep check on you and give you guidance along the way to make sure everything is doing well and on track. You got this!
Hi guys all the best for your surgery Ben, I'm sure you will have a super power recovery 🙏🤞👍So pleased your blood work turned out ok Katie, hopefully your itching will go as quickly as it came 👍🤞🙏 We didn't see the eclipse in the UK it passed without notice. Love and blessings to you and your beautiful family 🥰🤗💓✝️xxx
You Got this Ben..! Wishing you WELL!!
Good luck Ben . I keep u in my prayers. I hope the surgery works . U and Katie are my favorites ❤
I truly hope the best for you guys and Ben's surgery and recovery 🙏
praying for you guys. i know it’s not good timing at all. you guys got this ❤️
Good luck on Surgery Ben!! You will rock PT!!
I dislocated my shoulder in high school. Should’ve gotten surgery and didn’t. I regret that. I’m 30 now and still have pain, weakness and instability. I’ve had 2 additional full dislocations and very frequent partial dislocations. I promise you, the surgery is the best option.
I’m having surgery at the end of the month, and my mom is having surgery at the end of next month. I’m having what’s called a VNS implant removed, and my mom is having a knee replacement. So I can understand the, anxiety, yet excitement about it. Plus, I go to physical therapy for my back, and as much as I wish I could have a different therapist, it is making a difference. Stay awesome. ❤
You should treat it more like pot luck, everyone brings a covered dish, easier for you all that way, bless all
I am living in Arkansas, and we were in the direct path of the eclipse. It seriously was awesome. We watched as the moon slowly blocked out the sun until it was totally covered. It was such a fun experience.
sending good vibes your way as you deal with this issue with Ben's shoulder i know back in 07 my husband tore his rotator cuff and we thought he was going to need surgery but turns out he didn't so I feel for you and sending love your way as you prep for surgery and recover.
My husband dislocated his shoulder playing lacrosse and finally decided to have this exact surgery after he dislocated it sneezing….on two separate occasions. So the instability thing is very real
You could do sheet-pan fajitas for a large group. My local grocery store sells bags of frozen mixed bell peppers and I add fresh red onionsand garlic, frozen corn, black beans and either sliced chicken or sliced steak and season it with taco seasoning and a little olive oil. Just toss it all together and spread it on a sheet pan or baking dish and pop it in the oven until the meat is all cooked. Scoop it into a tortilla with some cheese, sour cream and hot sauce and you're done. (It's also good over rice)
My husband just had his shoulder separation surgery and they were going to open him up but then last minute needed to. Even with that he’s been in week 2 and is feeling great. He’s been moving it even though they said not too but he feels almost back to normal. He still has 6 weeks of physical therapy. Hopefully you feel good right after!
I had a labrum tear surgery then fell 3 weeks later and tore my rotator cuff. So I had two back to back surgeries. 12 weeks apart. It was at least 9-18 months til I was fully recovered with pain free days. You’ll do great. You have age on your side. Do the surgery so you don’t have to live in pain.
I am praying for yall 🙏
Love and prayers to Ben as well as you Katie. We didn't get the eclipse here in Florida either. Love your volgs and enjoy watching your family grow.
Ben I wish you a good surgery& recovery
Praying for y’all
My husband had tore his labrium had bone spurs and his bicep was detached the surgery was quick and simple but his recovery was very painful and long. Your young so you should recover nicely just make sure you do all the work and exercises after it may seem hard at first but don’t skip out on it it’s important. He claims his has never been the same either and now because of it he has terrible arthritis in his shoulder so he always has lingering pain. And yes my husbands range of motion is still limited in some ways but not to the point where he can’t function in every day to day life and we do have 4 kids ages 2-9
I’m going to have my second shoulder surgery in July. I have multiple directional instability. It doesn’t stay in socket. I also found out I have arthritis in my left shoulder. The recovery was hard and painful but i can handle it. I’m a pro at having surgeries. Prayers your surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery.
I'm sorry you have to have surgery I'm praying for a speedy recovery
Hi Ben, sorry that you have to go through surgery... but hope it will soon recover after the OP 👍
I feel for you Ben 😭I had fractured ribs last year and they took a hell of a long time to heal and then I only had them healed for a few months before I've now injured them again...😥 I hope we both experience a speedy recovery ❤🩹You'll get through this man, I will too it'll be ok 👌it will just take time to heal
I broke my ribs a few years back. It's so miserable! I hope you heal quickly.
Potluck survivor nights! Pick a theme like mexican food for example and have everyone bring a dish!
Apollo smart using your sling at night! Basically as a reminder. I wish I had the surgery after a fall as a ski instructor years ago.....I'm paying for it now
I live in Indiana and we were in the totality of the eclipse. It was so awesome! It looked completely dark out in the middle of the day.
Our son had a very similar injury and surgery right in the middle of COVID shutdowns. They were able to get him scheduled for surgery within a couple weeks. He moved back home with us for the six months of recovery. We rented an electric hospital bed for him for the first three months which helped a lot. Trying to find a comfortable position for resting was difficult and moving from lying down to sitting up was painful at first. Having a bed that did some of the work for him was helpful. It’s been about three years now and he has full use of his shoulder without pain. He enjoys fly fishing and golfing without any issues. Finding the right balance of enough PT without over doing it can be hard at first. Follow your doctor’s advice and you should be able to return to normal.
We had a total eclipse here in Canada Ontario where i live! It was pretty cool.
We ended up finding our glasses at dominoes lol
In Columbus, we were on totality and it was crazy. It got pretty dark out!
Ben make sure you rent an ice machine, made especially for shoulder or knee recovery. Apparently it keeps the ice, ice longer..
Also if you don’t get surgery you could get nerve damage and that would not be fun ❤
I'll Be Praying 🛐 For You Ben, Just Please ❤️ Don't Make The Same Mistake I Made!! Listen To Your Doctor & Physical Therapist Don't Try To Do More Than Your Told To!! I didn't listen & ended up right back into A Bigger Surgery, just because I thought I could handle more than what I was told!! May GOD 🙌 & JESUS CHRIST 🙌 Bless Y'all Highly & Richly In Everything You Do!! I'm Praying 🛐 For All These Things In JESUS CHRIST 🙌 Mighty Name Amen ❤!!
I was 57 years when I dislocated my shoulder it caused my shoulder bone was sticking up it was able to be popped back in I saw a specialist he said that I was to old for having surgery so he made me wait six weeks with this bone really sticking up .when I went back for my six weeks check up with the specialist he then as did I like my bone sticking up? I told him know so I finally got surgery I can use it again but I still have bone sticking up not as much as when I dislocated it. I hope Ben you don’t have a bone sticking up from your shoulder.good luck with your surgery 😊
I live in Ohio and we didn't have totality either but I enjoyed watching eclipse.
I wore my polarized sunglasses 😎 without any problem. The guys that work for us used their welding helmets.
I had shoulder surgery in 2021 and now i have the same tear again.
We seen the whole eclipse it was cool it was dark for a few minutes ... Lorain , Ohio near Lake Erie
You could make tacos for survivor night with chips, salsa, and queso. Maybe quesadillas for the kids. You have all the ingredients and everyone builds their own tacos.
I fell and dislocated my shoulder had a rash guard bathing suit top on by the time I made it home went to drs 2 days later and they did x-rays and were like it's back in for now. It constantly pops out but most dr look at me like I just want pain meds because I'm not screaming in pain.(Have a super high pain tolerance)
I suggest u get an MRI done asap
Yes, that unfortunately takes a long time to fully heal (I’m an ortho nurse)! I would recommend to do it sooner rather than later bc it will ruin your daily living and only get worse! Especially with a newborn coming…😬 If you do it before the baby comes I think you will feel less “guilty” for not being able to help with the baby as I know you are a very hands on dad!
I eat those same sweet tarts. They are the best. I match my up w skittles. #sweetandsour
Next eclipse the kids will be in their 20(s) so they will understand about wearing glasses. The next one will happen in 2044. You are so precious. You make me laugh.
You could do Tacos for survivor night!
Shoulder surgery is rough. Recovery is slow. I highly recommend an ice machine for recovery....ice will be your best friend.
When is baby due?
Potluck!
I find sometimes having sling makes others away. If I have to use my crutches people in public are more respectful n remind me when I’m feeling ok not to over do it. Btw u could ask physio any alternative ways of doing things in gym that will help or ask personal trainer who specialises in rehab to give u some ideas. Will ur arm be better by time baby here? Xx
❤😊
I like how some people take hand sanitizer and keep hand sanitizing their hands like every five minutes and they still get sick seriously the best thing you can do is keep your immune system up get your vitamins and stuff taken daily
He had similar. I’ve torn my rotator 3 times I havw nerve issues. I am not able to use range of motion. Diabetes and itp blood disorder. Please don’t over do it.
I wish lots of luck. Hope you get better soon. ❤❤❤❤❤ I am unable to turn the wheel as well. Frozen shoulder is a part of my life. I understand I’m so glad you keep trying. Sauna will help. I’m praying.
❤️🙏😊⭐👍🌞😎
Fajitas, tacos, lasagna shepherds pie
Choo choo wheels
Do a taco bar next time
You could try to learn how to do push-ups with one arm because people do that😂❤
My sister in law scared me and said the solar eclipse can give the baby deformities even when further along in the pregnancy 😭 so I didn’t get to be out and about. They say pregnant woman should stay inside that entire day. Yuh know myths and stuff 😂
& the next solar eclipse is in 2044 so your kiddos will definitely be old enough lol. Early 20’s!!
