Size: My male isn’t bigger. He is about the same as my female maybe even a tad smaller
My male goes everywhere with me. He is more of an adventure kitty. Love car rides. Wears sweaters.

I living with 6 Devon Rex Cats and any youngsters. I'm breeder from Germany. I think every Devon is different. But all are lovely, super cuddle, intelligent and wonderful. My supersmartest cuddle Cat are June ( female) and Elvis ( male) . Two with the same character.

Thirteen years ago I got two Devon Rex cats--one male and one female (siblings from the same litter). Some of the comments in the video were on target with both of my babies, and some of them were not. By the age of two they had both developed significant health problems; the male had allergies to just about everything--especially food and things that had scents. We had to switch to laundry detergents that were free of dyes and perfumes, and the same for fabric softeners. I couldn't wear perfume, and during Covid, we couldn't use hand sanitizers because they contain scents. No scented candles burning in the house. Plain clay cat litter--not the convenient clumping kind. He is quite skittish, and he really is a "daddy's boy." Because they had each other, they bonded more with each other than with us (just me and my husband in the house). He was easier to train as he didn't like the sound of a fly swatter hitting the wall or a cabinet, so if he was doing something naughty, all I had to do was show him the fly swatter, and he stopped the offensive behavior. He meows so loudly and forcefully sometimes that I swear he is about to strip the sheath off my last nerve. But, he has white fur, and has long, beautiful legs, and his jumps from here to there are like watching art in motion. He sits up tall and wraps his tail around his feet, and he is so beautiful that to this day he can take my breath away. He does weigh in, like the video claims, in the eight to ten pound range.
We had to have our female euthanized two and a half weeks ago (we miss you terribly baby girl!), but her color was black smoke. She was built kind of stocky, and her stance reminded me of a little bulldog. And she was stubborn, like the claim in the video. Her attitude seemed to be, "You can't make me" (mind), and, in fact, it was true. She did not stop a naughty behavior until we went close enough to her to physically make her stop the behavior, and then she would dart away before we could touch her. She was on medication for much of her life which caused her weight to be higher than the breed standard. She had a sweet little meow--a real "girly" voice.
There were times when she would allow one of us to hold her for a while, and she had a special blankie that would draw her to our lap if we put it in place for her to lay on. They did like to be in the same room with us, but their preference was to sit/lay/stand apart from us. She had shorter legs, and in her stance she would kind of settle her legs into her upper joints. Her jumps from here to there were not beautiful or graceful, but they were straight, head-on, powerful, attack-style, and had she ever been allowed to be outside (we never allowed them to be outdoors as we have coyotes in the area), she likely would have annihilated the entire bird population. She was the dominant one of the two, and she was very driven by scents. She could be quite the bully to the male if he happened to smell different from a trip to the vet or having a shower. They both understood she was the boss, but he had his ways of worming himself into her good graces.
Our house is very quiet, and we rarely have visitors or guests, so they both developed a fear of strangers. When we know people are coming to our home, we now take our remaining Devon to a quiet part of the house and shut the door so he feels safe.
It was a real difficult challenge to raise them together because of their differing ailments, and the requirements surrounding their individual treatments, but we love(d) them both, and we did what was necessary to accommodate whatever their needs happened to be.
The lifespan appears to be 9 or10 to 13-15. Maybe we will be fortunate to get our male to at least the 15-year point, but we feel blessed we had our baby girl for 13 years.

Thanks so much for sharing this. My husband and I are researching Devons and want to get two 3:40 kittens but there are many things to consider. Are you in Canada? Here the kittens are shockingly expensive, in the range of 1000 - 3000$ a kitten…

Looks like at least 2 or 3 pictures shown here weren't devon rex but cornish rex - they have longer nose line than devons. Sadly to say I'm never sure if I can rely on information that you give.
I have one of each. I would probably get another male again. He is so much more fun. I am a dog walker and pet sitter and a couple of my clients have Devon’s and they males are way more affectionate. But I find that actually with cats in general the males more affectionate than the females

In any such videos about Devon Rex Cats I see also Cornish Rex and Oriental Shorthair Cats between the Devon Rex Pictures. The character of Cornish Rex are different from a Devon Rex Cat. Also the character of a oriental cat. I'm breeder of Devon Rex Cat since any years and have male and female about a years. But my English isn't so good. I can talk only in german more about a different between male and female..or not a different 🤭
