I traveled a lot and children needs stability. It will affect them as they get older. They need to experience day-to-day living and have a place to feel like home. They need to establish strong friendships and the older they get the more difficult it’s going to be for them so whatever you decide, think about being in this place for another 10 years or more some people live in homes their entire life and leave it to the kids if they want it but they have memories. It’s harder for the kids to make new friends if they’re being moved around a lot and have a negative impact.

Please think very carefully about moving, make certain you are willing to move away from family etc and what you have. The last thing you want is to go through moving only to find out in 6, 9 or 12 months or so that it's really not as great as you remember and want to move back again. Also don't move for friends, friends will come and go, family is forever. you can always catch up with friends. love you guys

My husband and I were in that area a few years ago, the landscapes and ocean are gorgeous, Hearst Castle is amazing, loved Cambria! Speaking about moving, I just want to say that as a child growing up, I would have loved living in one house, being in the same school district for all my school years, having the same friends and neighbors, plus having grandparents, cousins, etc. nearby. My mom was divorced, and we moved around a lot, which was not happy. Once children start school, they do so well with stability and routines for meals, homework, bath time and bedtime. Travel and vacations can happen during holidays or their summer break. Wherever you live, I hope your kids will get the best education possible-it’s so important in life!

Sandra, I completely understand and agree with what you are saying. My mamma raised my brother and I by herself with no child support. We moved A LOT !! I went to 16 different schools and it was extremely hard being the new kid all the time... How I wished I had the stability in my childhood, the friendships, same schools, family.... It would have been nice to have the stability. I think my life would have been a lot better.🙏❤️🙏

I was a child that got moved around a LOT! I am now in my 50’s…and can tell you, without a doubt, (after keeping my own children in one place) that being in a house before the kids start school and staying there until they graduate- is one of the best things that you can do for them. They need that stability and, especially in this world of short attention span, they need friends that they will hopefully be lifelong. I hope that if you do it, you do it before Jack starts school, whether it be preschool, pre-k or kindergarten (whichever you decide will be his first year)

I would seriously think long and hard about selling your house especially in this economy. Everything is costing double what it used to and then to move to Hawaii one of the most expensive places in the United States. Just remember your home provides stability for your children and the fact that they are growing up around there grandparents only furthers that and the help once they start school will be invaluable.

You can’t debate that from a financial standpoint in this economy that it makes zero sense to move back to Hawaii. They talked about all the reasons why they were building a house in Utah. Plus they have a house vs. they were living in an apt and all they talked about was how little space they had and they kept having things stolen i.e surfboards, their truck and if I’m not mistaken an electric bike. I love the videos and I’m a big fan but this just seems rather impulsive. You state all the reasons why your moving away from Hawaii which are all still valid, you buy a house and move, and if I’m not mistaken I don’t think they’ve even been in the house a year even.

That way you can make money off of it and go stay in it whenever you'd like and it wouldn't be like a full-time rental house to someone or a family. Derik and Sarah - you two are adorable and I love following the Beeston families!! Im 55 and living vicariously through you all.
I know my comment might be controversial but I’m here to speak for the people of Hawaii.
I recommend, with love, to Please stay on the mainland until Hawaii heals and bounces back from the massive losses for the natives, as well as the insane amount of crime, especially on Oahu where you will live. I’m married to a Haole - I have NOTHING against Haole’s at all - but local Hawaiians do and they are asking for time for their people to find their way back to their culture and sovereignty
They need time to heal their islands, their oceans, their people.
Respectfully, your children need stability and a solid education system and even health care system.
I also think it’s important to recognize that making choices while in flight or fight is understandable when you’re not parents and you just need change - but I think you guys should consider how the stability of your own childhoods created trust in your parents and your surroundings. I truly believe that if you respect the Hawaiian people and their culture, then when the time is right, you will be re-welcomed with open arms. 🌺
Either way, it’s obviously not our decision, it’s yours! But as a mama bear, I care about your babies and I hope either way you all remain safe and healthy.
    With love, mahalo, xoxo

While I believe it’s important to choose joy and protect our families, I also think it’s time we all need to begin thinking about others - how our actions affect the many, their cultures and heritage etc. and also, how the need for more reflect on our children and the pressure for them to continue the patterning.
The Beestons have been so blessed with their homes, cars, ability to travel wherever and whenever they want - sometimes it’s ok to pause and sit on our blessings, rather than continue to pile on more and unintentionally take from others who may need to raise their own children and find their own home in the THEIR community - in the middle of a housing crisis, or cultural trauma.
Our next generation’s are watching - these people have a strong platform to create awareness for the Hawaiian people, and also how the patterning of taking over these native lands has affected the health of the land, the people, etc etc.

Okay, but Hawaii is part of the UNITED states, right? People in the United States are free to move, travel and live wherever they would like to without feeling unwelcomed and without being abused by the locals. I rather resent the fact that Hawaiins want their sovereignty while taking advantage of the things afforded them by being a part of the 50 states.

      @NettyG444 Před 4 měsíci

@@michele6873 and what exactly do Hawaiians take advantage of as being part of the US, please explain? What has the US given Hawaii? What has the government done for the people of Lahaina? They have given more to Ukraine than our own people - but you tell me, what Hawaiian “take advantage of”?!?
Do you know the history of Hawaii and that it was actually illegally “added” to the US by Dole and other plantation owners who illegally took over the Islands to begin with, stealing their sovereignty when they did NOT want to be annexed to begin with? A simple google search might help to learn some of the history so that you can make educated comments moving forward.
And of course people are free to do what they want, just don’t get angry when things get stolen from you (bc of massive poverty), your kids are undereducated, the medical system isn’t the best, you have to drive an hour to the nearest hospital or Costco, the cost of living when they (we) are the reason the cost has increased etc.
And then ask WHY are the islands suffering like this? Sheesh. Wake up - you are clearly naive and part of the problem.

I've lived on Oahu for 40 years, I'm the only one in my family still here, I am leaving by end of the year. I have 3 grandsons under the age of 5, my son and daughter-in-law have no desire to raise their boys here and I agree. Time to think about your children. The cost of living here is out of control, education (unless you can afford Punahou) is below standard. Use the money you save living on the mainland for your kiddo’s college expenses. The crime rate has skyrocketed in the last 7 years. I have a friend that is a HPD officer, he shared with me there are murders every night, it's obviously not in the news because we are a tourist destination. When I leave I will dearly miss my long time friends, the Hawaiian culture and the beauty of the island however I would never want my grand babies growing up here in this time. I must say, the criminals here are not Native Hawaiians.

Murders are happening every night, EVERY NIGHT, in Hawaii and by non-native Hawaiians. Think about the items stolen from you in broad daylight, your TRUCK was stolen! It sounds like the islands are suffering with drug users...and that's a shame because it brings a sorry, thug life culture everywhere it goes. Please, sit tight for a while and let your children experience stability. Get a calender, and plan out a little family getaway every month that is within driving distance of your home. There are places in Colorado and Utah where you can go and walk in dinosaur footprints! Take the kids, explore the four corners and learn to function as a family.

Cloud iridescence or irisation is a colorful optical phenomenon that occurs in a cloud and appears in the general proximity of the Sun or Moon. The colors resemble those seen in soap bubbles and oil on a water surface. It is a type of photometeor. This fairly common phenomenon is most often observed in altocumulus, cirrocumulus, lenticular, and cirrus clouds. They sometimes appear as bands parallel to the edge of the clouds. Iridescence is also seen in the much rarer polar stratospheric clouds, also called nacreous clouds.

Love watching your family adventures, it was so good for you both to getaway for a little long weekend together with no children, I think every parent needs that if it’s available to them to have family or friends to watch your children, it’s good to connect with just one another, I’m all for that…I don’t know what HOA means when you mentioned that because I don’t live in the USA, if someone can explain it to me, I’d be very grateful, I love learning about how things work in other countries. That place you stayed looked Awesome and so well designed and decorated with beautiful decor. Take Care both of You and your little family. 💙💙🩷🩷

Home Owners Association...They generally have lots of do's and don't's for your house and property such as landscaping, colors of the houses, roofs, how many visitors/guests you're allowed to have, etc. I'm so glad we don't have that in our neighborhood 😉🤪

I think all the beestons should go back to Hawaii. I thought leaving was a bad idea. U guys were the best versions of yourselves there. I think alot of people can see that. But if you do go back. Make sure its for a long long time. Just my opinion tho! I think you all are good people that will make the right call for your family.
