    For $275, in my honest opinion since I’ll probably never see it where I live, I’ll just mix a splash of Appleton Estate 12yr with some Rare Breed, close my eyes, and imagine I’m on a beach where an actual bottle of Voyage floated up on an island shore right between my sandy feet 🤙 would love to try this, but ya know…control state(s).

    5 to 6 weeks seems like a short amount of time. Must have been a wet barrel to get that much influence. Glad you love it. I can't justify that much for a bottle so I'm just happy there's a platform like this to try it vicariously.

      Yeah agree completely one of the most blatant ripoffs in a while 10 yr bourbon and then only a 5 to 6 week finish is crazy. Hell Sagamore finishes their rye for sometimes years in secondary barrels and costs usually 80 or less

    Curious how Wild Turkey gets away with $275 on a 10-year finished bourbon, but people gripe about the price of almost all other bourbons. Russells SiB's are 10-year 110 proof bourbons (ok 9, but usually somewhere between 9 and 10) and those are $80-$90. This is a 10-year, 106 proof bourbon with a finish on it and this comes in at $275, which implies that the barrel finish alone is worth basically $200/bottle? There's even other distilleries (fourgate, bardstown) that have rum finishes that sell for cheaper and they have to pay the price of sourced whiskey. It just feels like every distillery gets heat for their prices going up but somehow Wild Turkey gets away with it and I'm interested to know your thoughts.

    • @jeremymcbride

      @isaiahstreed5285 Před rokem

      @@dronepocket325 I guess that’s my point though. They are sourcing and somehow they can offer a cheaper product while also having to pay a premium just to obtain the whiskey. It’s cheaper to produce your own than to source, and these distilleries that are sourcing are still able to offer a comparable product for cheaper.
