  • Before performing the 1UZ swap on his Lexus IS300, Freddy collects baseline performance data (1/4 mile draggy, dyno, corner weight and balance and MPGs) to quantify the performance benefit of the 1UZ. Freddys 2JZ is essentially "full bolt ont": intake, headers, catback, light weight flywheel, driveshaft and crank pulley, SIKKY thermalnator intake gasket.

    I owned a IS 250 once. What a gem of a engine!

    Honestly this is so crazy. I can’t wait to see it fully functional man. I want to see the gains and the looks🙌🙌

    Great info. Glad to see a recent mostly stock dyno of a 2jzge showing that it's in the 190hp range. I'm sure a full stock is300 would be in the 170-180hp number. I'm at 325hp with 8-9psi on my NA-T setup.

      @@PoorManMods it's funny because some people think their bone stock is300 makes the rated 210hp at the wheels...I have to explain that they probably have like 175hp...

      Yeah that's still not bad for what this car. 215 at base you're not losing that much HP at the wheels.

      Ac definitely takes horsepower and gas mileage anyone who says different you shouldn't take any important advice from them

    Great video, with the 1uz install if you can please go over the driver side exhaust manifold, connecting the ac and power steering lines as well as connecting the fuel system. I'm getting ready for my 1uz swap as well and your insight on these areas will be much appreciated!

      @PoorManMods  Před 2 lety +1

      I will certainly go over that. However I ditched the OEM manifolds for OBX headers!

    IMO a 2gr would've made a lot of sense for balance and power. 2 less cylinders off the end, 300hp, more modern. The only down side is nobody has done it. Frankenstein motor works is breaking into the 400hp NA with the transverse 2gr.

      Meh, I would not have been happy with a V6 swap

    Interested to watch this. I am thinking of selling my ISF soon and look for a mint is300. They are so hard to find here in Australia. I actually would turbo the 2J.
    Hope yours works out well. 👍🙏

    My guess with the stock 1uz on dynapack should net around 240ish whp.

      in my ISF, youre correct, but im pretty sure in this car it stays engaged, whether thats intentional or some kind of electronic issue im not sure.

      @@PoorManMods thats interesting. I've read that the AC clutch disengages approximately over 80% to prevent damage to the compressor. This was on a Honda and Mitsubishi so who knows, maybe Toyota does something different.

    Idk people say this car is slow and sure it's no racer but it's still a 20 year old car. Compared to today's standards it's slow (even though most average cars I see are not even close to 200hp or over 200 ft lb or torque but I digress). I mean this car came out in 2001 and was in the NA supra no vvti yet never hear anyone call that car slow btw. But ehh is that considered slow for the time it came out which 2001 or 90s? Idk Y'all can tell me but it's kind of dumb to compare a 20 year old car compared to today standards when we have better technology and more efficient and cheaper ways to make more power where the standard of fast and slow is different from 20 years ago. I'm still pretty surprised by the 191 that ain't bad then it's got an almost perfect balanced weight distribution. Wonder how much that would change with a turbo and bigger tires in the back hopefully not much.
