I have a Devon Rex too. Minu is her name and she is two. I'm 78 so I'm blessed to be able to be with her 24/7. She is the first in door cat I have ever had. I also have Willow a long haired Chihuahua. They are about the same size and love each other very much and they are hilarious together. Mine spends most of her time in my lap during the day and at night she is glued to my side with my arm around her. Never been so happy. I thank God for all my wonderful pets.

Willow is my exotic shorthair Persian which means dad is Devon Rex and mom long haired Persian. She is black with bright gold round big eyes the Persian has and she's so small my daughter is obsessed and can't believe I found someone who breeds and decided to sell her at 6 months so my win.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We had a Devon Rex for 11 years - his name was Rica and your description is absolutely correct. He tragically passed away in February and he has left a huge gapping hole in our family life.. we have toyed having a dog, another cat.. maybe both or 2 cats ... having watched your video has convinced us it will have to be a Devon Rex.. nothing else will fill the void Rica left in our heart.

the best chore is when you kiss the bald part leading toward their inner ears and its really bristly against your lips as you tell them in no uncertain terms how much you love them. its so nice to be alive and do that. it really makes this whole journey purposeful imo.

Hey! Oliver is absolutley precious!! May i ask, because i am thinking of getting a devon rex too! Is he okey alone when you are away at work? And is the breed very demanding carewise with play and does he talk alot during night/day? 🥰
I just got an exotic shorthair Persian. So her dad is a Devon Rex and mum a long haired Persian she is so pretty she is black and has the Persian bright gold big round eyes and really small because Devon Rex have smaller heads
Our Devon eats pure meat or dry food without grain. Dry food with salmon, chicken is not good for a Devon (dry food). Wet food chicken, salmon, tuna etc. He has a beautiful shiny coat. Your Ollie is beautifull!!
I have a Cornish that looks like a Devon called Cobweb and he is so loving, these type of cat are so different and fabulous

Im thinking of getting a Devon Rex. I just wanted to ask what’s the care like in terms of bathing them or cleaning their ears etc? :)
Hey there! Got my 2 devon rex boys since november 2022 and here‘s what I‘ve learned so far:
- you don’t have to wash them (thank god, mine hate water!) but every couple of weeks, you should check them for any dirt spots and rub them off gently with a moist towel. Mine actually love that 😊 maybe they think i‘m another cat who’s licking them.
- ears: i would have NEVER thought that a cat could get such dirty ears! With james, I have to clean them out every single day, with jupiter about every 2 days. But yes, those ears need some help from you!
- eyes: jupiter doesn‘t have his tear ducts and james does have very narrow ones. We don‘t know if that‘s bc of their breed or bc they had the kitty flu real bad and real young. But it‘s definitely something you should be aware of. I have to use a cream on their eyes every 2 days and they hate it 😅
- care in general: they mostly need love and attention. Some ppl like that, some think it‘s exhausting. Up to you to decide ;)
Don‘t shy away from the breed - i absolutely adore my 2 boys and wouldn‘t want it any other way!
@@marielou2365 thank you so much! I actually have a Devon Rex kitten now and she is the most amazing baby ever 😍💞 so sweet and loving. Yep cleaning those ears is definitely a common task but I find it quite satisfying and she doesn’t mind it at all. I love her so much, such a beautiful personality 🤍

Just wanted to say that Devons are not hypoallergenic because no breed is hypoallergenic. Their reduced shedding might make it seem like they trigger allergies less and it might be a better fit for those with allergies but people shouldn't expect no allergy reaction if they do have pet allergies. Besides that point, my Devon has postively impacted my life especially since I live alone because of Uni.
