I want to point out that there's an interesting interaction between Xolaani, Aspect's Bane, and Kayle, that goes kinda like this:
K: "Release my mother!"
X: "We are your mother"
It kinda implies that Aspect's Bane not only absorbed the other Darkin... but may have absorbed Mihira too, and that's why it has that shape.
I can't believe they actually hit Kayle with a "Your mom". 💀
It's not really that interesting because It literally says "Aspect's Bane"
and that is why she also kinda has a similar effect like Mihira

I really like how LOR gives us so much good lore, but a lot of it feels like a what-if. I would like Riot to actually care more about the lore, instead of decreasing even more the amount of stories, and just depend on this game to bring us lore.

Kayle’s interactions with Xolaani, Aspect’s Bane straight up confirm that to reach that form Xolaani took over Mihira’s body.
I really wish Mihira would’ve referenced Morgana somehow. I know this is more focused on Kayle, but both of them serve a different form of Justice, so I wonder if she thinks more highly of Kayle than Morgana.
Morgana seems more of a rebel while kayle just straight-up follows the rules and I assume the image of her mother, so maybe Morgana would be treated like a problem child, the black sheep of the family
@@Nick-nb2oz it is possible, however seeing Justice in only one light wouldn’t allow for actual Justice.
Whenever Mihira dies in game she does do a small mention to Morgana by gasping in a dying breath "my daughters!"
@@dominicbosko8375 morgana and kayle being "dark" and "light" is purely aesthetic and their element of choice, in terms of how they administrate justice...I'd say Kayle is way darker, if you actually look into Morgana's personality you'll see she's the one who prefers seeing everyone happy instead of bound, kayle is more like a dictator
Mihira does talk about “solely retribution” in regard to Kayle, though that might have been powered-up Xolaani (which is somewhat irrelevant because by her own ambition she and Mihira are the same entity in that form).
It's really cool how inhuman Mihira looks. It's great that LoR gives room for some pretty wild designs. I mean, before, all Aspects we've seen were almost purely human in appearance, with the biggest "weird thing" about them being Zoe's hair. But as LoR came out, we've seen The Traveller, and now Mihira, and know for sure that being an Aspect is more than just a fancy power-up.
I was expecting angel milf but was pleasantly surprised by how she actually looks.
I think it just Mihira body unable to use to he just chose to release her new form i think since how you can use sword when look like that...

@@fatcat4642 True, not to mention, it would be weird if she didn't change AT ALL after being aspect host/the aspect of Justice for over +1000 years or something like that.
The Warrior is also quite close to what Pantheon (I mean the Celestial after taking over Atreus' body, not the boi Atreus himself ) in his physical form look like. Also even Atreus as the new Pantheon also looks way more godly than every other Aspects LoL currently have, even more than Zoe. But I'm aware that it was his helm and weapons that made him look godly, Atreus looked purely human beside the glowing eyes.
I think Kayle calling Ryze old friend is a reference to League's first cinematic, where Kayle is getting bodied by Morgana and Nasus and Ryze crosses the map to save her. Quite nostalgic watching that nowadays TBH

I thought it was about the rune stones. How when Ryze taps into the memories of the runes, she recognizes “him” through them. I dont know could be stretching here. Similar to Karma maybe.
I kind of doubt it because Ryze in another cinematic helps Nasus. So that doesn't make sense
Actually in that Xolaani card, I'm pretty sure that she is not mimicking Mihira. She actually has fused with Mihira in one of those classic LoR what-if scenarios.

@@derekfrost7751 I don't think so. As for me Kayn attacked Yi's temple and Jun took Xolaani's weapon. That's all. Next Xolaani attacked darkins im Icathia and absorbed Mihira. And here there are 2 variants:
1) Xolaani beat everyone and corrupt all the Targornian Aspects and Shuriman Ascended (Corrupted skinline).
2) Ryze with runes, Kale and Aatrox beat her.

Mihira didn't bestow her powers upon Kayle and Morgana, rather they inherited their celestial powers due to Mihira's ascension occurring while she was pregnant. Their powers awakened when Mihira sent her blade to them, but they always had them.
Mihira operated as the Aspect of Justice during the Rune Wars and fought to put an end to the Rune Wars. Either this or the fact that Ryze hides the World Runes in a vault below Demacia explains why him and Kayle are acquainted.
I do like having kayle and ryze being "friends" it just fits with the aspect of justice helping the man who is hiding the most dangerous and powerful items/magic in runterra
Plus they were alive around the same time, during the rune wars
Unless Kayle had a change of heart or Ryze hid it so well, no way Kayle will tolerate Ryze's action. His intention in the past was good but still war crimes are war crimes.
There was a quote I saw a few days ago but it was Ryze saying something about the World Runes and Kayle saying something like "Who else but you?" I think Kayle DOES tolerate Ryze's possession of the Runes, since she knows that he won't abuse that power like so many others have before.
Xolaani is such a well written villain, her initially meaning well and wanting peace with it leading to complete control, and every opposition brings out more and more of her monstrous form.
An idea good in paper but horrible in execution.

I wonder if the chain we see on Xolaani's final form is some power she got from absorbing Mihira and is the same power that gave Morgana her chains.
I love how 80% of the fanbase is so ready to fight for General Aatrox in the possible upcoming Darkin Civil War XD
Ryze was alive since before the rune wars. Kayle was a product of the rune wars. It passed some time before Kayle’s dad died and in that time Kayle was getting recognition as the protector of Demacia. They had plenty of time to connect there. They could also have connected after Kayle literally ascended to the skies.
If you haven't i recomend looking at Aatrox's interactions with the other darkin (-xolanni, kayn, and varus). They're surprisingly wholesome and you really get the sense he cares deeply for them.
Is it possible that Mihira merged with the celestial aspects of Justice, leaving no human avatar to act on Runeterra? And instead of choosing a new host like the other aspects, she gave the responsibility to her daughters. Because even though Mihira keeps her name, we've never seen a human aspect physically transform or live permanently in the celestial realm.

Ye that probably what happened, and I'm shocked why no one is talking about that, even Necrit, "lore genius", lmao.
Celestials needed human host to act in Runeterra, cause they couldn't get in there with their Celestial bodies. Diana, Leona, Zoe and others wasn't changed, they look just like humans, and never were in Celestial Realm, but for some reasons Mihira was. So yes, i think Celestial of Justice find the way to merge bodies, and have access to travel to Runterra themselve, with no human host
I can't wait for LoR Morgana to be released so we can get more interactions. I'm curious about what Mihira thinks of her.

Xolaani’s final card reveals something very interesting, something that I think is the core of her character. The card says “Soon this world will be united in peace, in love, IN SILENCE”.
The most important part is “Silence”, to me, that basically confirms that Xolaani is only controlled by the madness of the Void, she got influenced by the Void in Icathia so much, that now she’s the personification of their will, The Watchers now control her and they want her to silence Runeterra.
Nah. I'm pretty sure it just refers to how when she mind controls/absorbs everyone, they would have no reason to talk/think. Therefore, silence. Bringing Watchers into this seems too far-fetched imo.
Now I don’t know what her true goal is both of them here seem pretty good theories

Darkin are messed up by the Void. True, that's the whole point of them. But it does't mean they *serve* the Void in any capacity. There are no indication of that, they're just crazy and go for their own crazy goals.

They're certainly not servants of the void but through their extensive contact with it they seem to have adapted some of its... Desires.
And if Bel'Veth can absorb enough humans to become self aware and desire to persevere, why couldn't the Darkin do the opposite
Just wanna say that Aatrox being called the Blade of Icathia doesn't necessarily mean he's Icathian. It could mean that he FOUGHT in Icathia when they stood up against the Shuriman Empire, and being Aatrox was the blade that decimated them, earning that title. Him being Icathian-born would be a little strange since he would've had stuff to say with Jax.
Agreed, I got confused since Aatrox was a Shuriman god-warrior. Why would a god-warrior be an Icathian when they are at war with the Shuriman Empire. They went ahead and got consumed by the void thinking they can use it as a weapon to combat said shuriman god-warriors which Aatrox is.
@@iSa_Ach One of the reason Icathia rebelled against Shurima was the fact their denizens were denied Ascension for several centuries since they were conquered.
I think Aatrox being the Blade of Icathia refers to him being an Ascended known for wielding a Blade at the Battle of Icathia when the Void first attacked. I'm like 99.99% sure somewhere it mentions he was at the Battle of Icathia since he and many other Ascended followed Setaka, the Ascended Warrior Queen, to fight Icathia.
@@michaellockyer4557 He was Shurima's premiere Ascended general, in command of a legion of 10000 mortals and surrounded by many god warriors who admired his nobility and strong character. He most certainly distinguished himself further in the endless battle against the Void.

Kayle and morgana are not aspects, they just have a portion of their mother's powers. Mihira did indeed return to the celestial realm, and Kayle joined her after her battle with Morgana (in search of a presence of mind only celestials can achieve"), which is why they have such a strong connection in the LoR voicelines. Also, Kayle's lvl 1 represents her when she first obtained Mihira's sword. Her lvl 2 splash (and lvl 16 VA in game) is what she currently looks like (in 998 AN).
Morgana, however stil resides in Runeterra, although she has rejected her celestial powers and does not have much impact.
Maybe the reason why Kayle and Morgana were able to "become" the aspects of justice is because Mihira ascended while being pregnant with them - they too were part of her when she became an aspect. So while they don't have full authority or whatever they are still able to act in Mihira's name and with her power

Aatrox is not Icathian. One of the reasons Icathia rebelled against the Shuriman empire was because they refused to bestow the ascension ritual upon Icathia's candidates. Nezuk was an Ascended Ixtali mage.

This is the only video I've been waiting since the new release of cards in LoR. I knew this one is so big and full of new lore and deserves a video.

There is a very interesting theory on Blood magic on the lore reddit. Tdlr version is: The Ascention is happening because of blood magic, Ascended is not just "celestial magic" but also blood magic that shape the Ascended, so Solaari or blood magic as a whole is not "new" but the darkin simply found out a way to reuse the magic that turn their mortal body onto godlike body
This explain why Sivir blood can resurect and "Ascended" Azir, because that is blood magic.
Personally I really like Aatrox interactions with the darkin, him showing comradery and the like...
Aatrox criticizes Varus for embracing human emotions from his mortal life, but he treats his comrades with care, and like you said, they have comradery. He's a hypocrit lol.
Kayle without inheriting the complete power of the Aspect of Justice is already that strong and able to tango with the Darkin😦

I dont think that it is too out of this world for Ryze and Kayle to be friends. Ryze is very old and definitely dates back to before the rune wars. Currently he is keeping the world runes inside petricite trees somewhere near demacia, not in stone, so he was probably learned the properties of petricite pre founding of demacia (meaning before they turned it into stone, durands era) which is probably when kayle and morgana were leading demacia.
Maybe Mihira merged with the actual celestial of Justice as she grew more attuned with power kinda like Zoe did with the Twilight an how we can see Zoe's followers use similar powers to her
From what Im guessing, Xaolaani during a pivotal time in the Icathian war, fled. She abandoned her duty to heal the wounded and ran which is why Aatrox hates her.
Later from context of other cards the Void warped her sense of keep others safe from, keep them healed into a possessive if only they listened to me I could keep them safe so she became obsessed with blood magic in controlling the Darkin. Meanwhile Aatrox's sense of duty as a soldier was warped into a bloody lust for war

I love people complaining about ''what ifs'' when we have Kayn in league since way before Runeterra was released. The character himself is a what if and, should Riot push his story forward, either Rhaast or Kayn will be gone forever.

Ryze and Kayle interaction is so cool, my take on it is that they worked together once to restore balance and so they see each other are the only reliable ally, as a Kayle main I enjoy so much all this new lore !

i mean, ryze was known to keep his runes in demacian woods, so kayle knowing ryze isn't that much of surprise. i don't think ryze would ever be possible to keep one of the most dangerous magic in her homelands without knowing.

Wait, how does the Kayle-Ryze interaction bewilder you? Necrit, you're the lore guy. You know how old Ryze is. Isn't it obvious they would have met each other at some point before she left for the celestial realm? I mean, think about it for literally 2 seconds. What does Ryze do? Travel around Runeterra preventing it from being destroyed by the many forces that would do so. What do aspects do? Show up when the world is about to be destroyed. 1+1 is... I know I'm being an ass here, but this was one of my favorite pieces of world-building from this set! Ryze and Kayle are two of my favorite champions (I like to scale okay), so seeing them get fleshed out just a little here was so cool for me! So to see you act like it doesn't make sense when it 100 trillion percent does... It peeves me quite a bit. You know there are a 100 things or more we don't know about any given League character, Riot has always left gaps in the story that can be filled in later when appropriate. Why do you always act like these things come out of nowhere? This is just good practice when doing world-building!

More so than any other region, every Targonan lore drop reveals a more weird and wonderful side of the mountains. It makes me crazy excited to see how they could adapt it into an MMO
You can only grasp how strong aatrox is when ryze is willing to use the world shards to defeat him and celestials is also intervening to stop them

I do like this Genshin Traveler style Ryze interactions. He suddenly feels so important actually! Previously I thought about him as this guy who's doing dirty job and no-one knows about him. But seeing him being a friend to someone like Kale is actually cool! She's a literally demigod but still asked mortal(Questionable) for some help. It's a great way to show his importance. Like maybe you don't know who he is as a typical guy that works on fields, but gods themselves acknowledge how powerful and important he is!

Here we go...we have the whole darkin raid already planned for the mmo. Xolaani as a 3 phase final boss sounds absolutely incredible.
Already been using a Aatrox and Kayle deck, listening to the voicelines and seeing the new cards lore is so nice

He is called blade of Icathia because he fought there with his army against the void. He was the general all Darkins love.
I don't think Aatrox is from Icathia, I think he's just nicknamed after the region like how Rek'Sai and Bel'Veth are. It would be very weird for Shuriman to let their enemies ascend and risk that ascended being in their army.
We don't have FULL story on that, so we don't know the power struggle and political position between 2. It could even be a coup d'état if Icathia was serving Shurima. All it ever mention was Icathia didn't want to be under Shurima ruller, that's all, anything can happen.
The artwork for aspects bane terrifies me, the idea of a corrupted line of aspects really creeps me out

I believe that when Mirah gave up her blade to Kayle and Morgana it was because she became fully divine.
She crossed into the celestial realm and became the celestial aspect of justice, and passed the duty of being the Targonian aspect to her children.
The aspects themselves are still their own individual, Mirah was just a host, just like Zoe, Leona, Pantheon, etc.
While Morgana is watching the event unfold through her crystal ball

Ryze mentions being summoned via a messenger from the celestial realm so maybe Kayle has met Ryze on multiple occasions when he has been summoned before? Ryze is after all kinda the equivalent to what Guardians of Azeroth is in WoW, who are tasked to protect the planet so he has like the same goal as the Aspects and would maybe work with them on occasion... Idk cx

After seeing the Darkin Staff and how its being hidden in Bandlewood, now kinda wanna see a Darkin that has possessed the body of a yordle. Like just imagen this tiny little "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!" little gremlin holding a sword thats 3x the yordles size
I think you are misinterpeting how Xolaani is controlling them with Blood Magic. From the writer he said Xolaani is literally puppetering them with their blood not because she's "Infusing" or teaching the other darkins blood magic that she was able to control them.
